This research aims to desribe the improvement of liveliness and learning outcomes in mathematics with rectangular material in SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Surakarta grade VII A using Probing Prompting model. This research uses qualitative approach with Classroom Action Research. The students of grade VII A of SMP Muhammadiayah 5 Surakarta are as the subject of receiver action that consist of 22 students. Then, method of collecting the data are observation, notes, documentation and test. The technigues of analyzing the data are data analysis, data presentation and data verification (conclusing). The result of the research shows that there is liveliness and learning outcomes in mathematics with rectangular material material. It can be seen from the indicators, such as: (1) the students that get score ≥ KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal) before the action is 27,27% and after the action is 90,91%, (2) the students that are action answering the questions about the material rectangular before the action is 18,18% and after the action is 86,36% and (3) the students can deliver idea and opinion about the mathematics problem before the action is 13,36% and after the action is 81,81%. So, it can be concluded that applying of Probing Prompting can improve mathematics learning result of the students of rectangular material

This research aims to improve understanding of mathematical concepts on the subject of rectangles and triangles through Problem Based Learning method. This research is a classroom action research. The subject of this research are students and teacher of class VII 7 SMP Negeri 1 Grobogan. Implementation of class actions performed during the four cycles of four meetings. The techniques of collecting data was observation , documentation , test methods and field notes. To ensure the validity of data used triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction , data presentation and verification of data. The results showed an increased understanding of mathematical concepts on the subject of rectangles and triangles through Problem Based Learning method seen from the percentage of: ( 1 ) students who are able to restate the purpose of the lesson was learned , before action 10 students ( 25.00%), after the act became 28 students ( 70.00 % ); ( 2 ) students who are able to solve problems correctly in accordance with the steps right , prior to the action 14 students ( 35.00 % ), after the act became 33 students ( 82.50 % ); ( 3 ) students who are able to use a concept for solving the problem , before the act of 11 students ( 27.50 % ), after the act became 30 students ( 75.00 % ). It can be concluded that the learning methods Problem Based Learning can enhance students' understanding of mathematical concepts

The research aims at identify errors which made by students to solve fractional operation number problems thus errors can be minimized and mathematics learning achievement can be improved. The type of this research is qualitative research. The data were collected by test, interviews, and documentation. The result of this research shows: (1) The errors which made by students to solve fractional operation problem is comprehension errors as 15,9%, transformation errors is 28,4%, process skill errors ids 63,6% and encoding errors is 50%. (2) There are 3 factors causing students didn’t used what is known and asked in writing the problem, misunderstanding concept and fractional operation, and the cause of errors because doesn’t write answers and conclusions. (3) The solution can be done to minimize students’ errors is make the language more communicative, applying cooperative teaching learning.
