The role of the Axiom of Choice in proper and distinguishing colourings

Call a colouring of a graph \emph{distinguishing} if the only automorphism of a graph which preserves it is the identity. We investigate the role of the Axiom of Choice in the existence of certain proper or distinguishing colourings in both vertex and edge variants with special emphasis on locally finite connected graphs. In particular, we show that every locally finite connected graph has a distinguishing colouring or every locally finite connected graph has a proper colouring with at most countable number of colours if and only if K\H{o}nig's Lemma holds. Furthermore, we show that it is improvable in ZF that such colourings exists even for every connected graph with maximum degree three. We also formulate few conditions about distinguishing and proper colourings which are equivalent to the Axiom of Choice

The films with actors about the adventures of Asterix and Obelix are an important part of the contemporary popular culture. The plot of these film is located in antiquity therefore ancient motives are common in them. It is very important to check if these motives are showed in the way which is consistent with historical truth. And it is very important to know how big their influence on popular perception on antiquity is. This article is a first step to answer these questions. It shows that some motives are showed correctly but some are presented incorrectly.
