Closed Loop Supply Chains include operations for physical collection of end-of-use products, selection based on their configuration and/or condition and decision making for reuse, remanufacturing or recycling. Uncertainty factors regarding the time, place of origin, and status of returns introduce many difficulties in planning these operations. With the aim to minimize such problems, this paper presents an architecture for virtual reverse logistics networks and an implementation for end-of-use PCs. The virtual reverse logistics network for PCs relies on E-commerce and WWW technologies for remote monitoring and benchmarking, instead of physical transportation and inspection. A configuration monitoring and benchmarking agent screens the computer that is about to enter the end-of-use stream and registers the data in the system’s databases. The virtual reverse logistics network regards all incoming PCs as submitted offers. Also, users or agents may explicitly register requests for PCs or modules. Offers are matched to requests with a decision support system to provide recommendations for reuse, remanufacturing or recycling of end-of-use PCs. An electronic marketplace matches requests and offers. The proposed architecture diminishes the uncertainty factors and provides us with an understanding on what is missing and it is likely to have a positive impact to the development of virtual reverse logistics networks for computers and other equipment with embedded logic.business processes;Closed Loop Supply Chains;virtual reverse logistics networks;web-based system

Reverse logistics, that is, all operations related to the reuse of used products, excess inventory and packaging materials, gain increasing attention globally both for their promising financial potentials, the sustainable growth alternative they offer and the environmental positive impact they have. In this paper, we introduce reverse logistics and we explain how the adoption of e-commerce provides new possibilities to existing business models and what are the new e-business models in reverse logistics that have emerged. We compare these three new e-business models, namely, returns aggregators, specialty locators and integrated solution providers on a number of aspects and identify keys for their competitive advantage. Finally, we discuss conceptual and actual opportunities for these e-business models to thrive and advance and present some e-commerce tools that are being developed with the aim to address the distributed, dynamic and knowledge-intensive aspects of applications that contribute to the advancement of e-businesses in the field of reverse logistics.e-commerce;Reverse logistics;e-business models

Design Principles for Closed Loop Supply Chains

In this paper we study design principles for closed loop supply chains. Closed loop supply chains aim at closing material flows thereby limiting emission and residual waste, but also providing customer service at low cost. We study 'traditional' and 'new' design principles known in the literature. It appears that setting up closed loop supply chains requires some additional design principles because of sustainability requirements. At the same time however, we see that traditional principles also apply. Subsequently we look at a business situation at Honeywell. Here, only a subset of the relevant design principles is applied. The apparent low status of reverse logistics may provide an explanation for this. To some extent, the same mistakes are made again as were 20 years ago in, for instance, inbound logistics. Thus, obvious improvements can be made by applying traditional principles. Also new principles, which require a life cycle driven approach, need to be applied. This can be supported by advanced management tools such as LCA and LCC.reverse logistics;case-study;closed loop supply chains

This research aims to problematize the relations between suicide and late modern society with focus on the experience of the young adults and teenagers aiming: to discuss about modern age and the current society and it's characteristics; map the conception and factors of suicide/ identify the relations between media, technology and juveniles; identify the risk factors towards suicide between teenagers and young adults and understand their feeling towards suicide. The social representations allow us to study their thoughts, symbolization and behavior towards suicide, essentially to their socialization, being this research done by bibliographic survey, by social network and other technologic means including analyzing the American series ?13 Reasons Why? by Netflix and the ?blue whale game?, which address the issue and personal life stories interview. The interviews had as methodology the oral reports of two young women between 15 and 29 years old who experienced situations of ideation and attempts of suicide, overcoming these situations and offering their life stories. The development of the work counted on the theoretical discussion about the modernity and its impacts on the individuality and self-identity, as well as the relations with modern institutions and their role on the means of mass communication and media on the experience of the young. The life stories serve as to emphasize some elements present on this discussion. It is notable the perception of fragility of the integrating institutions, like family and school, supposed to offer safety to these young children and teenagers. It is revealed a precarious attention of these institutions in the formation of these people, generating feeling of loneliness, sadness, insecurity, lack of trust, anxiety among others who lead to depression. As a result of these debilities in the institutions in late modernity, we have suicide ideation, selfmutilation, suicide attempts and suicide as a form of escape, of relief of the situations that they live in their day-to-day life, especially during the transition to adolescence. The situations that currently are leading young adults and teenagers to suicide is discussed on this study.

This study about the innovations and contradictions (of the old and the new) in and for literacy in the 9th (9th) year Primary School, ains to answer the following question: What discussions and innovations have been assumed and publicized in regard to literacy processes in the I Elementary School Cycle of 09 (nine) years, after Law n? 11.274 / 2006? What do the interlocutors of the theme say, and what do students of initial formation understand about this process? The objective of this study is te analyze and compare the understandings of literacy and innovation (the new and the old), highlighting the changes and contradictions that remain despite the changes in legislation and the reflections that have been made. It is a qualitative research, with bibliographic support, from the state of knowledge and documentary type. First of all, we enter into the studies that deal with this training particularity available in SciELO's scientific base, and in the sequence we seek the understandings indicated in reports on the compulsory curricular Pedagogy Course of the training, held in the First Cycle of Elementary Education (1st to 3rd year). In order to give cover to the above, we enter the studies of Mortatti (2006), Smolka (1993), Lemle (2007), Freire (2000, 2011, 2012) and the Curricular Proposal of Santa Catarina (1998), among others that deal with the discussions literacy and its historical challenges. Educational processes are seen by innovation researchers as something historical and circumstantial, such as studies by Messina (2001), Carborell (2002), Isaia, Bolzan and Maciel (2009), Imbern?n (2010) and Leite, Genro and Braga ( 2011). As results, we highlight the dichotomy between the legal requirements and the commitments assumed by the State, as a provider of rights, with the social network and school units. In addition, there is the lack of dialogue between universities, schools and literacy teachers, which makes this partnership fragile; there is also a gap between production, training, and literacy experiences, wich shows how far apart we are from each other. There is, therefore, a need of new organizational movements, new resume?s, new methodologies, new learning possibilities, which have been and are being required, since the six-year-old child became a student of the first year on elementary school, and the question follows: what can we do?Este estudo, acerca das inova??es e das contradi??es (do velho e do novo) na e para a alfabetiza??o no Ensino Fundamental de 09 (Nove) Anos, busca responder ? seguinte indaga??o: Que discuss?es e inova??es v?m sendo assumidas e publicizadas em aten??o aos processos de alfabetiza??o no I Ciclo do Ensino Fundamental de 09 (Nove) Anos, no p?s Lei n? 11.274/2006?
