Towards the Automatic Classification of Documents in User-generated Classifications

There is a huge amount of information scattered on the World Wide Web. As the information flow occurs at a high speed in the WWW, there is a need to organize it in the right manner so that a user can access it very easily. Previously the organization of information was generally done manually, by matching the document contents to some pre-defined categories. There are two approaches for this text-based categorization: manual and automatic. In the manual approach, a human expert performs the classification task, and in the second case supervised classifiers are used to automatically classify resources. In a supervised classification, manual interaction is required to create some training data before the automatic classification task takes place. In our new approach, we intend to propose automatic classification of documents through semantic keywords and building the formulas generation by these keywords. Thus we can reduce this human participation by combining the knowledge of a given classification and the knowledge extracted from the data. The main focus of this PhD thesis, supervised by Prof. Fausto Giunchiglia, is the automatic classification of documents into user-generated classifications. Requirement analysis for building practical accident warning systems based on vehicular ad-hoc networks

An Accident Warning System (AWS) is a safety application that provides collision avoidance notifications for next generation vehicles whilst Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) provide the communication functionality to exchange these notifi- cations. Despite much previous research, there is little agreement on the requirements for accident warning systems. In order to build a practical warning system, it is important to ascertain the system requirements, information to be exchanged, and protocols needed for communication between vehicles. This paper presents a practical model of an accident warning system by stipulating the requirements in a realistic manner and thoroughly reviewing previous proposals with a view to identify gaps in this area

Bridging End Users' Terms and AGROVOC Concept Server Vocabularies

The AGROVOC is a multilingual structured thesaurus in the agricultural domain. It has already been mapped with several vocabularies, for example AGROVOC-CAT, AGROVOC-NALT , AGROVOC-SWD. Although these vocabularies already contained a good portion of non-preferred terms, the terms are collected under the literary warrant and institutional warrant principles; which means vocabularies were collected based on the documents and publications rather than user‟s queries. Impact of Women Entrepreneurship on Women Empowerment in Bangladesh

Women empowerment is the positive decision making power of their own, access to the information and control over resources and also increases economic strengthens of a country and this research is conducted to find out how entrepreneurship increases empowerment of the women. A structured questionnaire has been used to collect the data by face to face interview and all the target population are women and has been divided by two categories (House wife and Entrepreneur as well as house wife) and data is collected through Khulna region. To conduct the research I use percentile, mean, standard deviation and this research exposes women entrepreneurship has increased their decision taking ability most of the aspects compare to the house wife. So if they were provided with easy payable loans with general terms and condition they will be more confident, give a hand to the family, control over resources like man.
