Social Psychology And Marketing: The Consumption Game. Understanding Marketing And Consumer Behavior Through Game Theory

Consumer psychology provides enough evidence that consumer behavior is not just one side of our existence, but, as a matter of fact, it is a central dimension of our everyday lives, engaging us into changing and defining our identity, beliefs, attitudes and practices. In relation to this, commodification has reached us on all levels: everything that people created, produced and developed over the years, during the post-industrial era, can be commodified and sold to a specific market. Commodification and increased consumption are crossing the line between values and needs, production and creation, identity and capital accumulation, thus making people constantly expecting a payoff while engaging in social, cultural and economic transactions. In this article we argue that we can use the models of game theory to understand socio-economic phenomena such as consumption, B2C marketing and market dynamics.Game Theory, consumer behaviour, commodification, decision theory, marketing

PARTICULARITIES OF THE LOGISTIC OPERATIONS IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL DOMAIN

The management of logistic operations has a very important role in the case of pharmaceutical products. The purpose of this article is to analyze the particularity of the logistic operations management in the pharmaceutical domain. This is seen in the fact that there is the obligatory of using the exclusive distribution system, because the carriers do not have selling right to the final users. In the pharmaceutical domain, the logistic channels may be represented by a system of vertical marketing, made from producers, en-gross sellers and en-detail sellers that action in the frame of an unified system in which a member of the channel may detain property right over the other members the vertical marketing system may be corporative or contractual. In Romania the medicine producers adopted both marketing systems. Organizing and distributing medicine from the specialized unities (pharmaceutical deposit, close circuit pharmacy or community pharmacy) are settled through laws that are specific to the pharmaceutical domain. In these conditions the mission of the company is to give medicine with a balance between price ā€“ quality ā€“ asureness ā€“ efficacy, for giving accessibility to different treatments. The role of the state is significant, reason for an interdisciplinary approaching that may drive to ideas, opinions that may be applied.logistic operation; exclusive distribution; conventional logistic channel; vertical corporative marketing system; vertical contractual marketing system

Study on the Studentsā€™ Perception of Knowledge Usefulness and Necessity Concerning Touristsā€™ Protection

The subject concerning the protection of the consumersā€™ rights and interests is of high concern nowadays, because the market economy, by its mechanisms and by the principles it promotes is permanently associated with the notion of correctness. Considering the consumerā€™s needs, the notion of correctness from the market economy has in view the assurance of great informative possibilities, of choosing and buying the products at convenient prices, with a corresponding quality. The market should be transparent, the information should circulate freely, and the prices should be known. Consequently, the competition will be efficient, loyal, and beneficial for the consumer. Taking into account that one fundamental right of the consumer is to be informed and educated, we intend to realize a study on the identification and solving of the problems met by the students from the departments of Tourism Geography and Environmental Geography, concerning the usefulness and the necessity of a knowledge regarding the protection of tourism consumers. In correlation with this objective, we consider that the academic environment in which the students develop themselves represents an opportunity in what concerns sending and accumulating information from different fields, to efficiently contribute to the formation of a citizen who is aware of his rights as a consumer.consumersā€™ protection, tourism, problem identification, students

XQ2P: Efficient XQuery P2P Time Series Processing

In this demonstration, we propose a model for the management of XML time series (TS), using the new XQuery 1.1 window operator. We argue that centralized computation is slow, and demonstrate XQ2P, our prototype of efficient XQuery P2P TS computation in the context of financial analysis of large data sets (>1M values)

ShotgunWSD: An unsupervised algorithm for global word sense disambiguation inspired by DNA sequencing

In this paper, we present a novel unsupervised algorithm for word sense disambiguation (WSD) at the document level. Our algorithm is inspired by a widely-used approach in the field of genetics for whole genome sequencing, known as the Shotgun sequencing technique. The proposed WSD algorithm is based on three main steps. First, a brute-force WSD algorithm is applied to short context windows (up to 10 words) selected from the document in order to generate a short list of likely sense configurations for each window. In the second step, these local sense configurations are assembled into longer composite configurations based on suffix and prefix matching. The resulted configurations are ranked by their length, and the sense of each word is chosen based on a voting scheme that considers only the top k configurations in which the word appears. We compare our algorithm with other state-of-the-art unsupervised WSD algorithms and demonstrate better performance, sometimes by a very large margin. We also show that our algorithm can yield better performance than the Most Common Sense (MCS) baseline on one data set. Moreover, our algorithm has a very small number of parameters, is robust to parameter tuning, and, unlike other bio-inspired methods, it gives a deterministic solution (it does not involve random choices).Comment: In Proceedings of EACL 201
