Optimality criteria of hybrid inflation-price level targeting

This paper provides a sensitivity analysis of the relative performance of inflation targeting, price level targeting, and hybrid targeting, the combination of these two. A simple, three-period, steady state to steady state economy is presented, where monetary policy is facing various sets of forward and backward looking expectations, social preferences on inflation and output gap stabilization, and degrees of cost push shock persistence. we derive optimal policy mix under the whole spectrum of these economic conditions, reporting also the criteria of the replicability of the theoretically optimal solution. The main intention of the examination is to reveal the nature of each interrelation between economic and policy parameters. The results show that (i) the relative strength of regimes depends heavily on the preconditions, and that (ii) the relationships of parameters related to the performance are non-linear and occasionally non-monotonic as well. our model specification is somewhat restrictive, however, contrary to the related literature, the examination, even in the intermediate cases, can be conducted analytically.hybrid inflation-price level targeting, hybrid new keynesian Phillips curve, cost push shock persistence

Cryopreservation of Pike Perch Sperm in Hatchery Conditions

Experiments were carried out on pike perch (Sander lucioperca L.) to find a method for stripping sperm without contamination by urine, to determine sperm concentration, and to fertilize large batches of eggs with cryopreserved sperm. Induced spawning technology for pike perch, an important predator fish species in Hungarian and central-eastern European pond aquaculture, has been developed only recently. Sperm cryopreservation can be an important tool for several reasons including the simplification of hatchery work and long-term preservation of genomes of males with high genetic value. In the present study, sperm was stripped without urine contamination, improving sperm quality, and large amounts of eggs were fertilized using 0.25 ml sperm, resulting in hatching percentages of 55±3% for 30-g batches of eggs and 87% for a 50-g batch

Personally better…? Analysing Moodle learning management system as a platform of cooperative education

Until 2012 a wide range of Hungarian universities have implemented different kinds of learning management systems (LMS). These frameworks and their applications allow teachers and students to widen their opportunities for common activities as well as non-personal communication and participation: group work, projects, online examinations, gathering common knowledge etc. However, using and utilizing an LMS requires a wide range of competences, thus its usage is a great challenge both for teachers and students. A national-scoped research in Hungary in 2012 (sponsored by one of the Hungarian informatics consulting companies) showed a – more or less – surprising partial result. Considering the so called ‘Moodle’ LMS, most of the students in two large universities taking part in the research claimed that they absolutely prefer personal contact with their teachers as well as with each other. Interviews made with teachers also showed that the solely online led courses have to face the problem of uncontrollability and the weird feeling of loneliness (students categorically demanded contact lectures in case of online courses). Does this effect only depend on the ergonomic structure of the LMS, or is it all about our human nature? The second crucial exploration of this research was the problem of opened and closed information flow as well as integrated platforms. Most of the users do not know whether their works would be available after several years or will it be vanished during the years. They also do not understand why not to integrate learning management systems into widely used opened social media platforms. What kind of problems may this cause? What resolution could be found? All these questions are to be discussed in this paper

E tanulmány azt vizsgálja, hogy a fenntartható fejlődés közgazdasági fogalmát miképpen lehet hatékonyan bevezetni a köznevelésbe és az iskolán kívüli nevelési tevékenységbe. A fenntartható fejlődésre úgy tekintünk, mint gazdasági, társadalmi és környezetvédelmi szempontokat egyesítő elméletre és gyakorlatra. A vizsgált didaktikai célok tekintetében abból indulunk ki, hogy a fenntartható fejlődés megköveteli az etikai gondolkodást, s csak erre építve nyílik lehetőség a téma bemutatására és a cselekedtetésre. A részvételi (más néven participatív vagy deliberatív) demokrácia megvalósítását célzó kezdeményezések XXI. századi eszköze és segítője az online társadalmi kommunikáció. Miután ennek működéséhez elengedhetetlenül szükséges az állampolgárok médiatudatosságának kiteljesedése, a médiatudatosság egyúttal a részvételi demokrácia előfeltételévé is válik.
