Referenced Approximation Technique for a Rom-Less Sweep Frequency Synthesizer

The main goal of this paper is to present a novel ROM-less direct digital frequency synthesizer for sweep instrumentation systems. It provides a main sweep channel for frequency analysis and a reference channel for phase and amplitude measurement block operating at constant frequency. For phase to amplitude converter, we propose a new trigonometric approximation technique based on a set of reference angles. In addition, we present the design of the proposed synthesizer and its evaluation in Matlab-Simulink environment. The simulation results illustrate the performances and demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed circuit

MVC-3D: Adaptive Design Pattern for Virtual and Augmented Reality Systems

International audienceIn this paper, we present MVC-3D design pattern to develop virtual and augmented (or mixed) reality interfaces that use new types of sensors, modalities and implement specific algorithms and simulation models. The proposed pattern represents the extension of classic MVC pattern by enriching the View component (interactive View) and adding a specific component (Library). The results obtained on the development of augmented reality interfaces showed that the complexity of M, iV and C components is reduced. The complexity increases only on the Library component (L). This helps the programmers to well structure their models even if the interface complexity increases. The proposed design pattern is also used in a design process called MVC-3D in the loop that enables a seamless evolution from initial prototype to the final system

Low-cost VR Collaborative System equipped with Haptic Feedback

International audienceIn this paper, we present a low-cost virtual reality (VR) collaborative system equipped with a haptic feedback sensation system. This system is composed of a Kinect sensor for bodies and gestures detection, a microcontroller and vibrators to simulate outside interactions, and smartphone powered cardboard, all of this are put into a network implemented with Unity 3D game engine. Tumeur de Frantz: deux nouveaux cas

A travers cet article, nous détaillons les caractéristiques clinico-pathologiques et discutons l'histogenèse de la tumeur de Frantz. Deux patients opérés pour tumeur de Frantz. Ils ont eu un traitement chirurgical seul. L'étude morphologique était couplée à un examen immuno-histochimique (IHC) utilisant les anticorps anti CD10, anti- vimentine, anti-énolase neuronale spécifique (NSE), anti-synaptophysine, anti-chromogranine A et anti-cytokératine. Un immuno-marquage à l'anti-oestrogène et l'anti-progestérone a été réalisé dans un cas. Il s'agissait d'une femme âgée de 45ans et d'un garçon de 12 ans. Les aspects échographiques et scannographiques étaient non spécifiques. Une exérèse chirurgicale complète a été réalisée dans les deux cas. L'analyse histologique évoquait une tumeur de Frantz. Le diagnostic a été retenu après étude immuno-histohimique. L'évolution était favorable sans récidive avec respectivement un recul de 18 et 16 mois. La tumeur de Frantz est une entité rare. Son diagnostic repose sur l'examen anatomopathologique complété par l'étude immuno-histochimique. Son pronostic est excellent après résection chirurgicale.Pan African Medical Journal 2013; 14:

Design and SystemC-AMS Modeling of a Parallel Direct Digital Synthesizer

This paper presents a new parallel direct digital frequency synthesis (PDDS) circuit providing simultaneous multichannel. The proposed circuit has several applications in instrumentation, identification and data communications. After analysis of a set of design architectures and their limitations, we opted for a rapid and optimized architecture using Wave Arithmetic Unit (WAU) to operate in a largest frequency range. The effectiveness of our proposed circuit is demonstrated by a high-level design of digital blocks in SystemC and analog blocks in SytsemC-AMS language. Finally, the analysis of result responses of all modules confirms the correct PDDS performances for an open microelectronic integration technology

Apport de la biopsie radioguidée dans le diagnostic histopathologique des tumeurs de l’enfant: expérience de l’Hôpital d’Enfant de Rabat

La biopsie radioguidée constitue une alternative à la biopsie chirurgicale invasive et à la cytologie pour le diagnostic des tumeurs pédiatriques. L'intérêt de notre étude est d'évaluer la valeur diagnostique des biopsies radioguidées examinées au laboratoire d'anatomopathologie de l'hôpital d'Enfants de Rabat (HER). L'étude a porté sur 78 biopsies radioguidées recueillies dans notre laboratoire entre janvier 2008 et décembre 2011. l'âge moyen des patients était de 5 ans et 10 mois avec une prédominance masculine  (65,4 %). La tumeur était abdominale dans 80 % des cas, thoracique dans 15 % cas, thoracique et abdominale dans 2,5% et sacrée dans 1,2%. Les biopsies étaient écho-guidées dans 90 % des cas et scannoguidées dans 10% des cas. Le diagnostic histopathologique était posé dans 89 % des cas.  L'immuno-histochimie a été indiquée dans 35 % des cas. Les diagnostics les plus fréquents étaient : tumeurs neuroblastiques (42 cas), lymphomes non hodgkiniens (10 cas), rhabdomyosarcomes (6 cas), autres (sarcome d'Ewing, néphroblastomes, tumeur  myofibroblastique inflammatoire, maladies de Hodgkin, leucémie aiguë, hépatoblastome et ostéosarcome). Dans notre série, la biopsie radioguidée a permis un diagnostic histopathologique certain dans 89 % des cas.Elle nécessite une étroite collaboration entre clinicien, radiologue et anatomopathologiste pour discuter son indication, afin de diminuer le nombre de biopsies peu ou non représentatives.Key words: Biopsie, radioguidée, tumeur, enfan
