    J_AW,WA functions in Passarino-Veltman reduction

In this paper we continue to study a special class of Passarino-Veltman functions J arising at the reduction of infrared divergent box diagrams. We describe a procedure of separation of two types of singularities, infrared and mass singularities, which are absorbed in simple C0 functions. The infrared divergences of C0's can be regularized then by any method: photon mass, dimensionally or by the width of an unstable particle. Functions J, in turn, are represented as certain linear combinations of the standard D0 and C0 Passarino-Veltman functions. The former are free of both types of singularities and are expressed as explicit and compact linear combinations of logarithms and dilogarithm functions. We present extensive comparisons of numerical results with those obtained with the aid of the LoopTools package

Vergleich der Anbaueignung verschiedender Ölpflanzenarten und -sorten für die Speiseölproduktion im Ökologischen Landbau

    Get PDF

Electroweak radiative corrections to the three channels of the process f_1 bar-f_1 ZA --> 0

We have calculated the electroweak radiative corrections at the O(alpha) level to the three channels of the process f_1 bar-f_1 Z A --> 0 and implemented them into the SANC system. Here A stands for the photon and f_1 for a first generation fermion whose mass is neglected everywhere except in arguments of logarithmic functions. The symbol --> 0 means that 4-momenta of all the external particles flow inwards. We present the complete analytical results for the covariant and helicity amplitudes for three cross channels: f_1 + bar-f_1 --> Z + gamma, Z --> f_1 + bar-f_1 + gamma and f_1 + gamma --> f_1 + Z. The one-loop scalar form factors of these channels are simply related by an appropriate permutation of their arguments s,t,u. To check the correctness of our results we first of all observe the independence of the scalar form factors on the gauge parameters and the validity of the Ward identity, i.e. external photon transversality, and, secondly, compare our numerical results with the other independent calculations available to us.Comment: 19 pages, 6 figures, 10 table

Slepton pair production in the POWHEG BOX

We present an implementation for slepton pair production at hadron colliders in the POWHEG BOX, a framework for combining next-to-leading order QCD calculations with parton-shower Monte-Carlo programs. Our code provides a SUSY Les Houches Accord interface for setting the supersymmetric input parameters. Decays of the sleptons and parton-shower effects are simulated with PYTHIA. Focussing on a representative point in the supersymmetric parameter space we show results for kinematic distributions that can be observed experimentally. While next-to-leading order QCD corrections are sizable for all distributions, the parton shower affects the color-neutral particles only marginally. Pronounced parton-shower effects are found for jet distributions.Comment: 10 pages, 4 figure

Transcutaneous treatment with vetdrop(®) sustains the adjacent cartilage in a microfracturing joint defect model in sheep

The significance of the adjacent cartilage in cartilage defect healing is not yet completely understood. Furthermore, it is unknown if the adjacent cartilage can somehow be influenced into responding after cartilage damage. The present study was undertaken to investigate whether the adjacent cartilage can be better sustained after microfracturing in a cartilage defect model in the stifle joint of sheep using a transcutaneous treatment concept (Vetdrop(®)). Carprofen and chito-oligosaccharids were added either as single components or as a mixture to a vehicle suspension consisting of a herbal carrier oil in a water-in-oil phase. This mixture was administered onto the skin with the aid of a specific applicator during 6 weeks in 28 sheep, allocated into 6 different groups, that underwent microfracturing surgery either on the left or the right medial femoral condyle. Two groups served as control and were either treated intravenously or sham treated with oxygen only. Sheep were sacrificed and their medial condyle histologically evaluated qualitatively and semi-quantitatively according to 4 different scoring systems (Mankin, ICRS, Little and O'Driscoll). The adjacent cartilage of animals of group 4 treated transcutaneously with vehicle, chito-oligosaccharids and carprofen had better histological scores compared to all the other groups (Mankin 3.3±0.8, ICRS 15.7±0.7, Little 9.0±1.4). Complete defect filling was absent from the transcutaneous treatment groups. The experiment suggests that the adjacent cartilage is susceptible to treatment and that the combination of vehicle, chitooligosaccharids and carprofen may sustain the adjacent cartilage during the recovery period

    Universality of Decoherence

We consider environment induced decoherence of quantum superpositions to mixtures in the limit in which that process is much faster than any competing one generated by the Hamiltonian HsysH_{\rm sys} of the isolated system. While the golden rule then does not apply we can discard HsysH_{\rm sys}. By allowing for simultaneous couplings to different reservoirs, we reveal decoherence as a universal short-time phenomenon independent of the character of the system as well as the bath and of the basis the superimposed states are taken from. We discuss consequences for the classical behavior of the macroworld and quantum measurement: For the decoherence of superpositions of macroscopically distinct states the system Hamiltonian is always negligible.Comment: 4 revtex pages, no figure

SANC integrator in the progress: QCD and EW contributions

Modules and packages for the one-loop calculations at partonic level represent the first level of SANC output computer product. The next level represents Monte Carlo integrator mcsanc, realizing fully differential hadron level calculations (convolution with PDF) for the HEP processes at LHC. In this paper we describe the implementation into the framework mcsanc first set of processes: DY NC, DY CC, ff->HW(Z) and single top production. Both EW and QCD NLO corrections are taken into account. A comparison of SANC results with those existing in the world literature is given

A retrospective of the GREGOR solar telescope in scientific literature

In this review, we look back upon the literature, which had the GREGOR solar telescope project as its subject including science cases, telescope subsystems, and post-focus instruments. The articles date back to the year 2000, when the initial concepts for a new solar telescope on Tenerife were first presented at scientific meetings. This comprehensive bibliography contains literature until the year 2012, i.e., the final stages of commissioning and science verification. Taking stock of the various publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings also provides the "historical" context for the reference articles in this special issue of Astronomische Nachrichten/Astronomical Notes.Comment: 6 pages, 2 color figures, this is the pre-peer reviewed version of Denker et al. 2012, Astron. Anisotropic Colossal Magnetoresistance Effects in Fe_{1-x}Cu_xCr_2S_4

A detailed study of the electronic transport and magnetic properties of Fe1x_{1-x}Cux_xCr2_2S4_4 (x0.5x \leq 0.5) on single crystals is presented. The resistivity is investigated for 2T3002 \leq T \leq 300 K in magnetic fields up to 14 Tesla and under hydrostatic pressure up to 16 kbar. In addition magnetization and ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) measurements were performed. FMR and magnetization data reveal a pronounced magnetic anisotropy, which develops below the Curie temperature, TCT_{\mathrm{C}}, and increases strongly towards lower temperatures. Increasing the Cu concentration reduces this effect. At temperatures below 35 K the magnetoresistance, MR=ρ(0)ρ(H)ρ(0)MR = \frac{\rho(0) - \rho(H)}{\rho(0)}, exhibits a strong dependence on the direction of the magnetic field, probably due to an enhanced anisotropy. Applying the field along the hard axis leads to a change of sign and a strong increase of the absolute value of the magnetoresistance. On the other hand the magnetoresistance remains positive down to lower temperatures, exhibiting a smeared out maximum with the magnetic field applied along the easy axis. The results are discussed in the ionic picture using a triple-exchange model for electron hopping as well as a half-metal utilizing a band picture.Comment: some typos correcte
