    INFORMATION ACCESS PATTERN THROUGH UGC-INFONET DIGITAL LIBRARY CONSORTIUM BY THE USERS OF CENTRAL LIBRARY, ALAGAPPA UNIVERSITY, KARAIKUDI: A STUDY

    This paper describes briefly a survey conducted at Alagappa University, Central Library, Karaikudi to find out the information access pattern of the users through UGC-Infonet digital library consortium’s journals. A sample size of sixty five Alagappa University Central Library users was selected by random sampling method. The data required for the study was collected through a questionnaire. The findings of the study:58 (89.23%) are aware about the UGC-Infonet journals. 24(36.92%) of the respondents are aware the infonet journals through the library professionals. More than two fifths of the users access the infonet journals daily. 45(69.23%) respondents are satisfied for use of infonet journals. Majority of the respondents are satisfied with use of infonet journals rendered by the Central Library

    IMPACT OF E-COLLECTION AMONG COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION ASPIRANTS AT SIVAGANGAI COACHING CERTERS: A STUDY

    E-Resources available in different file formats and in multi-variety forms have captured the attention of the respondents n the recent years, thanks to the vast digital resources made available in centers. The study attempts to trace out the Impact of e-collection among competitive examination aspirants at sivagangai coaching centers. A sample size of 100 respondents was selected by random sampling method. The data required for the study was collected through a questionnaire. The findings of the study: 49 (58.33%) of the respondents are unemployed, among them male 29(56.86%) of the aspirants are male and female 20(60.60%) of the aspirants are female. 26 (30.95 %) of the respondents rated their coaching center as Good. 24 (28.57%) of the respondents have rated their coaching center is fair. 10.71%of the respondents rated their coaching center as poor, and 14.28% of the respondents did not express any opinion about their coaching center, and 15.47% of the respondents have reported that their coaching center as very good. 35 (41.66%) of the respondents say that they are using the electronic resources frequently, 36.90% of the respondents say that they are using the electronic resources most frequently, 17.75% of respondents are using their electronic resources rarely. 73(86.90%) of the respondents say that the internet facility within their coaching centers is available. 13.09% of the respondents say that there is no internet facility within the coaching center. It can be access through electronic system and internet platform, rendering the information through e-book, e-journals, open sources and related databases

    A reservoir of Indian theses is a digital repository of theses and dissertations submitted to Indian universities. It is maintained by INFLIBNET centre which is an autonomous inter-university centre of the university grants commission (UGC) of India, was initially located in the campus of Gujarat University, Ahmadabad. As of January 2013, INFLIBNET centre has moved to its new institutional building at infocity, Gandhinagar, capital of Gujarat. As on 28 November 2019 as many as 415 Universities contributing in India have signed MoUs with INFLIBNET Centre to participate in the shodhganga project. The full texts of all the documents submitted to shodhganga are available to read and to download in open access to the academic community worldwide. The repository has a collection of 2, 45,789 Theses, 6450 Synopses, 415 Universities contribution and 488 Universities signed MoUs
