The owner purchased it in 2011 during a book fair in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State. The publication date is not indicated, but the text is evidently a complete bound copy of a market edition.This manuscript is a Fulfulde Ajami translation of Imām al-Nawawī’s forty-four ḥadiths. This ḥadith collection is perhaps the most popular one in northern Nigeria. Students in Quranic school students study the text and are expected to read, memorize, and chant it in Arabic and to translate it into other local languages. The author, whose name is not written on the digitized manuscript, provides a line by line translation of the Arabic ḥadiths and offers comments in Fulfulde Ajami. The text addresses many aspects of Islamic rituals, including faithfulness, goodwill, chastity, devotion, contentment, virtuous habits, oneness of Allāh, human relations, and preparedness for the judgment day.The contents of this collection were developed with support of the Title VI National Resource Center grant # P015A180164 from the U.S. Department of Education.     Also known as Kitāb al-Adhkār, on prayers for day and night handed down by tradition, in 361 bābs or chapters. A lengthy table of contents precedes the work, and many reading notes and marginal comments are found throughout.Shelfmark: Ann Arbor, University of Michigan, Special Collections Research Center, Isl. Ms. 531Origin: Composition finished ("faraghtu min jamʻih") in Muḥarram 667 [September 1268]. As appears in colophon on fol.153b, copying finished ("tamma al-kitāb...ʻalá yad") by ʻAbd al-Raḥīm ibn ʻAbd al-Karīm ibn Naṣr Allāh al-Jurmī Muḥtadā al-Shīrāzī, on the evening of Friday, the 21st of the month of repentance (shahr al-tawbah) [Ramaḍān], 769 [ca. 10 May 1368].Accompanying materials: a. Yahuda via purchase transacted on his behalf by Abraham Shalom Yahuda (1877-1951), his younger brother.A multitude of collation statments signed Nūr Shihāb al-Dīn [?] indicating that Mawlānā Shams al-Dīn completed the collation with him via reading / recitation, statement reads "بلغ مولانا شمس الدين قرأة علي كتبه الفقير نور شهاب الدين ... [?]" appears every few leaves in the margins throughout (e.g. fol. 13b, 25a, 36b, 38b, 40 b, 98b, 100b, etc.) though only twice after change of ink / line (fol. 107a, 108b) ; a statement on the added title page further references the collation by Mawlānā Shams al-Dīn "تنبيه: هذا النسخة الشريفة كتب في عصر المؤلف وقرء عليه مولانا شمس الدين وصححه وقابله" ; an interesting scribal note to test the red ink (probatio pennae or "pen trial") found on fol. 77a "تجرب القلم بالمركب الاحمر.
