Electrical Control of Plasmon Resonance with Graphene
Surface plasmon, with its unique capability to concentrate light into
sub-wavelength volume, has enabled great advances in photon science, ranging
from nano-antenna and single-molecule Raman scattering to plasmonic waveguide
and metamaterials. In many applications it is desirable to control the surface
plasmon resonance in situ with electric field. Graphene, with its unique
tunable optical properties, provides an ideal material to integrate with
nanometallic structures for realizing such control. Here we demonstrate
effective modulation of the plasmon resonance in a model system composed of
hybrid graphene-gold nanorod structure. Upon electrical gating the strong
optical transitions in graphene can be switched on and off, which leads to
significant modulation of both the resonance frequency and quality factor of
plasmon resonance in gold nanorods. Hybrid graphene-nanometallic structures, as
exemplified by this combination of graphene and gold nanorod, provide a general
and powerful way for electrical control of plasmon resonances. It holds promise
for novel active optical devices and plasmonic circuits at the deep
subwavelength scale
Atomic-layer-deposited ultrafine MoS2 nanocrystals on cobalt foam for efficient and stable electrochemical oxygen evolution
Ultrafine molybdenum sulfide (MoS2) nanocrystals are grown on a porous cobalt (Co) foam current collector by atomic layer deposition (ALD) using molybdenum hexacarbonyl and hydrogen sulfide as precursors. When used to catalyze the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), the optimal Co@MoS2 electrode, even with a MoS2 loading as small as 0.06 mg cm-2, exhibits a large cathodic shift of ca. 200 mV in the onset potential (the potential at which the current density is 5 mA cm-2), a low overpotential of only 270 mV to attain an anodic current density of 10 mA cm-2, much smaller charge transfer resistance and substantially improved long-term stability at both low and high current densities, with respect to the bare Co foam electrode, showing substantial promise for use as an efficient, low-cost and durable anode in water electrolyzers.L. High-efficiency single-photon source above the loss-tolerant threshold for efficient linear optical quantum computing
Photon loss is the biggest enemy for scalable photonic quantum information
processing. This problem can be tackled by using quantum error correction,
provided that the overall photon loss is below a threshold of 1/3. However, all
reported on-demand and indistinguishable single-photon sources still fall short
of this threshold. Here, by using tailor shaped laser pulse excitation on a
high-quantum efficiency single quantum dot deterministically coupled to a
tunable open microcavity, we demonstrate a high-performance source with a
single-photon purity of 0.9795(6), photon indistinguishability of 0.9856(13),
and an overall system efficiency of 0.712(18), simultaneously. This source for
the first time reaches the efficiency threshold for scalable photonic quantum
computing. With this source, we further demonstrate 1.89(14) dB intensity
squeezing, and consecutive 40-photon events with 1.67 mHz count rate
Observation of a ppb mass threshoud enhancement in \psi^\prime\to\pi^+\pi^-J/\psi(J/\psi\to\gamma p\bar{p}) decay
The decay channel
is studied using a sample of events collected
by the BESIII experiment at BEPCII. A strong enhancement at threshold is
observed in the invariant mass spectrum. The enhancement can be fit
with an -wave Breit-Wigner resonance function with a resulting peak mass of
and a
narrow width that is at the 90% confidence level.
These results are consistent with published BESII results. These mass and width

Precision Measurement of the Mass of the Lepton
An energy scan near the pair production threshold has been performed
using the BESIII detector. About pb of data, distributed over four
scan points, was collected. This analysis is based on pair decays to

lepton is measured from a maximum likelihood fit to the pair production
cross section data to be )

Search for the radiative transitions and
By using a 2.92 fb data sample taken at GeV with
the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we search for the
radiative transitions and
through the hadronic decays . No
significant excess of signal events above background is observed. We set upper
limits at a 90% confidence level for the product branching fractions to be
and
. Combining our result with world-average
values of , we find the
branching fractions
and at a 90%

Search for C-parity violation in and
Using events recorded in
collisions at 3.686 GeV with the BESIII at the BEPCII collider, we
present searches for C-parity violation in and decays via . No significant
signals are observed in either channel. Upper limits on the branching fractions
are set to be and
at the 90\%
confidence level. The former is one order of magnitude more stringent than the
previous upper limit, and the latter represents the first limit on this decay

Observation of decays into vector meson pairs , , and
Decays of to vector meson pairs , and
are observed for the first time using
\psip events accumulated at the BESIII detector at the BEPCII
collider. The branching fractions are measured to be , , and , for , , and ,
respectively. The observation of decays into a pair of vector
mesons , and indicates that the hadron
helicity selection rule is significantly violated in decays. In
addition, the measurement of gives the rate of doubly
OZI-suppressed decay. Branching fractions for and
decays into other vector meson pairs are also measured with improved precision.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
Observation of a charged charmoniumlike structure in at GeV
We study the process at a
center-of-mass energy of 4.26GeV using a 827pb data sample obtained with
the BESIII detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. Based on a
partial reconstruction technique, the Born cross section is measured to be
pb. We observe a structure near the
threshold in the recoil mass spectrum, which we denote as the
. The measured mass and width of the structure are
MeV/c and MeV, respectively. Its
production ratio is determined to be . The first uncertainties

Precision measurement of the branching fractions of J/psi -> pi+pi-pi0 and psi' -> pi+pi-pi0
We study the decays of the J/psi and psi' mesons to pi+pi-pi0 using data
samples at both resonances collected with the BES III detector in 2009. We
measure the corresponding branching fractions with unprecedented precision and
provide mass spectra and Dalitz plots. The branching fraction for J/psi ->
pi+pi-pi0 is determined to be (2.137 +- 0.004 (stat.) +0.058-0.056 (syst.)
+0.027-0.026 (norm.))*10-2, and the branching fraction for psi' -> pi+pi-pi0 is
measured as (2.14 +- 0.03 (stat.) +0.08-0.07 (syst.) +0.09-0.08 (norm.))*10-4.
The J/psi decay is found to be dominated by an intermediate rho(770) state,
whereas the psi' decay is dominated by di-pion masses around 2.2 GeV/c2,
