Examining the Personality Traits and Empathetic Tendency Levels of Students of the Coaching Education Department

The objective of this study is to determine the personality traits and empathetic tendency levels of students of the coaching education department. In addition to that, the empathetic tendency levels of students of the coaching education department were compared according to some characteristics. The research was conducted as a survey model. 347 students participated in the research group, who were studying at Erciyes University Department of Coaching Education, Faculty of Sport Sciences in the 2018-2019 academic year. In the study, Personal Information Form, Ten-Item Personality Inventory and Empathetic Tendency Scale were used as the data collection tools. SPSS program was used for the analysis of the data. According to the results of the study, the "compatible" personality trait of students of the coaching education department came to the fore and their empathetic tendency levels were determined at "medium level". Moreover, it was determined that there was statistically no significant difference in the empathetic tendency levels of students of the coaching education department concerning age, gender, academic grade, doing active sports, GPA, and sports branch

Beden eğitimi öğretmenlerinin yaratıcılığa teşvik edici davranışlarına göre kullandıkları öğretim stilleri

Beden eğitimi ve spor derslerinde kullanılan öğrenci merkezli yaklaşımların yaratıcılığa olumlu etkilerinin olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenlerinin kullandıkları öğretim stilleri ile yaratıcılığı teşvik edici davranışlarını cinsiyet, devlet veya özel okulda görev yapma durumuna göre incelemek ve kullandıkları öğretim stillerine göre yaratıcılığı teşvik edici davranışlarındaki farklılığı ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma örneklemini 145 kadın ve 203 erkek olmak üzere toplam 348 beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan kişisel bilgi formu ile birlikte öğretmenlerin beden eğitimi ve spor derslerinde kullandıkları öğretim stillerini belirlemek için “Beden Eğitimi Öğretmenleri Öğretim Stilleri Değer Algıları Anketi (BEÖSDA) ve “Yaratıcılığa Teşvik Edici Öğretmen Davranışları İndeksi (YÖDİ)” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmenlerinin büyük çoğunluğunun kullandıkları stiller konusunda yeterli bilgiye sahip olduğu ve daha çok öğretmenin aktif olduğu öğreten merkezli yaklaşımının tercih edildiği belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, öğretmenlerin öğretim stillerini kullanma durumuna göre yaratıcılığı teşvik edici davranışlarının değişkenlik gösterebileceği görülmüştür

A RESEARCH ON CURIOSITY LEVELS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATIONAND SPORTS TEACHERS (Kayseri Province Sample)

The purpose of research is to determine the curiosity level of physical education and sports teachers. Research was conducted with physical education and sports teachers (N=230) working in Kayseri during the 2011-2012 academic year. “The Curiosity Index (CI-3)” which was developed by Ainley (1987) and adapted into Turkish by Demirel and Coşkun (2009) was used for data collection tools. In data analysis descriptive statistics, frequency (n), percentage (%), mean ( ) and standard deviation (Sd) were utilized. In order to explore the differences, non-parametrical tests Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used and SPSS 18.0 statistics package program was used to determine if there was a relationship among the data. According to the findings, women had higher curiosity level than men, singles had higher curiosity than married people and age group ≤ 30 years had higher curiosity than age group ≥ 31 years.
