INVESTIGATING EFFECTIVENESS OF SOURCE CREDIBILITY ELEMENTS ON SOCIAL COMMERCE ENDORSEMENT: THE CASE OF INSTAGRAM IN INDONESIA

    Get PDF
The rapid spread of social media has brought new ways for marketers to communicate and manage brands online. Celebrity endorsement has been a popular practice in social media, however, what contributes to its effectiveness has not been fully understood. To address this issue, this study examines the effects of endorsement in social media towards brand attitude and merchandise attractiveness based on the source credibility model. We propose source credibility elements: attractiveness, expertise, and trustworthiness, to be positively related to consumer attitude. We test these hypotheses by conducting online survey with 183 participants in Indonesia. This study demonstrated that brand attitude was influenced by endorser’s attractiveness and trustworthiness, meanwhile merchandise attractiveness was influenced by endorser’s expertise and trustworthiness

Performance of Cross-layer Design with Multiple Outdated Estimates in Multiuser MIMO System

By combining adaptive modulation (AM) and automatic repeat request (ARQ) protocol as well as user scheduling, the cross-layer design scheme of multiuser MIMO system with imperfect feedback is presented, and multiple outdated estimates method is proposed to improve the system performance. Based on this method and imperfect feedback information, the closed-form expressions of spectral efficiency (SE) and packet error rate (PER) of the system subject to the target PER constraint are respectively derived. With these expressions, the system performance can be effectively evaluated. To mitigate the effect of delayed feedback, the variable thresholds (VTs) are also derived by means of the maximum a posteriori method, and these VTs include the conventional fixed thresholds (FTs) as special cases. Simulation results show that the theoretical SE and PER are in good agreement with the corresponding simulation. The proposed CLD scheme with multiple estimates can obtain higher SE than the existing CLD scheme with single estimate, especially for large delay. Moreover, the CLD scheme with VTs outperforms that with conventional FTs

Service Fairness and Customer Satisfaction in Internet Bank: From a Trust and Perceived Customer Value Perspective

    Get PDF
Recent research has found that fairness plays a key role in customer satisfaction. Fairness in an online context and how it influences customer satisfaction, however, has yet been investigated. This research examines satisfaction from a fairness lens and explores the mediators of fairness to satisfaction in the internet bank context. 131 surveys were analyzed and results show that in internet bank, fairness that includes distributive fairness, procedural fairness and informational fairness is positively related to customer satisfaction. Trust and value are identified as two key mediators of fairness to customer satisfaction

Interacting heavy fermions in a disordered optical lattice

We have theoretically studied the effect of disorder on ultracold alkaline-earth atoms governed by the Kondo lattice model in an optical lattice via simplified double-well model and hybridization mean-field theory. Disorder-induced narrowing and even complete closure of hybridization gap have been predicted and the compressibility of the system has also been investigated for metallic and Kondo insulator phases in the presence of the disordered potential. To make connection to the experimental situation, we have numerically solved the disordered Kondo lattice model with an external harmonic trap and shown both the melting of Kondo insulator plateau and an compressibility anomaly at low-density

Effect of air core on the shape and discharge of the outflow through a bottom outlet

    Get PDF
AbstractExperiments were conducted to study the generation of air core and its effect on the outflow shape and discharge in a cylindrical water tank with a bottom well-designed outlet. Depending on the stages of the air core in the tank, the outflow shape can vary from a smooth water jet to a smooth spindle shape with air-core, and to water sprays. The diameter of the nozzle size also has influence on the outflow pattern. The existence of the penetrated air core can dramatically reduce the outflow discharge, with the discharge coefficient decreasing with the nozzle diameter

Cyclotron Dynamics of a Kondo Singlet in a Spin-Orbit-Coupled Alkaline-Earth Atomic Gas

We propose a scheme to investigate the interplay between Kondo-exchange interaction and quantum spin Hall effect with ultracold fermionic alkaline-earth atoms trapped in two-dimensional optical lattices using ultracold collision and laser-assisted tunneling. In the strong Kondo-coupling regime, though the loop trajectory of the mobile atom disappears, collective dynamics of an atom pair in two clock states can exhibit an unexpected spin-dependent cyclotron orbit in a plaquette, realizing the quantum spin Hall effect of the Kondo singlet. We demonstrate that the collective cyclotron dynamics of the spin-zero Kondo singlet is governed by an effective Harper-Hofstadter model in addition to second-order diagonal tunneling
