Research Progress on Characterization and Regulation of Forming Quality in Laser Joining of Metal and Polymer, and Development Trends of Lightweight Automotive Applications
Metal–polymer hybrid structures have been widely used in research into their lightweight automotive applications, because of their excellent comprehensive properties. As an efficient technology for automatic connection of dissimilar materials, laser joining has great application potential and development value in the field of lightweight automotive design. However, due to the physical and chemical differences between metals and polymers, the formation quality of the hybrid joint is seriously affected by defects, low bonding strength, and poor morphology. Meanwhile, it is difficult to meet the demands for lightweight automobiles by considering only bonding strength as the target for forming quality. Therefore, the technological characteristics of metal–polymer hybrid structures for use in lightweight automotive applications are analyzed, the advantages and problems of laser-joining technology are discussed, and the characterization indexes and regulation measures of forming quality in laser joining are summarized. This paper which provides reference and guidance for reliable forming, intelligent development, and lightweight application of laser joining for polymer–metal hybrid structures

Transcriptome Analysis Reveals the Genetic Basis of the Resveratrol Biosynthesis Pathway in an Endophytic Fungus (Alternaria sp. MG1) Isolated From Vitis vinifera
Alternaria sp. MG1, an endophytic fungus previously isolated from Merlot grape, produces resveratrol from glucose, showing similar metabolic flux to the phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway, currently found solely in plants. In order to identify the resveratrol biosynthesis pathway in this strain at the gene level, de novo transcriptome sequencing was conducted using Illumina paired-end sequencing. A total of 22,954,434 high-quality reads were assembled into contigs and 18,570 unigenes were identified. Among these unigenes, 14,153 were annotated in the NCBI non-redundant protein database and 5,341 were annotated in the Swiss-Prot database. After KEGG mapping, 2,701 unigenes were mapped onto 115 pathways. Eighty-four unigenes were annotated in major pathways from glucose to resveratrol, coding 20 enzymes for glycolysis, 10 for phenylalanine biosynthesis, 4 for phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, and 4 for stilbenoid biosynthesis. Chalcone synthase was identified for resveratrol biosynthesis in this strain, due to the absence of stilbene synthase. All the identified enzymes indicated a reasonable biosynthesis pathway from glucose to resveratrol via glycolysis, phenylalanine biosynthesis, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis, and stilbenoid pathways. These results provide essential evidence for the occurrence of resveratrol biosynthesis in Alternaria sp. MG1 at the gene level, facilitating further elucidation of the molecular mechanisms involved in this strain’s secondary metabolism
Exploring Multi-Scale Spatiotemporal Twitter User Mobility Patterns with a Visual-Analytics Approach
Understanding human mobility patterns is of great importance for urban planning, traffic management, and even marketing campaign. However, the capability of capturing detailed human movements with fine-grained spatial and temporal granularity is still limited. In this study, we extracted high-resolution mobility data from a collection of over 1.3 billion geo-located Twitter messages. Regarding the concerns of infringement on individual privacy, such as the mobile phone call records with restricted access, the dataset is collected from publicly accessible Twitter data streams. In this paper, we employed a visual-analytics approach to studying multi-scale spatiotemporal Twitter user mobility patterns in the contiguous United States during the year 2014. Our approach included a scalable visual-analytics framework to deliver efficiency and scalability in filtering large volume of geo-located tweets, modeling and extracting Twitter user movements, generating space-time user trajectories, and summarizing multi-scale spatiotemporal user mobility patterns. We performed a set of statistical analysis to understand Twitter user mobility patterns across multi-level spatial scales and temporal ranges. In particular, Twitter user mobility patterns measured by the displacements and radius of gyrations of individuals revealed multi-scale or multi-modal Twitter user mobility patterns. By further studying such mobility patterns in different temporal ranges, we identified both consistency and seasonal fluctuations regarding the distance decay effects in the corresponding mobility patterns. At the same time, our approach provides a geo-visualization unit with an interactive 3D virtual globe web mapping interface for exploratory geo-visual analytics of the multi-level spatiotemporal Twitter user movements
Image Reconstruction of Multibranch Feature Multiplexing Fusion Network with Mixed Multilayer Attention
Image super-resolution reconstruction achieves better results than traditional methods with the help of the powerful nonlinear representation ability of convolution neural network. However, some existing algorithms also have some problems, such as insufficient utilization of phased features, ignoring the importance of early phased feature fusion to improve network performance, and the inability of the network to pay more attention to high-frequency information in the reconstruction process. To solve these problems, we propose a multibranch feature multiplexing fusion network with mixed multilayer attention (MBMFN), which realizes the multiple utilization of features and the multistage fusion of different levels of features. To further improve the network’s performance, we propose a lightweight enhanced residual channel attention (LERCA), which can not only effectively avoid the loss of channel information but also make the network pay more attention to the key channel information and benefit from it. Finally, the attention mechanism is introduced into the reconstruction process to strengthen the restoration of edge texture and other details. A large number of experiments on several benchmark sets show that, compared with other advanced reconstruction algorithms, our algorithm produces highly competitive objective indicators and restores more image detail texture information
