Detecting Floating-Point Errors via Atomic Conditions

    Get PDF
This paper tackles the important, difficult problem of detecting program inputs that trigger large floating-point errors in numerical code. It introduces a novel, principled dynamic analysis that leverages the mathematically rigorously analyzed condition numbers for atomic numerical operations, which we call atomic conditions, to effectively guide the search for large floating-point errors. Compared with existing approaches, our work based on atomic conditions has several distinctive benefits: (1) it does not rely on high-precision implementations to act as approximate oracles, which are difficult to obtain in general and computationally costly; and (2) atomic conditions provide accurate, modular search guidance. These benefits in combination lead to a highly effective approach that detects more significant errors in real-world code (e.g., widely-used numerical library functions) and achieves several orders of speedups over the state-of-the-art, thus making error analysis significantly more practical. We expect the methodology and principles behind our approach to benefit other floating-point program analysis tasks such as debugging, repair and synthesis. To facilitate the reproduction of our work, we have made our implementation, evaluation data and results publicly available on GitHub at https://github.com/FP-Analysis/atomic-condition.ISSN:2475-142

A Novel Model of Working Set Selection for SMO Decomposition Methods

In the process of training Support Vector Machines (SVMs) by decomposition methods, working set selection is an important technique, and some exciting schemes were employed into this field. To improve working set selection, we propose a new model for working set selection in sequential minimal optimization (SMO) decomposition methods. In this model, it selects B as working set without reselection. Some properties are given by simple proof, and experiments demonstrate that the proposed method is in general faster than existing methods.Comment: 8 pages, 12 figures, it was submitted to IEEE International conference of Tools on Artificial Intelligenc

After being introduced into China, body functional training has been widely applied to the training of high-level athletes (Wang & Liu, 2014; Cui & Qiu, 2013). However, it is still in the exploratory stage in college teaching. In this research, body functional training was designed for the physical characteristics of ordinary college students, and the physical health status of students was monitored in order to understand the promoting effect of body functional training on college students\u27 physical quality. It also provides theoretical and data support for the continuous improvement of body functional training courses. The research process was approved by the institutional review board of Zhengzhou University. Participants were 50 freshmen (non-physical education major, 17-19 years) enrolled into a college in central China. Among them, 25 students (13 female students and 12 male students) were selected as one group. The experimental group and the control group were given body functional training and normal physical exercise for 12 weeks (2 times a week, 1 hour each time), while the other physical activities of each group were the same. Physical fitness test and physical fitness item test were conducted before and after the experiment. SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used to conduct paired T-test on the data before and after the experiment, and independent sample T-test was conducted on the data before and after the experiment. In terms of physical health, there was no significant difference in body weight and forced vital capacity in the control group (P \u3e 0.05), but significant change in body weight (P \u3c 0.05) and significant increase in FVC (P \u3c 0.01) were observed in the experimental group. From the perspective of physical fitness, the results of the control group showed an improvement trend but not reached a statistical significance (P \u3e 0.05), while the flexibility of the experimental group showed a very significant change (P \u3c 0.01), the strength of lower limbs and upper limbs increased significantly (P \u3c 0.05), and the endurance improved significantly (P \u3c 0.05). The differences between the experimental group and the control group were statistically significant. Body functional training can improve the physical fitness of college students and has a positive effect on improving their physical fitness. In addition, body functional training can be used as an effective training method in college physical education. However, due to the limited of time and ability, experiments were conducted for only 12 weeks, future researchers could make more detailed studies on this training method

The purpose of this study was to realize the cognition and practice of sports education concepts from all walks of life in China, and eliminate the barriers of traditional systems and mechanisms, it will point out the direction for the training of Chinese competitive sports reserve talents to get out of the predicament and move towards high-quality development. The cultivation of reserve talents for competitive sports in China has gone through three stages: “combination of sports and education,” “combination of education and sports,” and “integration of sports and education.” Through analysis, it is concluded that the problems encountered by high-level sports teams in Chinese colleges and universities in the process of talent training. First, the sports department mainly cultivated reserve talents in the past, and the evaluation of athletes paid more attention to medals and honors. However, the main focus of the work of the education department is to enhance the physical fitness of the students and promote the physical and mental health of the students. Secondly, the lack of investment in training by universities leads to low coaching level and ability of coaches, which is the main factor restricting the training of athletes. Finally, in actual campus life, athletes spend most of their time in daily competitions and training, and their cultural performance is not good, which leads to their inability to truly master the cultural knowledge of their chosen major during their studies, it is challenging to choose a career as an elite in related industries after graduation. First, the main body of implementing the training of competitive sports talents in the new era in the sports department and the education department. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the coordination, communication and cooperation between the two departments to realize the sharing and sharing of resources between them. Secondly, universities should provide athletes with diversified teaching projects and practice forms. The teachers’ team is divided into two categories: physical education teachers and physical education coaches. Teachers are responsible for daily classroom teaching work to achieve the goal of coordinated development of physical exercise and cultural learning. The coach is responsible for sports training, through scientific and systematic training to enable students to reach a specific level of competition. Finally, universities should adopt learning planning guidance for athletes to help them complete their learning tasks, improve their cultural literacy, and enable them to master sports skills without delaying their normal study life

The Training Theory of Chinese University Sports Teams Based on the Complexity Paradigm

Under the background of the integration of sports and education, it is of great significance to deepening the training theory of college sports teams. This research puts forward the necessity of using the complexity paradigm to find a more suitable training theory for college sports teams. The training theory of our country is deeply influenced by the simplicity paradigm. The simplicity paradigm is based on reductionism, which believes that the research object comprises simple addition of single elements, showing a linear relationship. There are many general pieces of training in the training arrangement, the preparation period is too long, the special training is not deepened, and the actual training effect is poor. Lack of a composite coaching team, in addition to training and competition tasks, but also team building and management, too exhausted, no time to delve into training theory. When using traditional sports staging theory to make training arrangements, the student-athletes’ particularity should be taken into consideration. University sports teams are affected by the economy and school development, and the strengths of various sports teams are uneven. Universities with superior resources are in a leading position in major competitions, resulting in a significant gap in competition. The development of training theory should be based on the particularity of student-athlete status. The integration and in-depth development will improve the overall level of competition and enhance the driving force of innovative sports team training theory innovation

The purpose of this paper was to analyze the changes of college students\u27 physical health and the relevant influencing factors, and provide the basis for the school to formulate reasonable measures to improve students\u27 physical health. A total of 13052 undergraduate students (including 6852 male and 6173 female) from the city of Zhengzhou in Henan province were recruited for the purpose of the study. Mathematical statistics, literature review, questionnaire investigation, and logic analysis were adopted. In terms of body shape, BMI index of both male and female undergraduates increased, and the T test of BMI index showed significant difference (P \u3c 0.01). In terms of physical fitness, the lung capacity (M=4028.81 \u3e 3985.10, T =3.625, P \u3c 0.01) and the standing long jump (M=226.05 \u3e 217.80, T =22.054, P \u3c 0.01) were significantly decreased. The test scores of 50 meters, pull-up, standing long jump, 1000 meters and sitting forward bending were improved to different degrees. Girls showed significant improvement in all indexes except 50m (M=9.386 \u3e 8.071, T =63.067, P=0.832 \u3e 0.01). Only 7.51% of students pay much attention to their physical quality. The importance of physical quality is directly proportional to the frequency of exercise. 67.72% of students exercise for less than 30 minutes. The phenomenon of staying up late and being addicted to the Internet is very common. 1.64% of students never stay up late and 45.63% stay up late for online entertainment. Students and departments pay insufficient attention to physical health testing. Only 6.1% of the students read the test rules carefully before taking the test, and only 10.09% of the students said their department would urge students to learn the rules. It is likely that the subjective factors such as attitude, exercise habit, exercise frequency and daily work and rest jointly determine the physical fitness level of college students. The intensity of physical education courses, the ratio of sports facilities, the attitude of each department to physical testing and the rationality of physical health testing affect the development of students\u27 physical health level. We suggest putting forward from the aspects of innovating campus sports culture atmosphere, help students establish correct health cognition and exercise habits, enhance the educational function of campus sports classes and facilities, and perfect the management system of physical health test in colleges and universities
