    Radially Excited States of ηc\eta_c

In the framework of chiral quark model, the mass spectrum of ηc(ns)(n=1,...,6)\eta_c(ns) (n=1,...,6) is studied with Gaussian expansion method. With the wave functions obtained in the study of mass spectrum, the open flavor two-body strong decay widths are calculated by using 3P0^3P_0 model. The results show that the masses of ηc(1S)\eta_c(1S) and ηc(2S)\eta_c(2S) are consistent with the experimental data. The explanation of X(3940) as ηc(3S)\eta_c(3S) is disfavored for X(3940) is a narrow state, Γ=3715+26±8\Gamma=37^{+26}_{-15} \pm 8 MeV, while the open flavor two-body strong decay width of ηc(3S)\eta_c(3S) is about 200 MeV in our calculation. Although the mass of X(4160) is about 100 MeV less than that of ηc(4S)\eta_c(4S), the assignment of X(4160) as ηc(4S)\eta_c(4S) can not be excluded because the open flavor two-body strong decay width of ηc(4S)\eta_c(4S) is consistent with the experimental value of X(4160) and the branching ratios of ηc(4S)\eta_c(4S) are compatible with that of X(4160), and the mass of ηc(4S)\eta_c(4S) can be shifted downwards by taking into account the coupling effect of the open charm channels. There are still no good candidates to ηc(5S)\eta_c(5S) and ηc(6S)\eta_c(6S).Comment: 5 page

IntroductionThis study aimed to investigate the psychological well-being (perceived stress and anxiety) of Chinese family members during nursing home visiting restrictions and to elucidate the relationships among satisfaction with care quality, emotion regulation, perceived stress, and anxiety.MethodsAn online survey was conducted with a cross-sectional study design. From 18 to 29 January 2022, a total of 571 family members of nursing home residents completed online questionnaires comprising socio-demographic characteristics, satisfaction with care quality, emotion regulation, perceived stress, and anxiety. Mediation analyses were performed to estimate the direct and indirect effects of satisfaction with care quality on anxiety using the PROCESS macro for SPSS.ResultsThe results showed that approximately one-quarter of Chinese family members had anxiety symptoms during nursing home visiting restrictions. Satisfaction with care quality affected anxiety via three mediating paths: (a) through cognitive reappraisal (effect = 0.028); (b) through cognitive reappraisal and perceived stress sequentially (effect = −0.057); and (c) through perceived stress (effect = −0.212). The chain mediating effect (path b) accounted for 23.7% of the total effect.ConclusionsThese findings corroborated our hypothesis that cognitive reappraisal (a kind of emotion regulation strategy) and perceived stress mediated the relationship between satisfaction with care quality and anxiety during nursing home visiting restrictions. Efforts to address family members’ psychological well-being by focusing on cognitive reappraisal should be considered

Body-protective compound (BPC) 157 demonstrates protective effects against damage to various organs and tissues. For future clinical applications, we had previously established a solid-phase synthesis process for BPC157, verified its biological activity in different wound models, and completed preclinical safety evaluations. This study aimed to investigate the pharmacokinetics, excretion, metabolism, and distribution profiles of BPC157. After a single intravenous (IV) administration, single intramuscular (IM) administrations at three doses in successive increments along with repeated IM administrations, the elimination half-life (t1/2) of prototype BPC157 was less than 30 min, and BPC157 showed linear pharmacokinetic characteristics in rats and beagle dogs at all doses. The mean absolute bioavailability of BPC157 following IM injection was approximately 14%–19% in rats and 45%–51% in beagle dogs. Using [3H]-labeled BPC157 and radioactivity examination, we proved that the main excretory pathways of BPC157 involved urine and bile. [3H]BPC157 was rapidly metabolized into a variety of small peptide fragments in vivo, thus forming single amino acids that entered normal amino acid metabolism and excretion pathways. In conclusion, this study provides the first analysis of the pharmacokinetics of BPC157, which will be helpful for its translation in the clinic

    No full text
Purpose: To investigate the effect of Vitapex on the healing of periapical lesions and the expression of bone morphogenetic protein (BMP-2) during the periapical bone regeneration. Materials and Methods: Periapical lesions were induced in Sprague-Dawley (S-D) rats by an occlusal pulp exposure in the mandibular first molars and were verified by X-ray. Total of 36 rats were randomly divided into three groups, and they were obturated with Zinc Oxide Eugenol (ZOE), or with Vitapex, or non-treated as negative control group. The rats of three groups were randomly killed at week 0, 2, 4, and 8 after root canal therapy, and then the mandibles were processed for histological examination and immunohistochemistry analysis. Results: At week 0, only a few BMP-2 positive cells could be observed in all rats. While the expression of BMP-2 was dramatically increased in case of Vitapex group at week 2 and week 4, and then climaxed at week 8. However, no apparent changes were observed in ZOE group and negative group at week 2, 4, and 8. Conclusion: These observations suggested that Vitapex has a greater ability in inducing bone regeneration than ZOE by the expression of BMP-2 induction in the treatment of rats experimental periapical lesions

    No full text
International audienceA hybrid material of carbon coated Fe3O4(Fe3O4@C) is synthesized by chemical vapor deposition methodusing Fe2O3as starting material and acetylene as carbon source. The obtained material is Fe3O4spheres of∼400 nm coated by thin carbon layer with a thickness of ∼10 nm. As an anode material for lithium ion bat-teries, Fe3O4@C shows an improved electrochemical performance in the reversible capacity and cyclingstability, together with excellent rate capability. The performance is much better than the results obtainedfrom bare Fe2O3and commercial Fe3O4of the same size. In addition to the comparison of electrochemi-cal impedance spectra of the Fe2O3, Fe3O4and Fe3O4@C electrodes before and after 50 charge/dischargecycles, a surface contrast of the three electrodes before and after cycling is systematically investigated toexplore the influence of carbon layer on the electrochemical performance of the Fe3O4spheres

    No full text
This study analyzed the current status, hotspots, and emerging trends of global research on cognitive frailty, in order to provide new research ideas for researchers. Articles and reviews related to cognitive frailty, published from 2013 to 2021, were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on 26 November 2021. CiteSpace 5.8.R3 was employed for data analyses. A total of 2077 publications were included. There has been a rapid growth of publications on cognitive frailty research since 2016. The United States, Italy, England, and Australia have been the leading research centers of cognitive frailty; however, China has also recently focused on this topic. The National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology, and Shimada H. were found to be the most prolific institution and author, respectively. Co-citation analysis identified 16 clusters, of which the largest was cognitive frailty. The keywords which occurred most frequently were “older adult”, followed by “cognitive impairment”, “frailty”, “risk”, “dementia”, “prevalence”, “mortality”, “health”, and “Alzheimer’s disease”. Burst keyword detection revealed a rising interest in cognitive frailty models. By analyzing these publications from recent years, this study provides a comprehensive analysis of cognitive frailty research

Correlates of Insufficient Physical Activity among Junior High School Students: A Cross-Sectional Study in Xi’an, China

    No full text
Background: Physical activity plays an important role in individual health at all stages of life. However, evidence is lacking regarding the level of moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) and the related factors to insufficient physical activity (IPA). Methods: A sample of 1060 students aged 12–15 years from nine public junior high schools in China were invited to participate in this study. Physical activity was assessed by a modified version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire. Logistic regression was used to assess the factors associated with IPA. Results: 30.1% boys and 43.0% girls in our sample did not engage in sufficient physical activity. Obesity (OR = 2.2, 95% CI: 1.5–2.9) and high socioeconomic status (SES) (OR = 2.4, 95% CI: 1.3–4.8) were positively associated with IPA, whereas male sex (OR = 0.7, 95% CI: 0.5–0.9), underweight status (OR = 0.5, 95% CI: 0.3–0.7), and high family support level for physical activity (OR = 0.7, 95% CI: 0.6–0.9) showed inverse associations. Age was not associated with IPA. Conclusions: IPA appears to be a considerable problem in this sample of Chinese youth. Effective interventions to increase physical activity are needed and may include improving family support level for physical activity, especially for girls, the obese and those with high SES

    No full text
Objective To explore the interaction effect between overweight/obesity and alcohol consumption on hypertension risk.Design A longitudinal study of the independent and combined effects of hypertension risk factors.Setting Twelve provinces in China, including Beijing Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Guizhou and Chongqing.Participants Longitudinal data of China Health and Nutrition Survey, collected between 2011 and 2015, were used in this study. A total of 13 121 residents from 12 provinces were included and completed physical examinations and questionnaires at baseline.Outcome First incidence of hypertension. Results Over a mean follow-up of 4 years, 690 incident hypertension cases were reported. After adjusting for age, gender, education level, marital status, physical activity, diabetes and smoking, high body mass index (BMI) and light drinking (OR=5.07, 95% CI 3.06 to 8.41), high waist circumference (WC) and light drinking (OR=4.81, 95% CI 2.92 to 7.91), high waist hip ratio and light drinking (OR=2.85, 95% CI 1.84 to 4.42) were the highest risk of all participants in the three combinations. Multiplicative interaction measures were statistically significant in overweight/obesity and drinking/light drinking/heavy drinking categories in men (p<0.05). Additive interactions were observed between high BMI and drinking in men (relative excess risk due to interaction=1.75, 95% CI 0.85 to 2.65, attributable proportion due to interaction=0.56, 95% CI 0.36 to 0.76, synergy index=6.43, 95% CI 1.02 to 28.84).Conclusions Measures of body weight and size, particularly BMI and WC, appear to interact synergistically with alcohol consumption to increase the risk of hypertension in the Chinese population. Given that approximately 245 million people in China have hypertension, and that hypertension is a major cause of cardiovascular disease worldwide, our results may have implications for chronic disease prevention

Objective To explore the associations between the consumption frequencies of alcohol, tea and sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) and the hypertension risk among Chinese adults.Design A longitudinal study of the effect of beverage consumption on hypertension risk.Setting Nine provinces in China, including Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Shandong and Henan.Participants The longitudinal data of the China Health and Nutrition Survey from 2004 to 2015 were used. A total of 4427 participants from 9 provinces were included at baseline.Outcome First incidence of hypertension. Results During a mean follow-up of 8.7 years, 1478 participants developed hypertension. Alcohol consumption more than twice a week in young men (HR 1.86, 95% CI 1.09 to 3.18) or middle-aged men (HR 1.37, 95% CI 1.01 to 1.87) was associated with a higher hypertension risk. Middle-aged women who consumed tea frequently (HR 0.71, 95% CI 0.52 to 0.97), or young women who consumed SSBs less than once a week (HR 0.31, 95% CI 0.14 to 0.67) had a lower risk of hypertension. Conclusions High-frequency alcohol consumption increased the risk of hypertension in men, and frequent tea consumption and low-frequency SSBs consumption were associated with lower risk of hypertension in women. Consumption frequency of beverages was also suggested to be considered in the prevention and control of hypertension
