Charmless B(s)VVB_{(s)}\to VV Decays in Factorization-Assisted Topological-Amplitude Approach

Within the factorization-assisted topological-amplitude approach, we studied the 33 charmless B(s)VVB_{(s)} \to VV decays, where VV stands for a light vector meson. According to the flavor flows, the amplitude of each process can be decomposed into 8 different topologies. In contrast to the conventional flavor diagrammatic approach, we further factorize each topological amplitude into decay constant, form factors and unknown universal parameters. By χ2\chi^2 fitting 46 experimental observables, we extracted 10 theoretical parameters with χ2\chi^2 per degree of freedom around 2. Using the fitted parameters, we calculated the branching fractions, polarization fractions, CP asymmetries and relative phases between polarization amplitudes of each decay mode. The decay channels dominated by tree diagram have large branching fractions and large longitudinal polarization fraction. The branching fractions and longitudinal polarization fractions of color-suppressed decays become smaller. Current experimental data of large transverse polarization fractions in the penguin dominant decay channels can be explained by only one transverse amplitude of penguin annihilation diagram. Our predictions of those not yet measured channels can be tested in the ongoing LHCb experiment and the Belle-II experiment in future.Comment: 22 pages, 2 figure

An improved image segmentation algorithm for salient object detection

    Get PDF
Semantic object detection is one of the most important and challenging problems in image analysis. Segmentation is an optimal approach to detect salient objects, but often fails to generate meaningful regions due to over-segmentation. This paper presents an improved semantic segmentation approach which is based on JSEG algorithm and utilizes multiple region merging criteria. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is encouraging and effective in salient object detection

InSPeCT: Integrated Surveillance for Port Container Traffic

    Get PDF
This paper describes a fully-operational content-indexing and management system, designed for monitoring and profiling freight-based vehicular traffic in a seaport environment. The 'InSPeCT' system captures video footage of passing vehicles and uses tailored OCR to index the footage according to vehicle license plates and freight codes. In addition to real-time functionality such as alerting, the system provides advanced search techniques for the efficient retrieval of records, where each vehicle is profiled according to multi-angled video, context information, and links to external information sources. Currently being piloted at a busy national seaport, the feedback from port officials indicates the system to be extremely useful in supplementing their existing transportation-security structures
