Kurgudaki Toplum: Toplumsal Olayların Edebi Figürler Üzerindeki Etkisi

Ted Ankara Koleji Vakfı Özel Lisesi Uluslarası Bakalorya programı Türkçe A dersi için hazırlanan bu çalışmada, Orhan Pamuk’un Sessiz Ev adlı romanındaki Cennethisar uzamında yaşayan bireyleri siyasi ve toplumsal yönden etkileyen olayların düzeyi; bireylerin farklı sınıfları, kişilikleri ve kuşak farklılıkları ele alınarak incelenmiştir. Bu tez, insan ilişkilerini ve etkileşimlerini göz önünde bulundurarak 1970’ten sonraki Türkiye’de yaşanan toplumsal olayların edebiyatımızdaki figürler üzerindeki yansımasını değerlendirmek amacını taşır. Bu amaca ulaşırken İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrası politik bloklaşmanın ve 1968 düşünsel sürecinin Türkiye üzerindeki etkisinin hissedilmesi ve romandaki karakterlerin bu bağlamdaki özellikleri önemlidir. Yapıtın odağında olan Darvınoğlu ailesinin geçmişinin ve üç genç nesil figürünün hayatlarındaki değişimin 1 hafta içinde anlatımı da bu kısa tezde zaman ve kuşak başlıklarının kurulmasında etkili olmuştur. Böylece, dünyada yaşanan politik ve toplumsal olayların ülkemizdeki ve edebiyatımızdaki etkisinin büyük olduğu kanısına ulaşılmıştır. Bu tez çerçevesinde yaşanan siyasi ve toplumsal olaylar ve figürlerin bundan etkilenmeleri başlığı altında figürlerin toplumsal sınıf ayrımları, kişisel deneyim ve yaşanmışlıkları ve uzamın olaylar ve figürler ile ilişkili olarak farklı figürler üzerindeki etkisi alt başlıkları birbirlerine bağlanarak yapıttaki figürler yapıtın kurgusu üzerinden işlenmiştir. Bunun sonucunda ise farklı siyasi akımların figürleri etkilediğine; kimlik arayışlarının ve ilişkilerin ise bu olaylar aracılığıyla biçimlendiğine ulaşılmıştır. Figürlerin kişisel özellikleri ve sınıfsal konumlarının da yaşama bakış açılarını ve toplumsal olaylara bağlı olarak düşüncelerini de değiştirdiği tezine ulaşılmıştır. Bir başka tez çalışmasında da, toplumsal devinimlerin ve kentsel dönüşümün kuşakların arasında yarattığı değişim üzerinden gidilerek “kuşak çatışması” olgusu derinleştirilebilinir. Ayrıca, zaman olgusu derinleştirilerek karakterlerin zaman içerisindeki değişimleri kentsel dönüşüm ve sanayileşme bağlamında vurgulanabilir

A Look into Turkish Preservice Teachers’ Translation Skills: Case for Model Representations

International audienceMultiple representation enables students to connect different ideas and gain a deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts involved. The integration of mathematical model representation in order to model and interpret physical phenomenon and solve real world problems is one of the major objectives of mathematics learning in high school curriculum (NCTM, 2000). In this respect, this study focused on Turkish preservice teachers’ process of translation of model representation among four representation types. The result of this study indicate that Turkish preservice teachers lacked knowledge on the competencies of translation to and from model representations. Results also indicate Turkish preservice teachers’ tendency to use another representation type as transitional stage to model representations

Personel güçlendirmenin tükenmişlik sendromu üzerine etkileri: seyahat acentalarında bir araştırma

06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır.Gelişen ve değişen yönetim anlayışı, teknolojik gelişmeler ve müşteri beklentilerindeki değişim gibi birçok gelişmenin doğal bir sonucu olarak endüstri toplumundan bilgi toplumuna geçiş söz konusudur. Bu değişimle örgütler için işgörenlerin önemi gün geçtikçe artmış, çalışanların başarısı organizasyonların başarısı haline gelmiştir. Bu sebeple yüksek performanslı ve güçlü organizasyonların ancak girişimci, yetenekli, performansı yüksek ve yeni gelişmelere en kısa sürede uyum sağlayabilen güçlü işgörenlerle olabileceği ortaya çıkmıştır.Günümüzde iş yaşamı oldukça rekabet gerektiren ve zorlayan bir yapıya sahip olması nedeniyle, işgörenlerden hızlı, tercih edilen ve ucuza malolabilen çözümler ortaya koymaları beklenmektedir. Baskının giderek arttığı böyle bir ortam içinde stres çok sık yaşanan bir olgudur. Stresle başa çıkamayan işgörenlerde de tükenmişlik görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın problem konusu da işgörenlerde personel güçlendirmenin tükenmişlik sendromuna olan etkileri üzerine kurgulanmış ve seyahat acentalarında çalışan personel ile de saha araştırması yapılmıştır Böylece seyahat acentalarında personel güçlendirmenin tükenmişlik sendromunu nasıl etkilediğini ortaya çıkartmak çalışmanın temel amacını oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca seyahat acentalarında çalışan personelin güçlendirme alt boyutları ve tükenmişlik alt boyutlarının belirlenmesi de çalışmanın diğer amaçları arasındadır.Araştırmada saha araştırması yapılmış ve veriler anket yöntemi ile elde edilmiştir. Örneklemi oluşturan seyahat acentası çalışanlarından elde edilen 303 anket SPSS programı ile t-testi, ANOVA, korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir.Araştırmada seyahat acentası personelinin güçlendirme profili özgüven, motivasyon-cesaretlendirme, sınırlılık ve yetki olmak üzere dört boyutta incelenmiş ve bu boyutlar üzerinden analizler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tükenmişlik profili ise duygusal tükenme, duyarsızlaşma ve düşük kişisel başarı olmak üzere üç boyutta incelenmiş ve seyahat acentası çalışanlarını orta düzeyde tükenmişlik yaşadıkları bulgusuna ulaşılmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda,personel güçlendirme boyutları ile tükenmişlik boyutları arasında anlamlı ve ters yönde bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiş, çalışanlarda güçlendirme puanları arttıkça tükenmişlik puanlarında belirli düzeyde azalma görüldüğü sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Özellikle tükenmişlik alt boyutlarından düşük kişisel başarı hissinin önlenmesinde personel güçlendirme uygulamalarının etkisinin yüksek seviyede olacağı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda, çalışanın eğitimine daha fazla önem vererek onların kendilerini en iyi şekilde ifade edebilmelerine fırsat tanınmalıdır böylece, müşterilere karşı serinkanlı yaklaşabilecekler ve onları daha rahat anlayabileceklerdir.böyle bir ortamda stresten uzak olan çalışanda iş yeri kaynaklı tükenmişlik duygusu en az seviye olacaktır.Evolving and changing management style, technological developments and changes in customer expectations, as many as a natural consequence of development the industry is subject to the transition to information society. With this change organizations have growing importance for the employees, employees of the organization's success has become a success. For this reason, high-performance organizations, entrepreneurs and strong, capable, high performance and can adapt quickly to new developments may have emerged as powerful employees.Nowadays business is very competitive which requires having a structure and compelling because employees faster, and cheaper, preferred solutions are expected to reveal. Increasing the pressure within such an environment where stress is a fact too often experienced. Employees who suffer from with stress and burnout is seen. In this context, the problem subject of this study, determining the effect of employee empowerment on burnout syndrome and a field study with travel agencies staff. In addition to define the travel agencies employee?s burnout and employee empowerment sub-dimensions which is the other aim of study.Study has been conducted and data has collected with survey. 303 data were collected from travel agencises employees which are constitute of sample. This data was analized with SPSS and ANOVA, T-Test, correlation and regression analysis were calculated for analisis.In this study research to empowerment the profile of travel agency staff in the four dimensions examined and analysis carried out on these dimensions. In the same time the profile is examined in three dimensions of burnout and travel agent staff has middle level of burnout is the finding of study.As a result, employee empowerment dimensions and burnout dimensions have correlate between eachother and the opposite direction has been detected. When employee empowerment score has increased, burnout score has decreased.. Sense of low personal accomplishment subscales of burnout, especially in the prevention of the effect of empowerment practices will result in high levels have been reached.In line with these results, giving more importance to employee training them to express themselves the best possible opportunity to be recognized, so that customers will be able to close against the dispassionate and able to understand them more comfortable. In such an environment as stress-free feeling of exhaustion from the work of businesses will be minimal

The effect of communication skills of tourist guides on tourists’ tour experiences: a research in Nevsehir

Bu çalışmada, Nevşehir ilinde faaliyet gösteren Turist Rehberleri örneklem grubu esas alınmak suretiyle, turist rehberlerinin iletişim becerilerinin turistlerin tur deneyimi üzerindeki etkisinin ölçülmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla turistlerin, rehberlerinin iletişim becerilerine yönelik algısı anket yoluyla ölçülmüştür. Aynı zamanda turistlerin tur deneyimlerine ve demografik özelliklerine yönelik anket uygulanmıştır. Nevşehir’i ziyaret eden 94 yerli ve 296 yabancı turistten elde edilen veriler bilgisayar ortamında analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda turist rehberinin iletişim becerilerinin turistlerin tur deneyimleri üzerinde etkili olduğu görülmüştür. İletişim becerilerinin, tur deneyiminin alt boyutlarından ‘öğrenme’ ve ‘eğlence’ deneyimi üzerinde, ‘estetik’ ve ‘kaçış’ deneyimine göre daha fazla etkisi olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.Based on the survey in this study has been targeted, to what degree to effects of the communication skills of tour guides on the tour experience of tourists which based on sample group by tourist guides in Nevsehir. Fort this purpose, tourists’ perceptions of their guides’ communication skills were measured through questionnaires. At the same time, questionnaires were applied to guided groups for their tour experience and their demographic characteristics. Data obtained from 390 local and foreign tourists visiting Nevsehir, were analyzed by computer. As a result of the analysis, it is discovered that communication skills of tourist guides have an impact on the tourists’ tour experience. Communication skills are more effective on ‘learning’ and ‘entertainment’ experiences which are the dimensions of the tour experience than ‘esthetic’ and ‘escape’ dimensions

The role of local cuisine in the process of destination branding: case of Nevşehir

Mutfak kültürünün bir destinasyonun ya da ülkenin en önemli miraslarından biri olduğu yeni yeni fark edilmektedir. Doğal güzellik ve kültürel çekicilik açısından zengin bir yapıya sahip olan Nevşehir de kendine has zengin bir mutfağı bünyesinde barındırmaktadır. Bu bağlamda mevcut çalışma ile İç Anadolu kültürünün zenginliğini yansıtan yönü ile Nevşehir mutfağının turizm hareketinde bir çekicilik unsuru olarak kullanılıp kullanılmadığının saptaması ve ilin yöresel yemek kültürünün, bölgenin markalaşmasına sağlayacağı düşünülen katkının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca ulaşmak için, öncelikle bir literatür incelemesi yapılmış ve elde edilen bilgilerden yola çıkarak bir alan araştırması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama yöntemi olarak nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği tercih edilmiştir. Araştırma sorularından yola çıkarak hazırlanan formda açık uçlu sorulara yer verilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında Nevşehir’deki yöresel yemek sunan restoranlar, dört ve beş yıldızlı oteller, butik oteller, seyahat acenteleri ve kamu kuruluşlarının (il turizm müdürlüğü ve belediyeler) orta ve üst düzey yöneticileri olmak üzere turizm paydaşları ile görüşmeler yapılmıştır.It has been recently recognized that culture of cuisine is one of the most important heritages of a destination or a country. Nevşehir which is quite rich in terms of natural beauty and cultural attractions has an authentic and rich cuisine. Considering this, it was aimed to determine whether Nevşehir’s cuisine was used as an element of attraction for tourism with its reflection of the richness of Middle Anatolian Culture and to determine the probable contribution of local culture of cuisine of the province to region’s branding with this study. With this end in view, first a literature review was made and a field research was conducted based on the information collected. Semi-structured interview method which is one of the qualitative research methods was preferred as the data collection method. Open-ended questions were used in the question form which was prepared based on the research questions. Tourism stakeholders such as mid and upper level managers of restaurants which serve local cuisine, four and five-star hotels, boutique hotels, travel agencies, and local governmental organizations (provincial directorate of tourism and municipalities) were interviewed

The relationship between interpersonal emotion regulation and interpersonal competence controlled for emotion dysregulation

The aim of this study is to examine the role of interpersonal emotion regulation on interpersonal competency when controlled for emotion dysregulation. The sample of the study consists of 342 (235 female; 107 male) undergraduate students attending to the various departments of a private university in Turkey. The average age of participants was 20.81 (SD=2.29). The Interpersonal Emotion Regulation Scale, Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale and Interpersonal Competency Scale were used. Analyses were conducted through the SPSS 20 (IBM, 2011). Results of hierarchical regression analysis revealed that interpersonal emotion regulation and emotion dysregulation seem to predict interpersonal competency. After controlling for the effect of emotion dysregulation, interpersonal emotion regulation alone explains 18% of the overall variance in interpersonal competency. Interpersonal emotion has the highest contribution on interpersonal competency followed by emotion dysregulation

MINDFUL SELF-CARE DIMENSIONS AS AGENTS OF WELL-BEING FOR STUDENTS IN MENTAL HEALTH FIELDS

The purpose of the study was to examine the role of mindful self-care along with the sub-dimensions of physical care, supportive relationships, mindful awareness, self-compassion and purpose, mindful relaxation, and supportive structure in predicting well-being levels of students attending to mental health programs. A total of 262 undergraduate students (191 female, 71 male) within the departments of psychological counseling and guidance and psychology formed the sample group. The mean age of the participants was 20.31 (SD=1.45). The data were obtained through Mindful Self-care Scale (Cook-Cottone and Guyker 2018) and The Well Star Scale (Korkut-Owen, Doğan, Demirbaş-Çelik and Owen, 2016). The results of multiple linear regression analysis yielded that all of the mindful self-care dimensions significantly predict well-being. Regarding the contribution of each self-care dimension on well-being scores; supportive structure has the highest contribution followed by self-compassion and purpose, supportive relationships, mindful awareness, physical care and mindful relaxation. In addition, mindful self-care was found to explain 39% of the variance of the well-being scores in candidate mental health professionals.  Article visualizations

THE PSYHOMETRIC PROPERTIES OF MINDFULNESS IN PARENTING QUESTIONNAIRE (MIPQ) IN TURKISH SAMPLE

The aim of the study is to examine the psychometric properties of the Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire developed by McCaffrey, Reitman and Black (2017) in Turkish parents. At the beginning of the study, linguistic equivalence was examined. After observing that the scale is linguistically equivalent to the original form, the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was applied for the construct validity. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was employed to calculate fit indices and the results showed that goodness of fit indices of the scale are within acceptable limits for two factor (χ2/sd=1.927, RMSEA=.049, GFI=.90, CFI=.90, IFI=.90) and for the one factor model (χ2/sd=1.904, RMSEA=.049, GFI=.90, CFI=.90, TLI=.90). The Cronbach’s alpha internal consistency coefficient was found to range between .73 and .87 for each subscale and the total scale. The results revealed that corrected item total correlations were between .50 and .85 and the t-test results for the upper 27% and lower 27% of scores were significant (p<.05). Also, it was found to significantly correlated with the Parent-Child Communication Scale and the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale. To conclude, Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire appears to be a valid and reliable measure for Turkish parents.  Article visualizations

The Moderating Role of Authenticity in the Relationship Between Valued Living and Life Satisfaction in Undergraduate Students

The purpose of this study was to analyze the moderating role of authentic behavior on valued living and life satisfaction. The study group consisted of a total of 328 university students (249 female, 79 male) between 18-32 years old. The average age of the students in the study group was 20.3 and the standard deviation was 1.65. Participants of the study were selected through convenient sampling methods (Fraenkel et al., 2011). The data of this study was obtained by applying the Valued Living Scale (Wilson &Groom, 2002), The Satisfaction with Life Scale (Diener et al.,1985) and the Authenticity Scale (Wood et al., 2008). Hierarchical regression analysis was applied to test the moderating effect of authentic behavior on the relationship between valued living and life satisfaction. SPSS 20 package program (IBM, 2011) was used in the data analysis step. In this study, two models were created with hierarchical regression analysis and these two models were tested. In the first model, the individual effect of valued living on life satisfaction and in the second model, the moderating role of authentic behavior on this relationship was analyzed. Based on the obtained results, it was determined that valued living has positive and significant relationships with life satisfaction; as well authentic behavior increased the predictive power of the relationship between valued living and life satisfaction and moderated this relationship in a positive significant direction. Obtained results were considered under related information in the literature and recommendations were provided for future studies

Correlation of Premalign Servicovaginal Smear Results With Colposcopy and Leep

Aim: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the degree of compatibility between patients who underwent smear, colposcopy and LEEP / conization stages of cervical cancer screening. Materials and Methods: From January 2010 to December 2017, 145 patients who had undergone LEEP treatment for our Gynecology and Obstetrics outpatient clinic were included in the study. The compliance scores between LEEP, colposcopic biopsy and smear pathology results of these patients were retrospectively analyzed. For the statistical analysis, NCSS (Number Cruncher Statistical System) 2007 (Kaysville, Utah, USA) program was used for statistical analysis.Results: When HPV DNA result was positive and the pathology results of LEEP and colposcopy were examined, CIN 2 + 3 was detected in 62.9% of the cases and this rate was found to be significantly high. When the histopathological results of LEEP and colposcopy were compared, 14.5% of cases with colposcopy result CIN 1 and 35.2% of cases with CIN 2 had the same histopathologic result after LEEP. Noteworthy was the presence of CIN 1 in 2.1%, CIN 2 + 3 in 2.8%, and invasive carcinoma in 1 case without lesions after colposcopy.Conclusion: Smear, colposcopy and LEEP should be used as complementary to each other when appropriate patients for excisional therapy are identified. Clinical correlation of histopathologic results of these methods is important.When premalign lesions are detected, it can be considered that the biopsy done with colposcopy is reliable. However, for definite diagnosis and treatment, the cervical conization method should be accepted as the gold standard and information should be given to the patient in this way. Therefore, patients need to be directed to excision treatment if needed
