Theresearch conducted was due to the low ability of the second grade student’s speaking at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. They are not able to use English in their daily life activities in school or other places. This study aims at finding out whether the use of Peer Teaching Method can improve the student’s ability in speaking. The time needed for this research was three months from November 2010 to January 2011, in two cycles. The researcher set steps that walked in research of class action, they are: 1) Planning 2) Action 3) Observation and 4) Reflection. Cycle I and cycle two are compared to the result of action before using Peer Teaching Method. The resultproved that there was increasing gained score from cycle to cycle.Beside, theyhavemore motivation on trying to use the language in class or out, even on informal or special topic with their friends. In conclusion, the use of Peer Teaching Method This situation show that the mastery of speaking ability by using Peer Teaching Method can be said to be increasing

This article discusses about the attitude of the Muslim Brotherhood on nationalism and its relevance to the concept of ummah. Nationalism, for the Muslim Brotherhood, is a love of the homeland, liberating the land from occupation, and strengthening brotherhood. Nationalism’s goal is to guide Muslim men toward the light of Islam and to raise the banner of Islam highly in each hemisphere in reaching the worldly prosperity and merely for the sake of gaining the pleasure of Allah. The Muslim Brotherhood’s nationalism indicates a universalism which is implication of the belief bond. Therefore, their concept of nationalism is universal since it is not restricted by races, territories, and geographies. Furthermore, the attitude of the Muslim Brotherhood also indicate the orientation of the divinity that Islam can colors in every human life for the sake of gaining the pleasure of Allah and prosperity in the worldly life

    Aharonov-Bohm Radiation of Fermions

We analyze Aharonov-Bohm radiation of charged fermions from oscillating solenoids and cosmic strings. We find that the angular pattern of the radiation has features that differ significantly from that for bosons. For example, fermionic radiation in the lowest harmonic is approximately isotropically distributed around an oscillating solenoid, whereas for bosons the radiation is dipolar. We also investigate the spin polarization of the emitted fermion-antifermion pair. Fermionic radiation from kinks and cusps on cosmic strings is shown to depend linearly on the ultraviolet cut-off, suggesting strong emission at an energy scale comparable to the string energy scale.Comment: 14 pages, 6 figures. THE STATE OF ANAK KRAKATAU IN SEPTEMBER 1968

An fndonesian-.Tapanese volcanological team pald a five days visit to the Krakatau Complex in Strait Sunda between September 27 and October 2, 1968. Though no increased activity was recorded in the crater area of Anak Krakatau, morphological changes were observed in the top region of the volcano. These changes must be due to a minor phreatic eruption which is supposed to take place some time between March 1963 and September 1968.

Retarded Green's Functions In Perturbed Spacetimes For Cosmology and Gravitational Physics

Electromagnetic and gravitational radiation do not propagate solely on the null cone in a generic curved spacetime. They develop "tails," traveling at all speeds equal to and less than unity. If sizeable, this off-the-null-cone effect could mean objects at cosmological distances, such as supernovae, appear dimmer than they really are. Their light curves may be distorted relative to their flat spacetime counterparts. These in turn could affect how we infer the properties and evolution of the universe or the objects it contains. Within the gravitational context, the tail effect induces a self-force that causes a compact object orbiting a massive black hole to deviate from an otherwise geodesic path. This needs to be taken into account when modeling the gravitational waves expected from such sources. Motivated by these considerations, we develop perturbation theory for solving the massless scalar, photon and graviton retarded Green's functions in perturbed spacetimes, assuming these Green's functions are known in the background spacetime. In particular, we elaborate on the theory in perturbed Minkowski spacetime in significant detail; and apply our techniques to compute the retarded Green's functions in the weak field limit of the Kerr spacetime to first order in the black hole's mass and angular momentum. Our methods build on and generalizes work appearing in the literature on this topic to date, and lays the foundation for a thorough, first principles based, investigation of how light propagates over cosmological distances, within a spatially flat inhomogeneous Friedmann-Lema\^{i}tre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) universe. This perturbative scheme applied to the graviton Green's function, when pushed to higher orders, may provide approximate analytic (or semi-analytic) results for the self-force problem in the weak field limits of the Schwarzschild and Kerr black hole geometries.Comment: 23 pages, 5 figures. Significant updates in v2: Scalar, photon and graviton Green's functions calculated explicitly in Kerr black hole spacetime up to first order in mass and angular momentum (Sec. V); Visser's van Vleck determinant result shown to be equivalent to ours in Sec. II. v3: JWKB discussion moved to introduction; to be published in PR

INDOLAMINE 2,3-DIOXYGENASE (IDO) LEVELS IN LEPROSY PATIENTS WITH POSITIVE SEROLOGY

    Get PDF
Seropositive leprosy individuals have a tendency to experience a change into leprosy lepromatous type. Previous studies have demonstrated that the activity of indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase (IDO) in patients with lepromatous type leprosy is higher than those with tuberculoid type leprosy. However, no study has been available showing how IDO level can be correlated to seropositive subjects

Fermions on one or fewer Kinks

We find the full spectrum of fermion bound states on a Z_2 kink. In addition to the zero mode, there are int[2 m_f/m_s] bound states, where m_f is the fermion and m_s the scalar mass. We also study fermion modes on the background of a well-separated kink-antikink pair. Using a variational argument, we prove that there is at least one bound state in this background, and that the energy of this bound state goes to zero with increasing kink-antikink separation, 2L, and faster than e^{-a2L} where a = min(m_s, 2 m_f). By numerical evaluation, we find some of the low lying bound states explicitly.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

Background: The nutritional status of pregnant women are affected by daily nutritional intake. Daily nutritional intake during pregnancy depends on total macronutrient intake and micronutrient intake. The aim of the study is to describe daily nutritional intake from pregnant women in Temanggung,Central Java, Indonesia.Method: This study was conducted from September – December 2016 in Temanggung. This was a cross sectional study and the respondents were recruited using purposive sampling technique. Total sample of this study were 60 pregnant women. Intakes of macronutrients (Energy, and Protein), and micronutrients were calculated based on Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) Semi Quantitative and using Nutrisoft software, Demographic data were obtained by interviewing. Results Of the total 60 pregnant women, 40 (66,7%) were unemployed. The majority of educational level of the respondents  (48,3%) were Junior High School.  The mean gestational age were 6,70 ± 1,109 months. The mean intake of energy in 60 pregnant women was 2153,9833 ± 369 kcalConclusion: The majority of pregnant women in this study have adequate intake of both macro and micronutrient besides iron and folic acid
