It's Hard to Learn How Gravity and Electromagnetism Couple
We construct the most general effective Lagrangian coupling gravity and
electromagnetism up to mass dimension 6 by enumerating all possible non-minimal
coupling terms respecting both diffeomorphism and gauge invariance. In all,
there are only two unique terms after field re-definitions; one is known to
arise from loop effects in QED while the other is a parity violating term which
may be generated by weak interactions within the standard model of particle
physics. We show that neither the cosmological propagation of light nor,
contrary to earlier claims, solar system tests of General Relativity are useful
probes of these terms. These non-minimal couplings of gravity and

PENGARUH CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE TERHADAP CUSTOMER LOYALTY (STUDI PADA KONSUMEN WARUNK UPNORMAL DIPATIUKUR)
ABSTRAK
Kota Bandung sebagai salah satu tujuan wisata domestik yang paling banyak dikunjungi wisatawan lokal terutama Jakarta, menjadi sasaran pengembangan bisnis kuliner yang strategis. Berkembangnya sektor usaha kuliner di kota Bandung terlihat dari usaha yang didirikan, mulai dari kios jajanan, café sampai restoran eksklusif. Di Bandung banyak terdapat rumah makan, café, restoran dengan lokasi yang tersebar.
Berdasarkan hasil uraian diatas maka penulis mengadakan penelitian pada Warunk Upnormal Dipatiukur Bandung, yaitu “Pengaruh Customer Experience Terhadap Customer Loyalty (Studi Pada Konsumen Warunk Upnormal Dipatiukur).
Metode penelitian yang digunakan penulis adalah metode analisis deskriptif dan verifikatif untuk menguji hipotesis. Sampel yang diambil 83 pengunjung. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara dengan menggunakan penyebaran kuesioner disertai dengan teknik observasi dan wawancara.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Customer Experience yang terdiri atas X1 (Sensory Experience), X2 (Emotional Experience) dan X3 (Social Experience) memberikan kontribusi sebesar 69,6% dalam mempengaruhi Customer loyalty pada Warunk Upnormal Dipatiukur.

Anharmonic oscillation effect on the Davydov-Scott monomer in thermal bath
The dynamics of Davydov-Scott monomer in a thermal bath with higher order
amide-site's displacement leads to anharmonic oscillation effect is
investigated using full-quantum approach and the Lindblad formulation of master
equation. The specific heat is calculated based on the thermodynamic partition
function using the path integral method. The temperature dependence of the
specific heat is studied. In the model the specific heat anomaly as pointed out
in recent works by Ingold et.al is also observed. However it is found that the
anomaly occurs at high temperature region, and the anharmonic oscillation

A huge intraductal papillary mucinous carcinoma of the bile duct treated by right trisectionectomy with caudate lobectomy
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Because intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the bile duct (IPMN-B) is believed to show a better clinical course than non-papillary biliary neoplasms, it is important to make a precise diagnosis and to perform complete surgical resection.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>We herein report a case of malignant IPMN-B treated by right trisectionectomy with caudate lobectomy and extrahepatic bile duct resection. Radiologic images showed marked dilatation of the left medial sectional bile duct (B4) resulting in a bulky cystic mass with multiple internal papillary projections. Duodenal endoscopic examination demonstrated very patulous ampullary orifice with mucin expulsion and endoscopic retrograde cholangiogram confirmed marked cystic dilatation of B4 with luminal filling defects. These findings suggested IPMN-B with malignancy potential. The functional volume of the left lateral section was estimated to be 45%. A planned extensive surgery was successfully performed. The remnant bile ducts were also dilated but had no macroscopic intraluminal tumorous lesion. The histopathological examination yielded the diagnosis of mucin-producing oncocytic intraductal papillary carcinoma of the bile duct with poorly differentiated carcinomas showing neuroendocrine differentiation. The tumor was 14.0 × 13.0 cm-sized and revealed no stromal invasiveness. Resection margins of the proximal bile duct and hepatic parenchyma were free of tumor cell. The patient showed no postoperative complication and was discharged on 10<sup>th </sup>postoperative date. He has been regularly followed at outpatient department with no evidence of recurrence.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Considering a favorable prognosis of IPMN-B compared to non-papillary biliary neoplasms, this tumor can be a good indication for aggressive surgical resection regardless of its tumor size.</p
Tricritical Points in the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick Model in the Presence of Discrete Random Fields
The infinite-range-interaction Ising spin glass is considered in the presence
of an external random magnetic field following a trimodal (three-peak)
distribution. The model is studied through the replica method and phase
diagrams are obtained within the replica-symmetry approximation. It is shown
that the border of the ferromagnetic phase may present first-order phase
transitions, as well as tricritical points at finite temperatures. Analogous to
what happens for the Ising ferromagnet under a trimodal random field, it is
verified that the first-order phase transitions are directly related to the
dilution in the fields (represented by ). The ferromagnetic boundary at
zero temperature also exhibits an interesting behavior: for , a single tricritical point occurs, whereas if
the critical frontier is completely continuous; however, for
, a fourth-order critical point appears. The stability
analysis of the replica-symmetric solution is performed and the regions of
validity of such a solution are identified; in particular, the Almeida-Thouless
line in the plane field versus temperature is shown to depend on the weight

Work functions, ionization potentials, and in-between: Scaling relations based on the image charge model
We revisit a model in which the ionization energy of a metal particle is
associated with the work done by the image charge force in moving the electron
from infinity to a small cut-off distance just outside the surface. We show
that this model can be compactly, and productively, employed to study the size
dependence of electron removal energies over the range encompassing bulk
surfaces, finite clusters, and individual atoms. It accounts in a
straightforward manner for the empirically known correlation between the atomic
ionization potential (IP) and the metal work function (WF), IP/WF2. We
formulate simple expressions for the model parameters, requiring only a single
property (the atomic polarizability or the nearest neighbor distance) as input.
Without any additional adjustable parameters, the model yields both the IP and
the WF within 10% for all metallic elements, as well as matches the size
evolution of the ionization potentials of finite metal clusters for a large
fraction of the experimental data. The parametrization takes advantage of a
remarkably constant numerical correlation between the nearest-neighbor distance
in a crystal, the cube root of the atomic polarizability, and the image force
cutoff length. The paper also includes an analytical derivation of the relation
of the outer radius of a cluster of close-packed spheres to its geometric

Specialized dynamical properties of promiscuous residues revealed by simulated conformational ensembles
The ability to interact with different partners is one of the most important features in proteins. Proteins that bind a large number of partners (hubs) have been often associated with intrinsic disorder. However, many examples exist of hubs with an ordered structure, and evidence of a general mechanism promoting promiscuity in ordered proteins is still elusive. An intriguing hypothesis is that promiscuous binding sites have specific dynamical properties, distinct from the rest of the interface and pre-existing in the protein isolated state. Here, we present the first comprehensive study of the intrinsic dynamics of promiscuous residues in a large protein data set. Different computational methods, from coarse-grained elastic models to geometry-based sampling methods and to full-atom Molecular Dynamics simulations, were used to generate conformational ensembles for the isolated proteins. The flexibility and dynamic correlations of interface residues with a different degree of binding promiscuity were calculated and compared considering side chain and backbone motions, the latter both on a local and on a global scale. The study revealed that (a) promiscuous residues tend to be more flexible than nonpromiscuous ones, (b) this additional flexibility has a higher degree of organization, and (c) evolutionary conservation and binding promiscuity have opposite effects on intrinsic dynamics. Findings on simulated ensembles were also validated on ensembles of experimental structures extracted from the Protein Data Bank (PDB). Additionally, the low occurrence of single nucleotide polymorphisms observed for promiscuous residues indicated a tendency to preserve binding diversity at these positions. A case study on two ubiquitin-like proteins exemplifies how binding promiscuity in evolutionary related proteins can be modulated by the fine-tuning of the interface dynamics. The interplay between promiscuity and flexibility highlighted here can inspire new directions in protein-protein interaction prediction and design methods. © 2013 American Chemical Society
