    Security Analysis Of Smartphone Operating Systems

    This paper discusses the security threats and vulnerabilities in smartphone and compares the operating system on the basis of their strengths and weakness by keeping in mind the security. Our purpose is to evaluate how much protected these system are, what risks can make them vulnerable and how to make these platform more strenghtend. Our work cover four main Smartphone operating system those are android. iOS, symbiyan and blackberry and anatomize their security environment. This paper Analyze to decreases smartphone vulnerabilities, maintain secrecy, integrity and availability of smartphone basic applications. We address to explore their vulnerabilities, threats and security levels.

    Pattern and localization of headache in cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST).

    Introduction: Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis (CVST) is an underdiagnosed but not rare type of neurovascular disease. There is involvement of cerebral veins or dural sinuses instead of arteries. The vein or dural sinuses are blocked by thrombus resulting in increased pressure and leading to rupture of vessels and leakage of blood into the brain. Headache is the most frequent presenting symptom of CVST.Methodology: This descriptive study was conducted at Sheikh Zayed Medical Col-lege and Hospital Rahim Yar Khan. All consecutive patients with confirmed diagno-ses of CVST were included in the study. Diagnosis of CVST confirmed by MRI/MR Venogram. An informed consent was taken and the data was collected on a ques-tionnaire. Ethical permission was taken from Institutional ethical review com-mittee.Results: Headache was present in 51 (81%) of 63 confirmed CVST patients. Data regarding characteristics of headache from 51 patients was analyzed. The headache was associated with photophobia (4%), phonophobia (6%), loss of vision(6%), nau-sea (9%) and vomiting (42%) .The headache was not related with infarct and hem-orrhage on Computed Tomography scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The site of headache was not linked with site of sinus thrombosis.Conclusion: Headache is the common symptom in patients with CVST. Usually the headache in CVST is subacute, throbbing, unilateral or localized to some specific region i.e frontal, temporal and occipital. There is no relation between headache and site of sinus thrombosis. Also there is no link between headache and hemor-rhage or infarct on Computed Tomography scan (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Im-aging (MRI).Key words: Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis , Headache, MRI/MR Venogram

    Case StudyCase Study 7: This case study narrates an incident of random vibration spikes which occurred in year 2014 on one of the steam turbine bearings of a propane refrigeration compressor train. The random vibration spikes caused the turbine high vibration to trip leading to a train shutdown. This case study outlines how the random vibration spikes were successfully diagnosed through remote monitoring center, the root cause for the high vibration trips, and finally how it was mitigated. The case study also discusses lessons learned with respect to the discovery methodology using expert system available at site, and the importance of monitoring key operating parameters

    Human Cystic Echinococcosis: A Neglected Zoonotic Public Health Problem in Pakistan.

    This review represents an updated scenario on the epidemiology, transmission cycle, diagnosis and treatment surveillance and one health approach of a cestode parasite Echinococcus granulosus (E. granulosus) infection causing cystic echinococcosis (CE) in humans. It is life-threatening neglected zoonotic disease that occurs in both developed and developing countries including Pakistan and is recognized as a major public health problem. It spread through infected feces of canids and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. In Pakistan, rural lifestyle supports spread of the disease and it often presents with complications posing a high treatment cost. The life cycle of E. granulosus involves a definitive host (dogs and other canids) for the adult E. granulosus that resides in the intestine and an intermediate host (sheep and other herbivores) for the tissue-invading metacestode (larval) stage. Humans are only incidentally infected; since the completion of the life cycle of E. granulosus depends on carnivores feeding on herbivores bearing hydatid cysts with viable protoscoleces, humans represent usually the dead end for the parasite. Community awareness, mandatory reporting and responsible pet ownership are recommended for elimination of the disease. Key words: Human Cystic Echinococcosis, diagnosis and treatment

    Robust Stability Analysis of a Class of LTV Systems

    Many physical systems are inherently time-varying in nature. When these systems are linearized around a trajectory, generally, the resulting system is Linear Time-Varying (LTV). LTV systems describe an important class of linear systems and can be thought of as a natural extension of LTI systems. However, it is well known that, unlike LTI systems, the eigenvalues of an LTV system do not determine its stability. In this paper, the stability conditions for a class of LTV systems are derived. This class is composed of piecewise LTV systems, i.e. LTV systems that are piecewise linear in time. Sufficient conditions of stability are derived in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) by using the Lyapunov stability criterion. The feasibility of LMIs guarantees the stability of a given piecewise LTV system. Furthermore, uncertain piecewise LTV systems with scalar parametric uncertainty are also considered. Sufficient conditions for robust stability of this case are also presented, which come out to be quasi-LMIs, which can be optimized using a bisection algorithm to find the bounds of uncertainty for which the system is stable.     Impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on GDP: A Case Study from Pakistan

    This research study is related to FDI and GDP and the main aim of this research study is to validate the relationship between them. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is considered as a growth accelerating component that has received a great attention in developed countries even in developing and less developed countries during recent years. Now FDI has greater importance in closed economy. FDI benefits any economy in terms of technology, skilled labor and skills transfer to the host countries. For data collection, 30 year data from 1983 to 2012 was collected and the cobb-Douglas Production function is used to test the relationship. Our research variables are Gross Capital Formation (K), Labor (L), Health Expenditure (H), FDI and openness to trade in export oriented economy (OP*FDI). We have followed the Bhagwati’s hypothesis that was: FDI has greater impact on GDP in the export oriented economy. For data analysis, we have examined the descriptive statistics, correlation and regression model. For this we incorporate the production function in regression model. In brief, our results show that there is a positive relationship between FDI and GDP in Pakistan. But, Pakistan has not sufficient flow of FDI during past decades. And main point to consider which is evident through statistics and results is that there is greater impact of FDI in the open trade policy regimes. It is also concluded that FDI impact may be situation and culture related. So, the extent of FDI economic benefits cannot be predicted

    Inverse Optimal Control Design of a VTOL Aircraft

    A Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) aircraft is capable of short/vertical takeoffs and landings, thus eliminating the requirement of long runways. This feature makes them suitable for a broader variety of missions, generally not achievable by a traditional aircraft. The dynamics of the VTOL aircraft in the vertical plane has been used as a benchmark problem to demonstrate the effectiveness of different nonlinear control techniques, mainly due to being highly coupled and non-minimum phase. This paper presents the design of an inverse optimal control for a simplified VTOL aircraft model. The proposed control law is based on a Control Lyapunov Function (CLF) which exploits the normal form typically used for control design through feedback linearization.     Financial Development and International Trade inside Asia

    This study attempts to document the impact of "Financial development" on international trade between selected Asian economies and rest of the Asian region. Financial development index is used to represent financial development level which includes four dimensions from two perspectives; institutional and market. An "overall financial development index" is calculated by combining institutional and market level financial development indices. Effect of market and institutional dimension is measured separately on international trade of Asian economies with rest of the Asia. Different macro-variables are controlled including GDP per capita, total population, Inward FDI flow, Outward FDI flow and real effective exchange rates for modeling. Sample includes data for twenty years ranging from 1997-2016 for 16 large economies of Asia. Panel data modeling technique "fixed effects regression" is used with two different proxies of dependent variable. "Overall financial development" is found to have positive and significant relationship with international trade. Study confirms the robustness of the results to different measures of international trade. Results from fixed effects model confirm positive and significant relationship between all components of financial development and international trade, and between overall financial development and international trade in Asian economies. Singapore, Japan and South Korea represent highest levels of financial development while other countries showed relatively less development financial development level according to measure used in this study. An important policy implication is if a country wants to grow economically by using instrument of trade policy especially exports improvement, then it has to develop its financial system to efficiently fulfill "international trade finance" needs.
