    New extended generalized Kudryashov method for solving three nonlinear partial differential equations

    New extended generalized Kudryashov method is proposed in this paper for the first time. Many solitons and other solutions of three nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), namely, the (1+1)-dimensional improved perturbed nonlinear Schrödinger equation with anti-cubic nonlinearity, the (2+1)-dimensional Davey–Sterwatson (DS) equation and the (3+1)-dimensional modified Zakharov–Kuznetsov (mZK) equation of ion-acoustic waves in a magnetized plasma have been presented. Comparing our new results with the well-known results are given. Our results in this article emphasize that the used method gives a vast applicability for handling other nonlinear partial differential equations in mathematical physics

    Correlated decay of triplet excitations in the Shastry-Sutherland compound SrCu2_2(BO3_3)2_2

    The temperature dependence of the gapped triplet excitations (triplons) in the 2D Shastry-Sutherland quantum magnet SrCu2_2(BO3_3)2_2 is studied by means of inelastic neutron scattering. The excitation amplitude rapidly decreases as a function of temperature while the integrated spectral weight can be explained by an isolated dimer model up to 10~K. Analyzing this anomalous spectral line-shape in terms of damped harmonic oscillators shows that the observed damping is due to a two-component process: one component remains sharp and resolution limited while the second broadens. We explain the underlying mechanism through a simple yet quantitatively accurate model of correlated decay of triplons: an excited triplon is long-lived if no thermally populated triplons are near-by but decays quickly if there are. The phenomenon is a direct consequence of frustration induced triplon localization in the Shastry--Sutherland lattice.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

    Multichannel blind deconvolution using a generalized Gaussian source model

    In this paper, we present an algorithm for the problem of multi-channel blind deconvolution which can adapt to un-known sources with both sub-Gaussian and super-Gaussian probability density distributions using a generalized gaussian source model. We use a state space representation to model the mixer and demixer respectively, and show how the parameters of the demixer can be adapted using a gradient descent algorithm incorporating the natural gradient extension. We also present a learning method for the unknown parameters of the generalized Gaussian source model. The performance of the proposed generalized Gaussian source model on a typical example is compared with those of other algorithm, viz the switching nonlinearity algorithm proposed by Lee et al.     Trisubstituted-imidazoles induce apoptosis in human breast cancer cells by targeting the oncogenic PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway

    Overactivation of PI3K/Akt/mTOR is linked with carcinogenesis and serves a potential molecular therapeutic target in treatment of various cancers. Herein, we report the synthesis of trisubstituted-imidazoles and identified 2-chloro-3-(4, 5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl) pyridine (CIP) as lead cytotoxic agent. NaĂŻve Base classifier model of in silico target prediction revealed that CIP targets RAC-beta serine/threonine-protein kinase which comprises the Akt. Furthermore, CIP downregulated the phosphorylation of Akt, PDK and mTOR proteins and decreased expression of cyclin D1, Bcl-2, survivin, VEGF, procaspase-3 and increased cleavage of PARP. In addition, CIP significantly downregulated the CXCL12 induced motility of breast cancer cells and molecular docking calculations revealed that all compounds bind to Akt2 kinase with high docking scores compared to the library of previously reported Akt2 inhibitors. In summary, we report the synthesis and biological evaluation of imidazoles that induce apoptosis in breast cancer cells by negatively regulating PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway

    Antibacterial susceptibility of bacteria isolated from burns and wounds of cancer patients

    In this study 540 burns and wound swabs were collected from cancer patients of some Egyptian hospitals. The single infection was detected from 210, and 70 cases among wounded and burned patients, while mixed infection was 30 and 45, respectively. We recovered where 60 isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, 60 isolates of Staphylococcus aureus, 7 isolates of Staphylococcus epidermidis, 4 isolates of Streptococcus pyogenes, 25 isolates of Escherichia coli, 23 isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae and 27 isolates of Proteus vulgaris from 355 burn and surgical wound infections . All bacterial isolates showed high resistance to the commonly used ÎČ-lactams (amoxycillin, cefaclor, ampicillin, vancomycin, amoxicillin/clavulonic), and low resistance to imepenim and ciprofloxacin. Plasmid analysis of six multidrug resistant and two susceptible bacterial isolates revealed the same plasmid pattern. This indicated that R-factor is not responsible for the resistance phenomenon among the isolated opportunistic bacteria. The effect of ultraviolet radiation on the isolated bacteria was studied

    Some transition metal ions complexes of tricine (Tn) and amino acids: pH-titration, synthesis and antimicrobial activity

    Equilibrium studies have been carried out on complex formation of M(II) (M = Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)) with tricine (Tn) and L = amino acids in aqueous solution, at 25 °C and ionic strength of I = 0.1 M (NaNO3). The ternary complexes of amino acids are formed by simultaneous reactions. The concentration distribution of the complexes is evaluated. The solid complexes of [M(II)–Tn–Histidine (Hist)] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, magnetic and conductance measurements. The synthesized complexes have been screened for their antibacterial activities and the complexes show a significant antibacterial activity against four bacterial species: Staphylococcus aureus (Gram +ve), Streptococcus pyogenesr (Gram +ve), Serratia marcescens (Gram −ve) and Escherichia coli (Gram −ve). The activity increases by increasing the concentration of the complexes

    In this article, we apply the generalized Kudryashov method for finding exact solutions of three nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), namely: the Biswas-Milovic equation with dual-power law nonlinearity; the Zakharov--Kuznetsov equation (ZK(m,n,k)); and the K(m,n) equation with the generalized evolution term. As a result, many analytical exact solutions are obtained including symmetrical Fibonacci function solutions, and hyperbolic function solutions. Physical explanations for certain solutions of the three nonlinear PDEs are obtained
