The effect of radiofrequency modulation of 57Fe hyperfine interaction by rotating magnetic field

The effect of 57Fe hyperfine interaction radiofrequency (rf) modulation by external rotating magnetic field was studied in thin Permalloy foil by means of Mössbauer spectroscopy. The rf effect was investigated as a function of intensity for several rf field frequencies. The experiments show that the external rotating rf field causes considerable changes in the hyperfine pattern. The obtained spectra are in disagreement with those obtained by Perlow [Phys. Rev. 172 (1968) 319]. They also are inconsistent with magnetostriction hypothesis. Proceeding from the Mössbauer spectrum analysis one may conclude that the magnetization of investigated foil changes its direction in a complex manner. However, the undertaken experiments show that the essential number of Mössbauer nuclei experience the rotating magnetic field influence

Study of the spatial structure of the chloroanhydride of dichloromethylphosphonic acid by a combination of various physical methods

    1. In the liquid state, in solution, and in one of its crystalline modifications, the chlorohydrate of dichloromethylphosphonic acid exists as a mixture of two nonrotating isomers of Cs and C1 symmetries (gauche-gauche and gauche-trans orientation of the two CHCl2 group chlorines with respect to the P=O bond). The conformers are individually stabilized in the other crystalline modifications. 2. It is assumed that weak intramolecular bonds of the C-H...O=P type play a role in the stabilizing the conformer with the chlorine in the gauche-trans orientation. © 1977 Plenum Publishing Corporation

Investigation of Non-Stable Processes in Close Binary Ry Scuti

We present results of reanalysis of old electrophotometric data of early type close binary system RY Scuti obtained at the Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory, Georgia, during 1972-1990 years and at the Maidanak Observatory, Uzbekistan, during 1979-1991 years. It is revealed non-stable processes in RY Sct from period to period, from month to month and from year to year. This variation consists from the hundredths up to the tenths of a magnitude. Furthermore, periodical changes in the system's light are displayed near the first maximum on timescales of a few years. That is of great interest with regard to some similar variations seen in luminous blue variable (LBV) stars. This also could be closely related to the question of why RY Sct ejected its nebula.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures, 2 table

The possibility of synthesis of ZrO2 - Y2O3 ceramic fibers by means of impregnation of viscose material with solutions of zirconyl nitrate with the addition of yttrium nitrate and subsequent high - temperature roasting was considered. It was shown, that the efficiency of the formation of oxide fibers was largely determined by the concentration of the impregnating solution
