    PROTOTIPE BAHAN AJAR SYAIR BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL: MODUL DAN CD

    Makalah  ini  merupakan bagian dari research and development  untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar syair berbasis kearifan lokal untuk MTs kelas IX di kota Palembang dalam bentuk modul dan CD. Masalahnya adalah bagaimanakah prototipe/desain awal produk yang dihasilkan dari hasil  validasi ahli. Prototipe awal dihasilkan dari hasil persepsi dan analisis kebutuhan siswa dan guru dan hasil FGD sesuai teori Bold and Gall. Setelah itu dilakukan perancangan melalui 4 tahap yang disampaikan Jolli & Ballitho. Berdasarkan langkah-langkah yang sudah dilakukan, diperoleh desain awal/protipe modul dan CD bahan ajar syair. Protipe tersebut dilakukan uji validasi, untuk mengetahui kelemahan/kekurangan dan kelebihannya.  Uji validasi dilakukan oleh  ahli kebahasaan, ahli materi, ahli penyajian, dan ahli kegrafikaan, dengan cara mengisi instrumen yang diberikan peneliti. Secara umum hasil validasi para ahli menyatakan bahwa prototipe yang sudah dihasilkan ini dapat ditindaklanjuti untuk uji coba. Tiga ahli memberikan kesimpulan bahwa bahan ajar modul dan CD pembelajaran ini layak untuk uji coba dengan revisi sesuai saran, dan satu ahli menyatakan layak untuk uji coba tanpa revisi. Nilai untuk modul yang diberikan oleh ahli kebahasaan 24, ahli materi 21, ahli penyajian 23, ahli kegrafikaan 21, jumlah 89, nilai rata-rata 4,45 kategori sangat baik. Adapun nilai untuk CD yang diberikan oleh ahli kebahasaan 25, ahli materi 21, ahli penyajian 23, dan ahli kegrafikaan 21, jumlah 90, nilai rata-rata 4,50 kategori sangat baik. Semua catatan dan saran yang diberikan oleh para ahli tersebut diperhatikan dan ditindaklanjuti dengan melakukan revisi terhadap prototipe awal modul dan CD yang dihasilkan dan diperoleh prototipe kedua. Key words: bahan ajar syair,  modul dan compact disc, prototipe, validasi ahl

    PERCEPTION AND NEEDS ANALYSIS OF DEVELOPMENT POEM TEACHING MATERIALS BASED ON LOCAL WISDOM

    This article is a part of the research and development that aims to produce poem teaching materials based on the local wisdom for IX grade of MTs in Palembang in the form of modules and CD. The problem is how are the perceptions and expectations that needed by students and teachers about the material that will made. This study uses the procedures of Bolg & Gall and Jolly & Ballito. The subject of this research are the students and teachers on the IX grade of MTs in Palembang with academic year 2015/2016, one state MTs and two private MTs. Collecting data using documentation, surveys, interview, observations, questionnaires, and focus group discussions. Data analysis using quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results showed: 1) In the curriculum, it is a competence to understand the poem. In the textbook there was only a few materials about poem, no special book that talks about poem, no special literary of teaching materials about poem, poem examples that provided from outside, and learning activities doesn't compatible with the demands of SK and KD. 2) Teachers and students perception's data towards the poem teaching materials used, 87% of teachers and 88% of students stated that poem teaching materials used in schools is not appropriate. 3) Analysis of the poem teaching materials should be developed data is 95.9% of teachers and 85.7% of students claimed it’s a good thing that poem teaching materials develops in the module and CD form. Based on the results of forum group discussions (FGD) concluded that the existing poem teaching materials is not suitable with the curriculum, students are required to have competence in understanding poem. Poem as a literary work that has dulce et utile, contains the values of local wisdom that can be used to increase positive values for the students. The results is perceptions and needs analysis can be used as input for the developmentof poem teaching materials. Teaching materials that will be developed, expected to preserve the localwisdom and useful for the cultivation of moral values which identical to the value of character education

    THE NEED ANALYSIS OF WRITING MODULE WITH EDMODO

    Paper writing skills for Akamigas Polytechnic Students Palembang had not reached the expectation. They still had difficulties organizing the ideas into written forms and effective sentences. They did not understand the paper writing systematically, how to cite, and how to write the bibliography. They were caused by the use of limited teaching materials, by relying on PowerPoint as the main media. This research aimed to find out what the students needed of Edmodo-writing module. This research is a part of the identification of teaching material needs to explore the needs of the teaching materials. Therefore, this research applied the qualitative approach with descriptive method. The data were collected with a closed-questionnaire and interview. The need analysis showed a percentage of 97.1% of students preferred the Internet as the reference source to any other. Therefore, it is important to technology-based learning media that provided several applications. They could facilitate both lecturer and students to share and to learn the materials. The data showed 87.1% of students needed technology-based teaching materials, such as Edmodo. A percentage of 91.4% of students stated that they wanted technology-based teaching materials that were developed into modules assisted with Edmodo. Besides that, a percentage of 95.7% of students wanted guidelines to facilitate them applying the module and using the Edmodo

    AbstractThe problems discussed in this paper are, "How are the teaching materials that can push towards the creation of human beings who have IPTEK and also IMTAQ, facing the challenge of the Industrial Revolution of 4.0?" Elementary school teacher Education is one of the important containers to make the world of education play a role in facing the challenges of the current revolution. For that it needs to be developed and compiled the latest teaching materials based on character education. By preparing teaching materials that contain character education values that are in line with the access of learning and curriculum, will be produced graduates who not only have high knowledge and skills, but also have a attitude, personal and social, which is capable.     Prototipe Buku Perencanaan Pembelajaran Bahasa Berbasis Pendidikan Karakter dan Pendekatan Saintifik

    Abstract: The purpose of the research was to obtain an initial design of the Language Learning Planning Book Based on Character Education and Scientific Approach. Based on the results of the needs analysis that have been reported in the 3rd SULE-IC  2018 and after a material and pedagogical study, in line with the Borg and Gall development research theory; Richy; as well as Jolly and Bollitho's theories, a prototype of Language Learning Planning Book Based on Character Education and Scientific Approach was produced. The initial design of the resulting book consisted of introduction, contents/body, and cover, prepared in accordance with the guidelines for the preparation of textbooks, in line with the contents of the 2013 curriculum, according to the competencies to be achieved, containing positive character values that are expected to answer the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0 The resulting prototype can already be used for lectures and teacher needs in the field. However, to know the validity, practicality, and effectiveness, it is recommended that expert validation, one to one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test be conducted. Keywords: learning planning book, character education, scientific approach Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian adalah mendapatkan desain awal buku Perencanaan Pembelajaran Bahasa Berbasis Pendidikan Karakter dan Pendekatan Saintifik, sekaligus untuk menjawab tantangan revolusi industri 4.0.  Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan yang sudah dilaporkan pada SULE-IC ke-3(Alwi, dkk. 2018) dan setelah dilakukan kajian materi dan pedagogik, sejalan dengan teori penelitian pengembangan Jolly dan Bollitho (dalam Thomlinson, 2011), maka dihasilkan prototipe Buku Perencanaan Pembelajaran Bahasa Berbasis Pendidikan Karakter dan Pendekatan Saintifik. Desain awal buku Perencanaan Pembelajaran Bahasa Berbasis Pendidikan Karakter dan Pendekatan Saintifik terdiri atas pendahuluan, isi, dan penutup, disusun sesuai dengan panduan penyusunan buku ajar, sejalan dengan isi Kurikulum 2013, memuat nilai-nilai karakter positif yang diharapkan dapat menjawab tantangan revolusi insdustri 4.0. Prototipe yang dihasilkan sudah dapat digunakan untuk perkuliahan dan keperluan guru di lapangan.     PENGARUH METODE REAP (READ, ENCODE, ANNOTATE, PONDER) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MEMAHAMI TAJUK RENCANA

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh metode REAP (Read, Encode, Annotate, Ponder) terhadap kemampuan memahami teks tajuk rencana siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA.1 yang berjumlah 35 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan perlakuan metode REAP dan kelas XI IPA.2 yang berjumlah 36 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol dengan perlakuan metode konvensional. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan teknik pengelolahan data menggunakan perhitungan uji-t dengan program SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil tes antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas eksperimen sebesar 59,34 dan tes akhir sebesar 76,11 sedangkan hasil tes awal kelas kontrol sebesar 59,39 dan tes akhir sebesar 68,36. Hal ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan sebesar 16,77 pada kelas eksperimen dan sebesar 8,97 pada kelas kontrol. Hasil analisis data dengan uji-t menunjukkan bahwa t hitung> t tabel atau 3,515 > 1,995 dengan df =69 pada tingkat signifikansi 95% (α = 0,025). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan memahami teks tajuk rencana siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan Kabupaten Ogan Ilir. Dengan demikian, Ha yang berbunyi “Ada perbedaan antara kemampuan siswa yang diajar dengan metode REAP dan siswa yang diajar dengan motode konvensional dalam pembelajaran memahami teks tajuk rencana (μ1 ≠ μ2)” diterima. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode REAP lebih berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan memahami teks tajuk rencana siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan Kabupaten Ogan Ilir

    THE DEVELOPMENT OF INQUIRY METHOD BASED EXPLANATORY TEXT WITH PISA FRAMEWORK FOR JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

    Research and development of a module for reading explanatory texts based on inquiry methods and PISA standardized questions has been carried out in class VIII SMP N 52 Palembang. This study aimed to produce reading modules that suit the needs of teachers and students. The research method used was development research with the steps of research on the development of the Jolly and Bolitho and Dick, Carey Carey models which include identification of needs, exploration of material needs, contextual realization, production of materials, expert validation, one to one evaluation, small group and field tests. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, validation sheets, and tests. The results showed that the feasibility aspect of content and presentation obtained a percentage of 84% in the very good category, linguistic feasibility obtained a percentage of 90% and was categorized as very good, graphics obtained a percentage of 76% in the good category, validation questions received a percentage of 85% in the very good category. Practicality in the one-to-one evaluation stage and the small group gets a percentage of 80% in the practical category. The effectiveness measured in the field test is 0.49 and is in the medium category. Thus, the product in the form of a module for reading explanatory texts based on inquiry methods and PISA standardized questions can be used in learning explanatory texts

    HOW STUDENTS WORK WITH PISA-LIKE MATHEMATICAL TASKS USING COVID-19 CONTEXT

    School students can use a sequence of contextual tasks to learn mathematics. We can use Covid-19 as a phenomenon or context to exploit in learning mathematics. This article describes how students learn with mathematical problems that adapted PISA tasks and used the Covid-19 context. This study involved 29 secondary-level students, 15 years old, and each has different levels of mathematical skills. We use three phases of design research as the research method. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documents. Then, they were analyzed descriptively. The result showed there were ten problems developed, and students were asked to work with those problems.  We found that there are steps in how students understand and solve the problem. First, if students find a picture in the task, then they observe at the picture, read the question, and then start working to solve the problem. Second, if students find a table with less data, students refer to all data in solving the problem. Third if students find a table which has a lot of data, then some students calculate all of the data and other only compared among them. We’d like to encourage students to understand the problem before solving the problem. They do this by observing the pictures, comprehending the tables and also the questions
