MSCA applicants from South and Eastern European countries underperform researchers from North Western Europe before receiving the grant. However, the median difference disappears by the time of the grant and in the period after this. Due to a higher number of outliers (top performers) among the researchers from North Western Europe, the mean impact scores do remain significantly higher

Responsive Production in Manufacturing: A Modular Architecture

[EN] This paper proposes an architecture aiming at promoting the convergence of the physical and digital worlds, through CPS and IoT technologies, to accommodate more customized and higher quality products following Industry 4.0 concepts. The architecture combines concepts such as cyber-physical systems, decentralization, modularity and scalability aiming at responsive production. Combining these aspects with virtualization, contextualization, modeling and simulation capabilities it will enable self-adaptation, situational awareness and decentralized decision-making to answer dynamic market demands and support the design and reconfiguration of the manufacturing enterprise. The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Union H2020 project C2 NET (FoF-01-2014) nr 636909.Marques, M.; Agostinho, C.; Zacharewicz, G.; Poler, R.; Jardim-Goncalves, R. A physical model of energetic processes in a diesel marine generator set

    No full text
The paper presents a physical model of energy related processes taking place in a diesel marine generator set. The development of a physical model was preceded by an analysis of the design structure of the investigated object and the flow of parameters among the functional modules of the model object. The above was completed by developing of functional and topological models. Only their analysis allowed the development of the proper physical model

    No full text
The paper presents the formation steps to the mathematical model of the gas-dynamic processes occurring in the cylinders of the marine diesel engine driving a synchronous generator. All steps have been illustrated by charts of the modeled parameters as a function of the crankshaft angle. In addition, the paper presents the problem that occurs during modeling quasi-stationary dynamic processes

Końcowa część artykułu zawiera wyniki przeprowadzonych badań modelowych i empirycznych oraz ich analizę.The paper presents a research program containing basic stages such as: real object (motor–generator set), models: physical and mathematical processes occurring in the engine, development of a computer program, conducting model and empirical tests for an efficient and damaged engine and assessment of the model's adequacy. Next, the selected parameters used to assess the adequacy of the model in relation to the engine were described. The further part describes the test plan for the engine in two states of technical suitability (efficient engine and engine with cylinder 2 powered off). The final part of the article contains the results of model and empirical research as well as their analysis

The paper describes the preliminary physical model of gas-dynamic processes that take place in the cylinder of marine diesel engine. The model is a part of the work undertaken at the Institute for Construction and Exploitation of Ships at the Polish Naval Academy. The physical model is the basis for the development of a mathematical model of marine diesel engine, which will be useful for determining the energy efficiency of Polish ships, as well as for diagnostic purposes.W artykule opisano model fizyczny procesów gazodynamicznych zachodzących w cylindrach okrętowego tłokowego silnika spalinowego o zapłonie samoczynnym. Prezentowany model powstał w wyniku prac badawczych prowadzonych w Instytucie Budowy i Eksploatacji Okrętów Akademii Marynarki Wojennej.

The use of a mathematical model of marine diesel engine in a computer program

    No full text
The paper describes the application of the author's mathematical model of gas-dynamic processes for a marine piston engine based on a computer program. The developed mathematical and numerical model is designed to conduct simulation diagnostics. Therefore, it is possible to carry out calculations for motors in different technical conditions and observing influence of changes in technical condition on selected parameters of its work. Simulation of changes in technical condition is carried out by modifying parameters of structure’s model object. The article contains a detailed description of each options of the computer program. From the main program window, user can select type of engine model (supercharging method, cylinder number, work order, stroke and piston diameter and a number of other parameters). Through a window of simulation of known and recognizable damages such as: change in fuel dose for each cylinder, change in intake and outlet valves, leakage of piston-ring-cylinder system, change of injector hole cross section. Final windows show results of calculations in form of mileage parameters of engine as a function of crank angle

    No full text
The article presents a method for evaluating the technical condition of selected structural elements of the reciprocating internal combustion engine driving a synchronous generator. Th results of measurements of the electric generator parameters are the diagnostic information source. On this basis it is possible to determine the instantaneous angular speed marine engine crankshaft which, in turn, is the basis for reasoning about the correctness of the process of fuel combustion in the engine cylinders, and efficiency of the speed controller. By that means one can define the technical condition of the fuel equipment, sealing the piston-rings-cylinder system, and the correctness of the process of the working medium exchange in the engine cylinders.W artykule przedstawiono metodę oceny stanu technicznego wytypowanych elementów struktury konstrukcyjnej pomocniczego tłokowego silnika spalinowego napędzającego prądnicę synchroniczną.
