Producción y consumo de las energías renovables. La energía eólica en México

Abstract The global energy transition seeks the generation of energy through renewable sources. This trend has been proposed to reduce costs, pollute emissions and contribute to the care of the environment. Unlike other countries with significant investments in clean energy, the production of renewable energy in Mexico, at least until 2019, has had significant growth, mainly in wind energy generation. The objective of the article is to distinguish between fossil and renewable sources in the total production and consumption of energy in Mexico and in the southern region of the country, which is characterized by its wind energy potential, to identify the productive potential of clean energy, and whether energy demand is met or imported. With a quantitative approach, the research is exploratory and descriptive, on official data and statistics. Among the main results is that energy has productive independence in the region and is a possible long-term exportable material.Resumen La transición energética global busca la generación de energía a través de fuentes renovables. Esta tendencia se ha propuesto con la finalidad de reducir costos, emisiones contaminantes y contribuir al cuidado del medio ambiente. A diferencia de otros países con importantes inversiones en energías limpias, la producción de energías renovables en México, al menos hasta el año 2019, ha tenido un crecimiento significativo, principalmente en la generación de energía eólica. El objetivo del artículo es distinguir entre las fuentes fósiles y renovables en el total de la producción y el consumo de energía en México y en la región sur del país, que se caracteriza por su potencial en energía eólica, para identificar el potencial productivo de las energías limpias, y si se satisface la demanda energética o se recurre a la importación. Con un enfoque cuantitativo, la investigación es de tipo exploratoria y descriptiva, sobre los datos y estadísticas oficiales. Entre los principales resultados se encuentra que la energía tiene una independencia productiva en la región y una posible materia exportable a largo plazo.&nbsp
