    Derivatives of 1-hydroxy-2,5-dimethylpiperid-4-one substituted at the hydroxy and the carbonyl groups have now been prepared and the IR spectra of some of them have been studied. 1-Nitroso-2,5-dimethylpiperid-4-one has been prepared from 2,5-dimethylpiperid-4-one and subjected to various reactions at the nitroso- and the carbonyl groups.
