In present paper, we prove the monotonicity of two functions involving the gamma function Γ(x)\Gamma(x) and relating to the nn-dimensional volume of the unit ball Bn\mathbb{B}^n in Rn\mathbb{R}^n.Comment: 7 page

Transport properties and anisotropy in rare earth doped CaFe2As2 single crystals with Tc above 40 K

In this paper we report the superconductivity above 40 K in the electron doping single crystal Ca1-xRexFe2As2 (Re = La, Ce, Pr). The x-ray diffraction patterns indicate high crystalline quality and c-axis orientation. the resistivity anomaly in the parent compound CaFe2As2 is completely suppressed by partial replacement of Ca by rare earth and a superconducting transition reaches as high as 43 K, which is higher than the value in electron doping FeAs-122 compounds by substituting Fe ions with transition metal, even surpasses the highest values observed in hole doping systems with a transition temperature up to 38 K. The upper critical field has been determined with the magnetic field along ab-plane and c-axis, yielding the anisotropy of 2~3. Hall-effect measurements indicate that the conduction in this material is dominated by electron like charge carriers. Our results explicitly demonstrate the feasibility of inducing superconductivity in Ca122 compounds via electron doping using aliovalent rare earth substitution into the alkaline earth site, which should add more ingredients to the underlying physics of the iron-based superconductors.Comment: 21 pages, 7 figure

A new class of (2+1)(2+1)-d topological superconductor with Z8\mathbb{Z}_8 topological classification

The classification of topological states of matter depends on spatial dimension and symmetry class. For non-interacting topological insulators and superconductors the topological classification is obtained systematically and nontrivial topological insulators are classified by either integer or Z2Z_2. The classification of interacting topological states of matter is much more complicated and only special cases are understood. In this paper we study a new class of topological superconductors in (2+1)(2+1) dimensions which has time-reversal symmetry and a Z2\mathbb{Z}_2 spin conservation symmetry. We demonstrate that the superconductors in this class is classified by Z8\mathbb{Z}_8 when electron interaction is considered, while the classification is Z\mathbb{Z} without interaction.Comment: 5 pages main text and 3 pages appendix. 1 figur

    Structure propagation for zero-shot learning

The key of zero-shot learning (ZSL) is how to find the information transfer model for bridging the gap between images and semantic information (texts or attributes). Existing ZSL methods usually construct the compatibility function between images and class labels with the consideration of the relevance on the semantic classes (the manifold structure of semantic classes). However, the relationship of image classes (the manifold structure of image classes) is also very important for the compatibility model construction. It is difficult to capture the relationship among image classes due to unseen classes, so that the manifold structure of image classes often is ignored in ZSL. To complement each other between the manifold structure of image classes and that of semantic classes information, we propose structure propagation (SP) for improving the performance of ZSL for classification. SP can jointly consider the manifold structure of image classes and that of semantic classes for approximating to the intrinsic structure of object classes. Moreover, the SP can describe the constrain condition between the compatibility function and these manifold structures for balancing the influence of the structure propagation iteration. The SP solution provides not only unseen class labels but also the relationship of two manifold structures that encode the positive transfer in structure propagation. Experimental results demonstrate that SP can attain the promising results on the AwA, CUB, Dogs and SUN databases

Competition of different coupling schemes in atomic nuclei

Shell model calculations reveal that the ground and low-lying yrast states of the N=ZN=Z nuclei 4692^{92}_{46}Pd and 96^{96}Cd are mainly built upon isoscalar spin-aligned neutron-proton pairs each carrying the maximum angular momentum J=9 allowed by the shell 0g9/20g_{9/2} which is dominant in this nuclear region. This mode of excitation is unique in nuclei and indicates that the spin-aligned pair has to be considered as an essential building block in nuclear structure calculations. In this contribution we will discuss this neutron-proton pair coupling scheme in detail. In particular, we will explore the competition between the normal monopole pair coupling and the spin-aligned coupling schemes. Such a coupling may be useful in elucidating the structure properties of N=ZN=Z and neighboring nuclei.Comment: 10 pages, 7 figures, 1 table. Levinson's theorem for the Schr\"{o}dinger equation in two dimensions

Levinson's theorem for the Schr\"{o}dinger equation with a cylindrically symmetric potential in two dimensions is re-established by the Sturm-Liouville theorem. The critical case, where the Schr\"{o}dinger equation has a finite zero-energy solution, is analyzed in detail. It is shown that, in comparison with Levinson's theorem in non-critical case, the half bound state for PP wave, in which the wave function for the zero-energy solution does not decay fast enough at infinity to be square integrable, will cause the phase shift of PP wave at zero energy to increase an additional Ï€\pi.Comment: Latex 11 pages, no figure and accepted by P.R.A (in August); Email: [email protected], [email protected]
