    Get PDF
The proposal and implementation of an effective motivation program is one of the key management tasks of a company. Improperly designed and applied motivation programs can have a negative impact on employees, who are not motivated to achieve maximum performance. The paper will also deal with the problems of employee motivation and the motivation programs in a selected industrial company. The motivation structure analysis will be based on the general knowledge of the theory of motivation, together with the analysis of the employees' motivation profiles. The fundamental tool used in this process is a cluster analysis and its usage in the creation of motivation programs. The analysis of motivation factors and their order will be made according to the level of importance they have for the employees, which will be assessed by the Questionnaire Method. The Cluster Analysis will be used due to the possibility of creating various types of motivation programs. The result will be a proposal for the creation of methodological unified motivation programs by using multi-factor statistical analysis (cluster analysis). On the basis of the results obtained from our analysis, we will be able to determine if it is possible to develop a unified motivation program for employees within a selected industrial company. The role of GHRM practices towards organizational commitment: A mediation analysis of green human capital

    Get PDF
There are rare studies that have attempted to explore the association among green human resource management (GHRM) and organizational commitment in the existing literature. Besides, the mediating role of green human capital has also garnered little attention in the literature. Hence, the present study intends to address the research gap by extending the ability-motivation-opportunity theory (AMO) to determine the indirect and direct impact of GHRM in the dairy companies which has so far neglected in Pakistan. A convenience sampling technique was deployed to obtain data from 287 respondents through self-administered survey. SmartPLS (3.2.9) software was used to analyze the structural and measurement model. The results demonstrate the direct effect of green recruitment and selection and green training and development on organizational commitment. Also, green human capital contributes an essential role in mediating the effects of green recruitment and selection, green training, and development on organization commitment. The present study suggests that GHRM practices play a crucial role in the deployment of an environmental policy aimed at promoting green practices in the workplace. The findings provide guidelines to policymakers and managers regarding GHRM to promote environmental culture and employee green behavior at the workplace.Internal Grant Agency (IGA) in Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Czech Republic [IGA/FAME/2020/010, IGA/FAME/2019/013]IGA/FAME/2019/013, IGA/FAME/2020/01

Understanding revisit intention towards religious attraction of Kartarpur temple: Moderation analysis of religiosity

    Get PDF
This study examines the effect of destination image, cultural contact and perceived risk on revisit intention of Sikh pilgrims to Kartarpur temple, mediated by tourist satisfaction. The literature has debated the moderating effect of religiosity in a different tourism context. However, studies rarely investigate the moderating role of religiosity in the relationship of destination image, cultural contact and perceived risk with tourist satisfaction. This study follows a cross-sectional approach and self-administered survey method to collect data from 613 Sikh pilgrims who visited Kartarpur temple. A quantitative study with covariance-based structural equation modeling was employed to examine the research hypothesis through Amos 2 version. The results show that tourists' satisfaction partially mediates the relationship of destination image and cultural contact with revisit intention. Nevertheless, perceived risk significantly affects the revisit intention effect via tourist satisfaction. So, tourist satisfaction was the significant mediator between destination image, cultural contact, perceived risk and revisit intentions. The findings confirm that the religiosity of Sikh pilgrims significantly moderates the relationship of destination image, cultural contact and perceived risk with revisit intentions. Practically, the findings offer the managers of such attractions to formulate suitable marketing strategies for developing the revisit intention and sustainable branding.Internal Grant Agency of FaME TBU [IGA/FaME/2021/009, IGA-K-TRINITY/2022/005]IGA-K-TRINITY/2022/00

Performance of academic staff during COVID-19 pandemic-induced work transformations: An IPO model for stress management

    Get PDF
The COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected all spheres of services-related business, including the higher education sector. As a pre-emptive measure, almost all traditional educational institutions have been transformed into virtual organizations. This pandemic-induced work transition has created stress among academic staff and has hampered their performance. The present study aims to examine the impact of leadership behaviors, e-training, and employment security on the stress management process, consequently improving employee performance during and after the pandemic. Based on the IPO (input–process–output) model, this study examines the effect of leadership behavior, e-training, and employment security on teaching staff’s tasks and adaptive and contextual performance, mediated by stress management. To test the conceptual model, data were collected from the teaching staff of Malaysian universities. The structural equation modeling technique was used for data analysis, while bootstrapping with the maximum likelihood estimator was used to confirm the mediational role of stress management. The study revealed that task-and relation-oriented leadership behavior, e-training, and employment security positively influence stress management and employee performance in virtual organizations. Moreover, stress management acts as a full mediator in the relationship between leadership behavior and employee performance, while partial mediation occurs between e-training, employment security, and employee performance. This study offers valuable insights into the literature by proposing leadership behavior, e-training, and employment security as input in the stress management process to attain the performance output of teaching staff. Higher education institutions should come forward to assist their teaching employees in managing their stress levels for better outcomes. Copyright: © 2022 by the authors. Does Increasing Farm Plot Size Influence the Visual Quality of Everyday Agricultural Landscapes?

peer reviewedThe increase in farm plot size is one of the most apparent and significant trends that have influenced central and eastern European agricultural landscapes since the 1950s. In many countries where the average plot size in traditional land-use systems did not exceed several hectares, present-day plots reach the size of 200 ha or more. In recent times, efforts have been made to reverse this trend to restore important ecosystem functions and to re-establish the aesthetic values of everyday landscapes. Visual landscape quality is becoming a major driving force in the development of agricultural landscapes with known effects on people's well-being and health, and this quality plays an increasingly important role in agricultural policies. However, no comprehensive research has been carried out to establish the links between perceived visual landscape quality and the scale of the farm plot pattern. The current study was therefore designed to determine whether greater farmland pattern heterogeneity, i.e., smaller farm plot sizes, is consistent with higher visual preferences. The results showed that people preferred a small-scale plot pattern in landscapes characterized by a flat relief and a low proportion of woody vegetation. These homogeneous landscapes were also overall considered significantly less beautiful than more diverse landscapes. However, even a moderate decrease in plot size notably improved these low beauty scores. These preferences were displayed consistently by all respondents, and most strongly by older respondents, respondents with a higher level of education, and those professionally engaged in landscape design or conservation. The high level of consensus among respondents in rejecting further land consolidation in homogeneous landscapes, which form a large proportion of European farmland, underlines that the results of this study provide a valid argument for discussing sustainable agricultural plot sizes as part of agricultural policy-making

Human Resources Key Performance Indicators As An Integral Part Of Human Resources Accounting

    No full text
The paper focuses on one of the "non-traditional" fields of the Enterprise Accounting System - i.e. Human Resources Accounting (hereinafter "HRA"). The focal point of this paper is the analysis of the possibilities for the use of the qualitative indicators of HRA in a selected industrial enterprise. In contrast to the quantitative indicators, the measurement of these qualitative values is more difficult and their enumeration is one of the main problems of HRA, e.g. motivation, employee satisfaction, the quality of the competencies of individual employees, or performance assessments of employees can be ranked among such instruments. There is no universal guide for estimating these values in specialized literature. Due to this fact, we tested a methodology for the measurement of these qualitative values by means of some selected statistical methods in carefully-chosen Czech and Slovak industrial enterprises. The paper also deals with an outline of motivation factor analysis methods in a selected industrial enterprise
