Narrowing Trees for Syntactically Deterministic Conditional Term Rewriting Systems

    Get PDF
A narrowing tree for a constructor term rewriting system and a pair of terms is a finite representation for the space of all possible innermost-narrowing derivations that start with the pair and end with non-narrowable terms. Narrowing trees have grammar representations that can be considered regular tree grammars. Innermost narrowing is a counterpart of constructor-based rewriting, and thus, narrowing trees can be used in analyzing constructor-based rewriting to normal forms. In this paper, using grammar representations, we extend narrowing trees to syntactically deterministic conditional term rewriting systems that are constructor systems. We show that narrowing trees are useful to prove two properties of a normal conditional term rewriting system: one is infeasibility of conditional critical pairs and the other is quasi-reducibility

Few-shot Personalized Saliency Prediction Based on Inter-personnel Gaze Patterns

This paper presents few-shot personalized saliency prediction based on inter-personnel gaze patterns. In contrast to a general saliency map, a personalized saliecny map (PSM) has been great potential since its map indicates the person-specific visual attention that is useful for obtaining individual visual preferences from heterogeneity of gazed areas. The PSM prediction is needed for acquiring the PSM for the unseen image, but its prediction is still a challenging task due to the complexity of individual gaze patterns. For modeling individual gaze patterns for various images, although the eye-tracking data obtained from each person is necessary to construct PSMs, it is difficult to acquire the massive amounts of such data. Here, one solution for efficient PSM prediction from the limited amount of data can be the effective use of eye-tracking data obtained from other persons. In this paper, to effectively treat the PSMs of other persons, we focus on the effective selection of images to acquire eye-tracking data and the preservation of structural information of PSMs of other persons. In the experimental results, we confirm that the above two focuses are effective for the PSM prediction with the limited amount of eye-tracking data.Comment: 5pages, 3 figure

    catena-Poly[[(ethanol-κO)sodium(I)]-di-μ-aqua-[(rac-2′-hydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl-2-yl phosphato-κO)sodium]-tri-μ-aqua]

The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, [Na2(C20H13O5P)(C2H6O)(H2O)5]n, consists of two NaI ions, one 2′-hydroxy-1,1′-binaphthyl-2-yl phosphate anion, one ethanol ligand and five water molecules of crysallization. Each NaI ion has a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The phosphate anion coordinates to one NaI ion and the ethanol molecule coordinates to the other. The five water molecules bridge the NaI ions, forming an inorganic chain structure along the b axis. The chains are connected by O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds into an organic–inorganic hybrid layer parallel to (001)

Photoluminescence Enhancement of β-FeSi2 Nanocrystals Controlled by Transport of Holes in Cu-doped n-type Si Substrates

We have investigated PL behavior of β-FeSi2 nanocrystals controlled by transport of holes in Cu-doped n-type Si substrates. PL enhancement was observed and PCI-PL measurements revealed that PL enhancement was attributed to a transport process of holes with a larger time constant in Cu-doped n-Si substrate in which an interval trap process is controlled by Cu doping.International Conference and Summer School on Advanced Silicide Technology 2014, July 19–21, 2014, Tokyo, Japa

IR Absorption Nnalysis of Oxidation Behaviors of Nano-composite Phases with β-FeSi2 Nanocrystals and Si

We have investigated oxidation behaviors of nano-composite phase with β-FeSi2 nanocrystals (β-NCs) and Si on Si substrates. IR absorption measurements revealed that only oxidation of Si into SiO2 proceeded in the nano-composite phase. This fact is very important for realization of a novel composite phase with β-NCs and SiO2, which may contribute to enhancement of light emission and to prevent a large thermal quenching of light emission observed in the composite phase with β-NCs and Si.International Conference and Summer School on Advanced Silicide Technology 2014, July 19–21, 2014, Tokyo, Japa

Blood pressure in heart failure management and prevention

    Get PDF
Hypertension is a leading cause of heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases. Its role in the pathogenesis of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) differs from that in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Moreover, rigorous blood pressure control may reduce the incidence of heart failure. However, once heart failure develops, prognosis is affected by blood pressure, which may differ between patients with and without heart failure. Therefore, the association between guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) for heart failure and its uptitration must be considered for blood pressure management and should not be overlooked. Heart failure medications affect the blood pressure and efficacy per baseline blood pressure value. This review discusses the potential mechanisms by which hypertension leads to HFrEF or HFpEF, the impact of hypertension on incident heart failure, and the recommended approaches for blood pressure management in patients with heart failure. </p

Enhancement of Photoluminescence from Cu-doped β-FeSi2/Si Heterostructures

We have investigated photoluminescence (PL) behaviors of the Cu-doped β-FeSi2 thin film/Si heterostructure. Pronounced enhancement of an intrinsic A band and an impurity-related C band emissions has been observed in all the Cu-doped samples. The photo-carrier injection (PCI)-PL measurements have revealed that the PL enhancement is attributed to dynamic process of migration of holes where a repeated trap process of holes can be controlled by Cu-doping.International Conference and Summer School on Advanced Silicide Technology 2014, July 19–21, 2014, Tokyo, Japa
