Traditionally, making use of water resources always involves requirements to face many limitations, which usually lead to water shortage, and those problems are more obviously prominent in developing countries than in the developed countries, for example, China. As a result, the research on regional water resources shortage problems becomes necessary. This thesis is mainly focused on the case in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region to attempt to show the process about how to find the main issues, the problems, and the related and recommended solutions for water shortage, including the 1) analysis of the issues that lead to the current existing water shortage problems in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region by using a principal components analysis (PCA) model, 2)evaluation and analysis of the related problems led by those issues ,and 3) proposes the recommended solutions and the related possible responses for those issues

Mask-guided Style Transfer Network for Purifying Real Images

Recently, the progress of learning-by-synthesis has proposed a training model for synthetic images, which can effectively reduce the cost of human and material resources. However, due to the different distribution of synthetic images compared with real images, the desired performance cannot be achieved. To solve this problem, the previous method learned a model to improve the realism of the synthetic images. Different from the previous methods, this paper try to purify real image by extracting discriminative and robust features to convert outdoor real images to indoor synthetic images. In this paper, we first introduce the segmentation masks to construct RGB-mask pairs as inputs, then we design a mask-guided style transfer network to learn style features separately from the attention and bkgd(background) regions and learn content features from full and attention region. Moreover, we propose a novel region-level task-guided loss to restrain the features learnt from style and content. Experiments were performed using mixed studies (qualitative and quantitative) methods to demonstrate the possibility of purifying real images in complex directions. We evaluate the proposed method on various public datasets, including LPW, COCO and MPIIGaze. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective and achieves the state-of-the-art results.Comment: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1903.0582

Inferring Social Status and Rich Club Effects in Enterprise Communication Networks

Social status, defined as the relative rank or position that an individual holds in a social hierarchy, is known to be among the most important motivating forces in social behaviors. In this paper, we consider the notion of status from the perspective of a position or title held by a person in an enterprise. We study the intersection of social status and social networks in an enterprise. We study whether enterprise communication logs can help reveal how social interactions and individual status manifest themselves in social networks. To that end, we use two enterprise datasets with three communication channels --- voice call, short message, and email --- to demonstrate the social-behavioral differences among individuals with different status. We have several interesting findings and based on these findings we also develop a model to predict social status. On the individual level, high-status individuals are more likely to be spanned as structural holes by linking to people in parts of the enterprise networks that are otherwise not well connected to one another. On the community level, the principle of homophily, social balance and clique theory generally indicate a "rich club" maintained by high-status individuals, in the sense that this community is much more connected, balanced and dense. Our model can predict social status of individuals with 93% accuracy.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figure

Real-Time Gate Reassignment Based on Flight Delay Feature in Hub Airport

    Get PDF
Appropriate gate reassignment is crucially important in efficiency improvement on airport sources and service quality of travelers. The paper divides delay flight into certain delay time flight and uncertain delay time flight based on flight delay feature. The main objective functions of model are to minimize the disturbance led by gate reassignment in the case of certain delay time flight and uncertain delay time flight, respectively. Another objective function of model is to build penalty function when the gate reassignment of certain delay time flight influences uncertain delay time flight. Ant colony algorithm (ACO) is presented to simulate and verify the effectiveness of the model. The comparison between simulation result and artificial assignment shows that the result coming from ACO is obvious prior to the result coming from artificial assignment. The maximum disturbance of gate assignment is decreased by 13.64%, and the operation time of ACO is 118 s. The results show that the strategy of gate reassignment is feasible and effective

Generalized Expectation Maximization Framework for Blind Image Super Resolution

Learning-based methods for blind single image super resolution (SISR) conduct the restoration by a learned mapping between high-resolution (HR) images and their low-resolution (LR) counterparts degraded with arbitrary blur kernels. However, these methods mostly require an independent step to estimate the blur kernel, leading to error accumulation between steps. We propose an end-to-end learning framework for the blind SISR problem, which enables image restoration within a unified Bayesian framework with either full- or semi-supervision. The proposed method, namely SREMN, integrates learning techniques into the generalized expectation-maximization (GEM) algorithm and infers HR images from the maximum likelihood estimation (MLE). Extensive experiments show the superiority of the proposed method with comparison to existing work and novelty in semi-supervised learning
