    Urban Area Development in Stochastic Cellular Automata

    Urban is still an interesting topic to discuss whether in government or public studies. As economy grows in cities, many people are attracted to come to cities from villages to try their luck. In this paper, we investigated urban area development using von Thunen’s economic location theory. By using stochastic Cellular Automata which views land location as agents that will change their states in agriculture, industry, and service series, here we show how the urban areas dominated by economy, industry, and service activities develop to their surroundings and form areas with typical activities with urban area.     Batik Fractal: Marriage of Art and Science

    By applying Fourier Transformation, this paper shows that batik has fractal characteristic. This character is shown in batik's fractal dimension between 1 and 2. The isen process in batik is one factor that contributes to create self affine as one of fractal's important characteristic. Anova Test for fractal dimension in this method classifies batik according to patterns and its region. Fractal in batik shows the presence of complexity in traditional art. This complexity arises because the effort to obey pakem rule and media. Furthermore, the presence of fractal in batik becomes the foundation of this paper to create algorithm which will produce new kind of patterns: Batik Fractal. The method used for creating the pattern is L-System and Fractal Dimension. L-System is used to create pattern, while Fractal Dimension is used as a measurement tool for Batik Fractal to compare with traditional batik. Algorithm to create Batik Fractal has been developed into a software known as jBatik. As a software, jBatik becomes a helping tool for batik makers to create new patterns. jBatik v 2.0 has been used as a tool to create new batik patterns in creative industry by involving several batik makers

    People suffered the hike oil price much more than what stated by the government. The adaptability of the oil price decreased since the in-efficient distribution line and the slow of the economical growth. By assuming the production line as iterative process in Liapunov’s exponential model we can see the level of price difference among the people. The changing of oil price in international market is assumed by the geometric Brownian motion (GBM). By comparing the price-adaptability of the people including the subsidy factor, we can show when for the first time the international price beyond the priceadaptability of the people. In the end it shows how to decrease, not-change or even increase the oil subsidy by Markov chain model approach.oil price, threshold, subsidy, liapunov exponent, GBM, Markov chain.

    Paper ini menggunakan analisa R/S untuk mendapatkan eksponen Hurst beserta dimensi fraktal dari data return saham Telkom, Indosat, dan HMSP. Selanjutnya eksponen Hurst digunakan untuk melihat apakah data return saham tersebut bersifat multifraktal, atau memiliki gerak Brown, atau gerak Brown sebagian.
