Dosimetry of High-Energy Heavy-Ion Beams Using Energy-Dependent Green\u27s Functions

A theoretical description of the transport of high-charge and high-energy (HZE) ion bombardment of biological tissue is developed. The energy-dependent Green’s functions and particle fluxes are obtained for two boundary distributions - the monoenergetic and the Gaussian. Approximate energy-dependent Green’s functions for the collision terms are obtained for computational simplicity. As an application of the energy-dependent Green’s function method, dosimetric quantities, such as dose, dose-equivalent, and average quality factor, for 600A MeV56Fe , 517A MeV 40Ar, and 625A MeV 20Ne ion beams incident on a water target are obtained and compared with the values obtained from the energy-independent Green’s function method and existing experimental values

Black American intergenerational perspectives on education, Black identity and Whiteness: A socio-cultural and historical analysis

The aims of this study are to explore the socio-cultural contexts and experiences of Black Americans and their perspectives on the quality and value of education in their lives and to better understand how the socio-historical idea that Blacks are inferior has influenced the perception and disenfranchisement of Black youth in the U.S. educational system. This dissertation presents a qualitative study, incorporating historical documents and oral history interviews to collect first person accounts of the educational experiences of 53 Black people reflecting 4 different generations. The study found differences in the salience of race/racism in schools for individuals based on geographical location. In addition the study found a difference in the intergenerational value of education based on family heritage in the North vs. the South. Lastly the study shows the enduring legacy of eugenics through the continued experiences of the participants with racism. Implications for research and practice are discussed

Analysis Of Factors That Influence On Reporting Of Dana Desa Programs

Tujuan penelitain ini adalah melihat faktor-faktor yang dapat mendukung dan faktor penghambat dalam pelaporan keuangan dana desa, apabila terdapat hambatan dalam pelaporan keuangan dana desa, maka peneliti akan memberikan solusinya. Metodolgi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metodologi kualitatif, dengan melakukan wawancara, dan didukung dengan data primer dan skunder. Hasil dari pnelitian ini adalah pelaporan keuangan dana desa di Kenagarian Mungka dapat dilaksanakan tepat waktu, adapun faktor pendukung dalam pelaporannya adalah adanya kerjasama yang bagus anatar aparat desa, namun terdapat beberapa yang menjadi faktor penghambat yaitu, keterbatasan sumberdaya manusia yang ada, sistem yang sering berubah-ubah, terjadi keterlambatan informasi yang diterima oleh perangakat desa
