    The Effectiveness of Guided Discovery Learning to Teach Integral Calculus for the Mathematics Students of Mathematics Education Widya Dharma University

    The objectives of this research are (1) to develop Guided Discovery Learning in integral calculus subject; (2) to identify the effectiveness of Guided Discovery Learning in improving the students' understanding toward integral calculus subject. This research was quasy experimental research with the students of even semester in Mathematics Education Widya Dharma University as the sample. Cluster Random sampling was conducted to determine control group that was taught using Conventional model and experimental group that was taught using Guided Discovery Learning model. The instruments of this research included pre-test, post-test, and student's response questionnaire. The data of post-test was analyzed using T-test. The result was H0 was rejected for the level of significance The result of this data analysis found out that Guide Discovery Learning was more effective than Conventional Model. It was supported by the result questionnaire. The result of questionnaire that more than 75% questionnaire items got 67.65% positive response. It means Guided Discovery Learning can increase students' interest in joining integral calculus class

    This study aimed to examine the effect of revenue and capital expenditure on economic growth, studies on district / city on the island of Sumatra. The independent variables were the PAD and Capital Expenditures. While the dependent variable is economic growth. The data used is secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency www.djpk.depkeu.go.id and district / city on the island of Sumatra from 130 population and that meet the criteria of 30 samples.     SMP Negeri 2 Palang, Tuban memiliki ekstrakurikuler tata busana. Pada ekstrakurikuler ini terdapat standart kompetensi membuat lenan rumah tangga dengan kompetensi dasar teknik menghias kain dengan sulam. Pada kompetensi ini siswa dituntut mampu menghasilkan produk berupa tempat pensil dengan tuntas. Oleh karena itu model pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah model pembelajaran langsung. Model pembelajaran langsung merupakan model pembelajaran yang menggunakan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, hasil belajar siswa, dan respon siswa dalam pelajaran ekstrakurikuler tata busana dengan menerapkan pembelajaran langsung pada kompetensi membuat tempat pensil dengan hiasan sulam dasar siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Palang, Tuban.Penelitian ini termasuk p enelitian deskritif dengan metode pengumpulan data observasi, metode tes, dan kuesioner/ angket. Waktu penelitian pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2014-2015. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Palang dengan jumlah siswa 20 anak. Rancangan penelitian mengunakan desain penelitian dan eksperimen yang tidak murni (Pre experimental design), yaitu one shot case study. Analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskritif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru memperoleh kriteria penilaian sangat baik. Aktivitas siswa memperoleh kriteria penilaian sangat baik. Hasil belajar siswa memperoleh kriteria penilaian sangat baik dengan ketuntasan secara klasikal sebanyak 85% dari 20 siswa dan rata-rata nilai hasil belajar 83,63 dan 15% siswa yang tidak tuntas. Respon siswa memperoleh kriteria penilaian sangat baik dengan jawaban Ya 95% merespon sangat baik dan Tidak 5%. Kata kunci: Pembelajaran langsung, tempat pensil, Sulam dasa

    The Word Formation Processes of Traveling Terms in “Black Meetings & Tourism” Magazine

    People use language in their daily life to communicate to each others. In communicating, there are two forms of how language can be produced, namely oral and written forms. We can easily know the oral form of language through conversation in daily life. Meanwhile, the written form can be found in either formal or informal one, for example in the magazine, newspaper, novel, etc. Magazine is one way to get information. Like tourism magazine, people get information about place, hotel and many others things about traveling. Most of them offer news in English.The use of English in tourism magazine normally is not easily understood because there are some specific words that the readers do not know before. In this study, the writer is interested in analyzing word formation processes of traveling terms. It is because word formation processes is a way of forming new words or terms from the use of old words (Yule, 1985).This study is aimed to investigate the kind word formation processes of traveling terms and find out the meaning of the words formation processes of traveling terms in “Black Meetings & Tourism” magazine Nov/Dec 2012 edition. The writer uses Yule's theory (1985)and O'Grady's theory (1996) to analyze the data. The result of the study is expected to give significance to the next researchers who are interested in studying morphology especially about word formation processes. They are expected to conduct similar studies by using other media such as movie, newspaper and other magazine or maybe by using any other terms such as fashion, sports, etc

    Kemampuan Multirepresentasi Siswa SMP dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Pesawat Sederhana

    : This research aimed to describe students' multirepresentation ability in solving simple machine problems in SMP Negeri 12 Pontianak. This research used survey method and involved 60 students of eight grade SMP Negeri 12. The research instrument formed in essay which consisted of 6 items and interview which involved 9 students. Result of the research was analyzed to describe kind of representation presented by the students, describe the students' ability in representing simple machine concept. Result of the data analysis showed that representation presented by the students was verbal representation with average percentage of the students was 85.8%, visual representation with average percentage of the students was 64.7%, and mathematic representation with 80.8%. Based on the three representations, many students made mathematic representation and it was high. The students' difficulty in verbal representation is unable to interpret the problems. The difficulty in visual representation is unable to make a picture based on the problems. Whereas, the difficulty in mathematic representation is unable to decide which formula can be used

    The Study determine the moderation of corporate governance on the relationship between earning management and corporate social responsibility disclosure of the companies listed on Indonesia stock exchange as participants of corporate governance perception index in 2010-2014. Population of this study consist of 35 companies listed on Indonesia stock exchange as participants of corporate governance perception index in 2010-2014. Sampling technique used is purposive sampling, by wich this study selected 6 companies as samples. Technique analysis is data panel regressions with Moderate Regression Analysis (MRA) method; hypothesis testing is using t-statistics to determine the partial regression coefficient with significant level of 5%. The study has resulted two empirical finding. Fisrt, earning management has positive but insignificant influence on corporate social responsibility disclosure. Second, variabel of corporate governance that proxied with corporate governance perception index score is unable to moderate the relationship between earning management and corporate social responsibility disclosure

    Penggunaan Media Benda Konkret untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menulis Puisi Siswa Sekolah Dasar

    Berdasarkan data observasi terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis puisi di kelas V SDN Sidotopo IV/51 Kecamatan Semampir Surabaya menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas V belum mampu menulis kata-kata. Terdapat 55% siswa yang tidak mencapai KKM yang telah ditentukan yaitu 70. Dari data di atas disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan siswa dalam menulis puisi masih rendah. Dalam pembelajaran menulis, guru masih menggunakan cara-cara mengajar yang konvensional, yaitu guru menjelaskan kemudian meminta siswa untuk mengerjakan tugas, tidak ada demonstrasi dalam membuat puisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus. Setiap siklus dilaksanakan selama 2 pertemuan. Kedua siklus tersebut terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, tes dan catatan lapangan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor ketercapaian aktivitas guru mengalami peningkatan pada siklus I adalah 71,1 dan pada siklus II mencapai 89,4. Sementara itu, ketuntasan belajar menulis puisi dengan menggunakan media benda konkret dalam model pembelajaran langsung mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus I mencapai persentase ketuntasan klasikal siswa mencapai 75% sedangkan pada siklus II persentase ketuntasan klasikal siswa mencapai 85%. Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi adalah cara menguasai kelas, cara mengatasinya dengan membuat kontrak belajar. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media benda konkret dalam model pembelajaran langsung dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis puisi siswa kelas V SDN Sidotopo IV/51.
