Resummation of High Order Corrections in Boson Plus Jet Production at the LHC
We study the multiple soft gluon radiation effects in boson plus jet
production at the LHC. By applying the transverse momentum dependent
factorization formalism, the large logarithms introduced by the small total
transverse momentum of the boson plus jet final state system, are resummed
to all orders in the expansion of the strong interaction coupling at the
accuracy of Next-to-Leading Logarithm(NLL). We also compare the prediction of
our resummation calculation to the CMS data by employing a reweighting
procedure to estimate the effect from imposing kinematic cuts on the leptons
from boson decay, and find good agreement for both the imbalance transverse
momentum and the azimuthal angle correlation of the final state boson and
jet system, for production at the LHC.Comment: 7 pages, published versio
Soft Gluon Resummation in -channel single top quark production at the LHC
We present a detailed phenomenological study of the multiple soft gluon
radiation for the -channel single top and anti-top quark production at the
Large Hadron Collider (LHC). By applying the transverse momentum dependent
factorization formalism, large logarithms introduced by small total transverse
momentum of the single-top (anti-top) plus one-jet final state system
are resummed to all orders in the expansion of the strong interaction coupling
at the accuracy of Next-to-Leading Logarithm. We discuss various kinematical
distributions which are sensitive to this effect and find that soft gluon
radiation become more important when the final state jet is required to be in
the forward region. We show that the main difference from PYTHIA prediction
lies on the inclusion of the exact color coherence effect between the initial
and final states in our resummation calculation. We further propose to apply
the experimental observable to test the effect of multiple gluon
radiation in the single-top and anti-top events. The bottom quark mass effect
and jet rapidity distribution are also discussed.Comment: 22 pages. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with

The anomalous couplings at the HERA and EIC
To resolve the long-standing discrepancy between the precision measurement of
bottom quark forward-backward asymmetry at LEP/SLC and the Standard Model
prediction, we propose a novel method to probe the coupling by
measuring the single-spin asymmetry of the polarized lepton cross
section in neutral current DIS processes with a -tagged jet at HERA and EIC.
Depending on the tagging efficiency of the final state -jet, the measurement
of at HERA can already partially break the degeneracy found in the
anomalous coupling, as implied by the LEP and SLC precision
electroweak data. In the first year run of the EIC, the measurement of
can already break the degeneracy, due to its much larger luminosity and higher
electron beam polarization. With enough integrated luminosity collected at the
EIC, it is possible to either verify or exclude the LEP data and resolve the
puzzle. We also discuss the complementary roles between the
proposed measurement at EIC and the measurement of cross
section at the HL-LHC in constraining the anomalous coupling.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, the published version in PL
Fantastic Behavior of High-TC Superconductor Junctions: Tunable Superconductivity
Carrier injection performed in oxygen-deficient YBa2Cu3O7(YBCO)
hetero-structure junctions exhibited tunable resistance that was entirely
different with behaviors of semiconductor devices. Tunable superconductivity in
YBCO junctions, increasing over 20 K in transition temperature, has achieved by
using electric processes. To our knowledge, this is the first observation that
intrinsic property of high TC superconductors superconductivity can be adjusted
as tunable functional parameters of devices. The fantastic phenomenon caused by
carrier injection was discussed based on a proposed charge carrier
self-trapping model and BCS theory.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
Transverse Momentum Resummation for -channel single top quark production at the LHC
We study the effect of multiple soft gluon radiation on the kinematical
distributions of the -channel single top quark production at the LHC. By
applying the transverse momentum dependent factorization formalism, large
logarithms (of the ratio of large invariant mass and small total transverse
momentum of the single-top plus one-jet final state system) are
resummed to all orders in the expansion of the strong interaction coupling at
the accuracy of next-to-leading logarithm, including the complete
next-to-leading order corrections. We show that the main difference from PYTHIA
prediction lies on the inclusion of the exact color coherence effect between
the initial and final states in our resummation calculation, which becomes more
important when the final state jet is required to be in the forward region. We
further propose a new experimental observable to test the effect of
multiple gluon radiation in the single-top events. The effect of bottom quark
mass is also discussed.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures, published versio
