THE MECHANICAL ANALYSIS OF HDPE NET CAGE BY TEST AND CALCULATION

To reduce the structural failure risk of net cages under extreme sea conditions, this study analysed the yield phenomenon under mooring constraints and excessive or long-term wave loads. The floating collar deforms by shear when a twisted 1 m for the 8-point type and 5 m for the four point type. The structural strength in the Z-vertical direction is one-fifth of that in the X-horizontal direction. The maximum deformation is mainly on the two ends of the cap ned pipes. The critical points of the guardrail may reach the yield stress when the wave height is 1.1 m, while the height of the floating pipe is 5 m. The float can be damaged more easily when there is torsion or shear deformation caused by irregular waves. The results provide guidelines for the optimised structural design of net cages, which by increasing the number of mooring points and cap neds as well as reducing the welding points and structural mutation points, can improve the ultimate bearing capacity and fatigue reliability of the cage float

MST4 Phosphorylation of ATG4B Regulates Autophagic Activity, Tumorigenicity, and Radioresistance in Glioblastoma

ATG4B stimulates autophagy by promoting autophagosome formation through reversible modification of ATG8. We identify ATG4B as a substrate of mammalian sterile20-like kinase (STK) 26/MST4. MST4 phosphorylates ATG4B at serine residue 383, which stimulates ATG4B activity and increases autophagic flux. Inhibition of MST4 or ATG4B activities using genetic approaches or an inhibitor of ATG4B suppresses autophagy and the tumorigenicity of glioblastoma (GBM) cells. Furthermore, radiation induces MST4 expression, ATG4B phosphorylation, and autophagy. Inhibiting ATG4B in combination with radiotherapy in treating mice with intracranial GBM xenograft markedly slows tumor growth and provides a significant survival benefit. Our work describes an MST4-ATG4B signaling axis that influences GBM autophagy and malignancy, and whose therapeutic targeting enhances the anti-tumor effects of radiotherapy., • MST4 kinase regulates the growth, sphere formation, and tumorigenicity of GBM cells • MST4 stimulates autophagy by activating ATG4B through phosphorylation of ATG4B S383 • Radiation increases MST4 expression and ATG4B phosphorylation, inducing autophagy • Inhibiting ATG4B enhances the anti-tumor effects of radiotherapy in GBM PDX models , Huang et al. show that radiation induces MST4 expression and that MST4 phosphorylates ATG4B at serine 383, which increases ATG4B activity and autophagic flux. Inhibition of ATG4B reduces autophagy and tumorigenicity of glioblastoma (GBM) cells and improves the impact of radiotherapy on GBM growth in mice

Power Transfer Control Strategy Based on True Bipolar MMC-MTDC System

The true bipolar modular multilevel converter-based multi-terminal direct current (MMC-MTDC) DC transmission line is prone to single-pole grounding fault, which may cause overload and overcurrent of the non-fault DC line with fault poles, resulting in system protection misoperation and system collapse. Therefore, the power transfer control strategy should be adopted to improve system stability. In addition, considering that the commutator stations of true bipolar MMC-MTDC system may have unipolar faults, it is necessary to adopt the control strategy of inter-pole power transfer or inter-station power transfer to improve the transmission capacity of the system under fault conditions. In this paper, a power transfer control strategy is proposed, which is widely applicable to MMC-MTDC system. In the case of line fault, the power transfer takes into account the line power margin and the power margin of converter station. The inter-pole power transfer is better than the inter-station power transfer under the converter station fault condition, and the inter-station power transfer takes into account the priority of the power margin of the converter station. At the same time, based on the Zhangbei four-terminal flexible direct current transmission project, the Zhangbei four-terminal flexible direct current transmission system is built by using PSCAD/EMTDC, and the flexibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy are verified by simulation

SrTiO3 and Ce4+ doped SrTiO3 were synthesized by a modified sol–gel process. The optimization synthesis parameters were obtained by a series of single factor experiments. Interesting phenomena are observable in Ce4+ doped SrTiO3 systems. Sr2+ in SrTiO3 system was replaced by Ce4+, which reduced the surface segregation of Ti4+, ameliorated agglomeration, increased specific surface area more than four times compared with pure SrTiO3, and enhanced quantum efficiency for SrTiO3. Results showed that Ce4+ doping increased the physical adsorption of H2O and adsorbed oxygen on the surface of SrTiO3, which produced additional catalytic active centers. Electrons on the 4f energy level for Ce4+ produced new energy states in the band gap of SrTiO3, which not only realized the use of visible light but also led to an easier separation between the photogenerated electrons and holes. Ce4+ repeatedly captured photoelectrons to produce Ce3+, which inhibited the recombination between photogenerated electrons and holes as well as prolonged their lifetime; it also enhanced quantum efficiency for SrTiO3. The methylene blue (MB) degradation efficiency reached 98.7% using 3 mol % Ce4+ doped SrTiO3 as a photocatalyst, indicating highly photocatalytic activity

Document clustering in correlation similarity measure space

This paper presents a new spectral clustering method called correlation preserving indexing (CPI), which is performed in the correlation similarity measure space. In this framework, the documents are projected into a low-dimensional semantic space in which the correlations between the documents in the local patches are maximized while the correlations between the documents outside these patches are minimized simultaneously. Since the intrinsic geometrical structure of the document space is often embedded in the similarities between the documents, correlation as a similarity measure is more suitable for detecting the intrinsic geometrical structure of the document space than euclidean distance. Consequently, the proposed CPI method can effectively discover the intrinsic structures embedded in high-dimensional document space. The effectiveness of the new method is demonstrated by extensive experiments conducted on various data sets and by comparison with existing document clustering methods.<br /
