Dependences of helium retention in tungsten and tantalum coatings irradiated with HeβΊ ions on fluence and temperature
The processes of helium accumulation and thermal desorption for tungsten and tantalum coatings deposited on a stainless-steel substrate with an intermediate titanium layer were studied at various temperatures of the samples when irradiated with HeβΊ ions to various fluences. The dependences of the concentration of captured helium and the form of the spectra of its thermal desorption into vacuum were found both on the fluence of HeβΊ ions and on the temperature of the samples upon irradiation. Implantation of deuterium and helium ions into composite structure with tantalum coating
Processes of retention and thermal release of implanted deuterium and helium from tantalum coatings of multilayer composite structure by thermodesorption spectrometry were investigated. The dependences of amount of accumulated deuterium and helium, and the shape of thermal desorption spectra as functions of the DβΊ
and HeβΊ
ions
fluencies and of the temperature of irradiation were shown. Investigation of the Processes of Retention and Release of Implanted Deuterium and Helium Ions for Tungsten and Tantalum Coatings
The analysis of main published results of studies of retention and migration of ion-implanted hydrogen isotopes and helium in tungsten and tantalum coatings, formation of radiation damages of the crystal lattice and their interaction with implanted gases, as well as the influence of helium and deuterium on various properties and surface morphology of coatings was carried out. The irradiation of samples was performed by beams of accelerated ions of hydrogen isotopes or He+, and in a plasma containing these ions, at various fluences and energies of incident ions, and at various temperatures of targets during implantation. Special attention was paid to the research results obtained at simultaneous irradiation of W both in bulk and in thin-film form. The used methods were electron microscopy, reemission mass spectrometry, thermal desorption spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, nuclear reaction analysis and Rutherford ion scattering
