    Bjorken Sum Rule and pQCD frontier on the move

    The reasonableness of the use of perturbative QCD notions in the region close to the scale of hadronization, i.e., below \lesssim 1 \GeV is under study. First, the interplay between higher orders of pQCD expansion and higher twist contributions in the analysis of recent Jefferson Lab (JLab) data on the Generalized Bjorken Sum Rule function Γ1pn(Q2)\Gamma_1^{p-n} (Q^2) at 0.1<Q2<3GeV20.1<Q^2< 3 {\rm GeV}^2 is studied. It is shown that the inclusion of the higher-order pQCD corrections could be absorbed, with good numerical accuracy, by change of the normalization of the higher-twist terms. Second, to avoid the issue of unphysical singularity (Landau pole at Q=\Lambda\sim 400 \MeV ), we deal with the ghost-free Analytic Perturbation Theory (APT) that recently proved to be an intriguing candidate for a quantitative description of light quarkonia spectra within the Bethe-Salpeter approach. The values of the twist coefficients μ2k\mu_{2k} extracted from the mentioned data by using the APT approach provide a better convergence of the higher-twist series than with the common pQCD. As the main result, a good quantitative description of the JLab data down to QQ\simeq 350 MeV is achieved.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures, minor change

    A method development for improving the stability of vegetable polyphenol complexes for semi-finished minced meat products with antioxidant effect

    Polyphenolic vegetable complexes are active antioxidants and play an important role in the processes of free radicals quenching in the human body. The aim of the work was to develop an immobilization method as a way for improving the stability of polyphenols in dried cowberry squeezing extract (DCSE) and to develop semi-finished minced meat products with antioxidant effect without changing their nutritional value. Experiments were carried out to study the nutritional value of DCSE. The presence of a large number of polyphenolic compounds in DCSE and a high radical-binding ability of the extract were revealed. Based on the mathematical planning method, an offal paste composition was obtained, which was used to obtain pellets, and the formulation of semi-finished minced meat products with pellets was optimized. It was established that preliminary immobilization of DCSE on offal pellets components allows to increase the level of total antioxidant content in the minced meat. Subsequent heat treatment of semi-finished minced meat products produced from such minced meat showed an increase in stability and, thus, bioavailability of antioxidants and the possibility of obtaining a finished product with antioxidant effect. The antioxidant effect of cowberry squeezing extract in the meat system is proved: accumulation of lipid oxidative decomposition products in the meat system during storage of frozen semi-finished minced meat products was inhibited to a greater extent when using offal pellets with immobilized compounds of cowberry squeezing extract.     M-Theory of Matrix Models

    Small M-theories unify various models of a given family in the same way as the M-theory unifies a variety of superstring models. We consider this idea in application to the family of eigenvalue matrix models: their M-theory unifies various branches of Hermitean matrix model (including Dijkgraaf-Vafa partition functions) with Kontsevich tau-function.     Electroproduction, photoproduction, and inverse electroproduction of pions in the first resonance region

    Methods are set forth for determining the hadron electromagnetic structure in the sub-NNˉN\bar{N}-threshold timelike region of the virtual-photon ``mass'' and for investigating the nucleon weak structure in the spacelike region from experimental data on the process πNe+eN\pi N\to e^+e^- N at low energies. These methods are formulated using the unified description of photoproduction, electroproduction, and inverse electroproduction of pions in the first resonance region in the framework of the dispersion-relation model and on the basis of the model-independent properties of inverse electroproduction.     Is there a Pronounced Giant Dipole Resonance in ^4He?

    A four-nucleon calculation of the total ^4He photodisintegration cross section is performed. The full final-state interaction is taken into account for the first time. This is achieved via the method of the Lorentz integral transform. Semi-realistic NN interactions are employed. Different from the known partial two-body ^4He(\gamma,n)^3He and ^4He(\gamma,p)^3H cross sections our total cross section exhibits a pronounced giant resonance. Thus, in contrast to older (γ,np)(\gamma,np) data, we predict quite a strong contribution of the (γ,np)(\gamma,np) channel at the giant resonance peak energy.Comment: 10 pages, Latex (REVTEX), 4 Postscript figures, to appear in Phys.     Polarization Phenomena in Small-Angle Photoproduction of e+e- Pairs and the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn Sum Rule

    Photoproduction of e+ee^+e^- pairs at small angles is investigated as a tool to determine the functions f1f_1 and f2f_2 entering the real-photon forward Compton scattering amplitude. The method is based on an interference of the Bethe-Heitler and the virtual Compton scattering mechanisms, generating an azimuthal asymmetry in the e+e^+ versus ee^- yield. The general case of a circularly polarized beam and a longitudinally polarized target allows one to determine both the real and imaginary parts of f1f_1 as well as f2f_2. The imaginary part of f2f_2 requires target polarization only. We calculate cross sections and asymmetries of the reaction p(γ,e+e)pp(\gamma,e^+e^-)p, estimate corrections and backgrounds, and propose suitable kinematical regions to perform the experiment. Our investigation shows that photoproduction of e+ee^+e^--pairs off the proton and light nuclei may serve as a rather sensitive test of the validity of the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule.Comment: 22 pages; revtex; 5 postscript figures included in submission; submitted to Phys.     Electromagnetic response functions of few-nucleon systems

    Inclusive electromagnetic reactions in few-nucleon systems are studied basing on accurate three- and four-body calculations. The longitudinal 4He(e,e') response function obtained at q\le 600 MeV/c completely agrees with experiment. The exact 4He spectral function obtained in a semirealistic potential model is presented, and the accuracy of the quasielastic response calculated with its help is assessed, as well as the accuracy of some simpler approximations for the response. The photodisintegration cross section of 3He obtained with the realistic AV14 NN force plus UrbanaVIII NNN force agrees with experiment. It is shown that this cross section is very sensitive to underlying nuclear dynamics in the E_\gamma\simeq 70-100 MeV region.
