Searches for New Physics at the Tevatron in Photon and Jet Final States
We present the results of searches for non-standard model phenomena in photon
and jet final states. These searches use data from integrated luminosities of
0.7--2.7/fb of p-pbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV, collected with the CDF
and D0 detectors at the Fermilab Tevatron. No significant excess in data has
been observed. We report limits on the parameters of several models, including:

Review of Recent Tevatron Jet, W/Z+Jet and Heavy-flavor Production Results
This document reviews several recent measurements at the Fermilab Tevatron,
including the cross sections of inclusive jet, dijet production, the cross
sections of electroweak boson (W or Z) production in association with inclusive
or heavy-flavor (b or c) jets, and b-jet shapes. In addition, searches for new
physics using the dijet angular distributions are discussed. These analyses are
based on integrated luminosities of 0.3--2.5/fb of p-pbar collisions at
\sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV, collected with the CDF and D0 detectors. The results
directly test the leading order and next-to leading order calculations of
perturbative quantum chromodynamics and provide constraints on the parton
distribution functions, gluon-splitting contribution, and physics beyond the

Search for Higgs at CDF
We present the results on the searches for the SM and the non-SM Higgs boson
production in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV with the CDF detector at the
Fermilab Tevatron. Using data corresponding to 300--700pb-1, we search for the
Higgs boson in various production and decay channels. No signal is observed,
therefore, we set upper limits on the production cross-section times branching

Search for Anomalous Production of Photon, b-jet, and Missing Transverse Energy at CDF
We report the results of two signature-based searches for new physics using
1.9- 2.0 fb-1 of data collected at the CDF experiment. Both analyses look in
events containing a photon, a b-tagged jet, and missing transverse energy. The
first search requires an additional jet. The second search requires an extra
electron or muon. No significant excess of events over the Standard Model
prediction is observed. We also describe the "CES/CPR" method which is used to

Other Beyond Standard Model Searches at the Tevatron
We present the results of searches for non-standard model phenomena, with
focus on signature-based searches and searches driven by non-supersymmetry
(non-SUSY) models. The analyses use 1.0--2.5 fb-1 of data from ppbar collisions
at sqrt(s)=1.96 TeV collected with the CDF and D0 detectors at the Fermilab
Tevatron. No significant excess in data has been observed. We report on the

Prenatal diagnosis and molecular cytogenetic characterization of de novo partial monosomy 3p (3p26.3→pter) and partial trisomy 16q (16q23.1→qter)
AbstractObjectiveTo present the prenatal diagnosis and molecular cytogenetic characterization of a de novo unbalanced reciprocal translocation.Case ReportA 37-year-old woman, G3P1, underwent amniocentesis at 17 weeks of gestation because of her advanced maternal age. Her husband was 38 years old. Amniocentesis revealed a derivative chromosome 3 with the deletion of terminal 3p and the addendum of an unknown extra chromosomal segment on the distal 3p. The parental karyotypes were normal. Prenatal ultrasound findings were unremarkable. Array comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) analysis using cultured amniocytes revealed a 2.38-Mb deletion in 3p26.3 [arr 3p26.3 (1-2,380,760)×1] encompassing 15 genes, which included 3 OMIM genes CHL1, CNTN6, and CNTN4, and a 13.17-Mb duplication in 16q23.1-q24.3 [arr 16q23.1q24.3 (76,999,082-90,170,596)×3] encompassing 207 genes, which included 81 OMIM genes. The pregnancy was subsequently terminated, and a malformed fetus was delivered with facial dysmorphism. Postnatal cord blood analysis revealed a karyotype of 46,XY,der(3)t(3;16)(p26.3;q23.1)dn. Polymorphic DNA marker analysis by quantitative fluorescent polymerase chain reaction (QF-PCR) on the DNAs extracted from the placenta and parental blood showed a paternal origin of the aberrant chromosome.ConclusionThe aCGH and QF-PCR analyses helped in delineating the genomic imbalance and parental origin of prenatally detected de novo unbalanced reciprocal translocation
Impact of Knockout of Dual-Specificity Protein Phosphatase 5 on Structural and Mechanical Properties of Rat Middle Cerebral Arteries: Implications for Vascular Aging
Vascular aging influences hemodynamics, elevating risks for vascular diseases and dementia. We recently demonstrated that knockout (KO) of Dusp5 enhances cerebral and renal hemodynamics and cognitive function. This improvement correlates with elevated pPKC and pERK1/2 levels in the brain and kidneys. Additionally, we observed that Dusp5 KO modulates the passive mechanical properties of cerebral and renal arterioles, associated with increased myogenic tone at low pressure, enhanced distensibility, greater compliance, and reduced stiffness. The present study evaluates the structural and mechanical properties of the middle cerebral artery (MCA) in Dusp5 KO rats. We found that vascular smooth muscle cell layers and the collagen content in the MCA wall are comparable between Dusp5 KO and control rats. The internal elastic lamina in the MCA of Dusp5 KO rats exhibits increased thickness, higher autofluorescence intensity, smaller fenestrae areas, and fewer fenestrations. Despite an enhanced myogenic response and tone of the MCA in Dusp5 KO rats, other passive mechanical properties, such as wall thickness, cross-sectional area, wall-to-lumen ratio, distensibility, incremental elasticity, circumferential wall stress, and elastic modulus, do not significantly differ between strains. These findings suggest that while Dusp5 KO has a limited impact on altering the structural and mechanical properties of MCA, its primary role in ameliorating hemodynamics and cognitive functions is likely attributable to its enzymatic activity on cerebral arterioles. Further research is needed to elucidate the specific enzymatic mechanisms and explore potential clinical applications in the context of vascular aging

Anomalous magnetoresistance in the spinel superconductor LiTi2O4
LiTi2O4 is a unique compound in that it is the only known spinel oxide superconductor. The
lack of high quality single crystals has thus far prevented systematic investigations of its
transport properties. Here we report a careful study of transport and tunnelling spectroscopy
in epitaxial LiTi2O4 thin films. An unusual magnetoresistance is observed which changes from
nearly isotropic negative to prominently anisotropic positive as the temperature is decreased.
We present evidence that shows that the negative magnetoresistance likely stems from
the suppression of local spin fluctuations or spin-orbit scattering centres. The positive
magnetoresistance suggests the presence of an orbital-related state, also supported by the
fact that the superconducting energy gap decreases as a quadratic function of magnetic field.
These observations indicate that the spin-orbital fluctuations play an important role in LiTi2O4
in a manner similar to high-temperature superconductors
