Research on Viral Marketing Propagating Oriented to Marketing Context

Get PDF
Viral marketing exploits social networks to market new product, where users are encouraged to recommend products to their friends. Propagating model is base of other researches on viral marketing, which describes how marketing information is propagated from seed users to other users. In this paper, it is found that currently widely used Independent Cascade (IC) model is not adapted to marketing context where a user will accept recommendation only when the recommendation come from a lot of his friends. Based on the finding, k-order propagating model oriented to marketing context is proposed. Two specific k-order propagating are studied, respectively General_KP and Binary_KP. Using Twitter, Friendster and Random dataset, there 384 experiments are made to show propagating results based on proposed models. The results shows that influence order k is has important influence on propagating process, which illustrate that k-order propagating model is important for viral marketing

Conductance and spectroscopic mapping of EDOT polymer films upon electrochemical doping

Abstract This paper deals with the electrochemical doping of different poly(ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT)-based active layers performed in an organic electrochemical transistor configuration through the mapping of in situ conductance trends during electrochemical doping and dedoping. The experiments are complemented by UV/Vis/NIR in situ spectroelectrochemistry in the wavelength range from 400 to 1600 nm, which allow monitoring of the development of the neutral and charged redox species. Both electropolymerized EDOT-based layers and solution-processed chemically synthesized PEDOT films are characterized. In addition to pure electropolymerized PEDOT (e-PEDOT), tris(4-(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)phenyl) (TPA-EDOT3) is electrodeposited to generate highly branched networks of P(TPA-EDOT3). The solution-deposited PEDOT films contain poly(ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) with ratios of 1:2.5 and 1:6. Overall, we find that e-PEDOT and PEDOT:PSS(1:2.5) behave like classical conjugated polymers with a plateau-like conductance over a wide potential region. In contrast, PEDOT:PSS(1:6) and P(TPA-EDOT3) show rather bell-shaped conductance profiles. The mixed-valence conductivity model is used to interpret the experimental results in terms of the number of accessible redox states. We suggest that the bell-shaped conductance in the case of PEDOT:PSS(1:6) is caused by a high amount of PSS insulator that limits the inter-chain interaction between PEDOT moieties and in the case of P(TPA-EDOT3) by its distorted molecular architecture

Whole-genome sequencing of Oryza brachyantha reveals mechanisms underlying Oryza genome evolution

The wild species of the genus Oryza contain a largely untapped reservoir of agronomically important genes for rice improvement. Here we report the 261-Mb de novo assembled genome sequence of Oryza brachyantha. Low activity of long-terminal repeat retrotransposons and massive internal deletions of ancient long-terminal repeat elements lead to the compact genome of Oryza brachyantha. We model 32,038 protein-coding genes in the Oryza brachyantha genome, of which only 70% are located in collinear positions in comparison with the rice genome. Analysing breakpoints of non-collinear genes suggests that double-strand break repair through non-homologous end joining has an important role in gene movement and erosion of collinearity in the Oryza genomes. Transition of euchromatin to heterochromatin in the rice genome is accompanied by segmental and tandem duplications, further expanded by transposable element insertions. The high-quality reference genome sequence of Oryza brachyantha provides an important resource for functional and evolutionary studies in the genus Oryza

Serum proteome analysis for profiling protein markers associated with carcinogenesis and lymph node metastasis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), one of the most common cancers in population with Chinese or Asian progeny, poses a serious health problem for southern China. It is unfortunate that most NPC victims have had lymph node metastasis (LNM) when first diagnosed. We believe that the 2D based serum proteome analysis can be useful in discovering new biomarkers that may aid in the diagnosis and therapy of NPC patients. To filter the tumor specific antigen markers of NPC, sera from 42 healthy volunteers, 27 non-LNM NPC patients and 37 LNM NPC patients were selected for screening study using 2D combined with MS. Pretreatment strategy, including sonication, albumin and immunoglobulin G (IgG) depletion, was adopted for screening differentially expressed proteins of low abundance in serum. By 2D image analysis and MALDI-TOF-MS identification, twenty-three protein spots were differentially expressed. Three of them were further validated in the sera using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Our research demonstrates that HSP70, sICAM-1 and SAA, confirmed with ELISA at sera and immunohistochemistry, are potential NPC metastasis-specific serum biomarkers which may be of great underlying significance in clinical detection and management of NPC

The performance of micro-displacement acquisition device directly affects the performance of micro-positioning system and its high cost. So this paper designed a micro-displacement acquisition system consisting of detection bridge, amplifier circuit, filter circuit and SMT32F103 controller. The micro-displacement signal acquisition is achieved by using the SMT32F103 controller to complete transfer of the displacement signal and PC with LabVIEW program called dynamic link library way to complete the communication controller

Progress in Coreā€“Shell Magnetic Mesoporous Materials for Enriching Post-Translationally Modified Peptides

Endogenous peptides, particularly those with post-translational modifications, are increasingly being studied as biomarkers for diagnosing various diseases. However, they are weakly ionizable, have a low abundance in biological samples, and may be interfered with by high levels of proteins, peptides, and other macromolecular impurities, resulting in a high limit of detection and insufficient amounts of post-translationally modified peptides in real biological samples to be examined. Therefore, separation and enrichment are necessary before analyzing these biomarkers using mass spectrometry. Mesoporous materials have regular adjustable pores that can eliminate large proteins and impurities, and their large specific surface area can bind more target peptides, but this may result in the partial loss or destruction of target peptides during centrifugal separation. On the other hand, magnetic mesoporous materials can be used to separate the target using an external magnetic field, which improves the separation efficiency and yield. Coreā€“shell magnetic mesoporous materials are widely utilized for peptide separation and enrichment due to their biocompatibility, efficient enrichment capability, and excellent recoverability. This paper provides a review of the latest progress in coreā€“shell magnetic mesoporous materials for enriching glycopeptides and phosphopeptides and compares their enrichment performance with different types of functionalization methods
