Entropy in the Kerr-Newman Black Hole
Entropy of the Kerr-Newman black hole is calculated via the brick wall method
with maintaining careful attention to the contribution of superradiant scalar
modes. It turns out that the nonsuperradinat and superradiant modes
simultaneously contribute to the entropy with the same order in terms of the
brick wall cutoff . In particular, the contribution of the
superradiant modes to the entropy is negative. To avoid divergency in this
method when the angular velocity tends to zero, we propose to intr oduce a
lower bound of angular velocity and to treat the case of the angular momentum
per unit mass separately. Moreover, from the lower bound of the angular
velocity, we obtain the -dependence structure of the brick wall cutoff,
which natu rally requires an angular cutoff . Finally, if the cutoff
values, and , satisfy a proper relation between them, the

Simultaneous determination of methylcarbamate and ethylcarbamate in fermented foods and beverages by derivatization and GC-MS analysis
BACKGROUND: Methylcarbamate (MC) and ethylcarbamate (EC) are toxic compounds that commonly exist in fermented food and beverages. In order to estimate the risk for their exposure, a sensitive simultaneous analytical method is required RESULTS: A simultaneous determination of MC and EC was described based on derivatization with 9-xanthydrol and consecutive detection using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. The derivatization of MC and EC was performed directly in food or beverages and the reaction conditions were established through changing various parameters. The detection and the quantification limits were 0.01-0.03 μg/kg and 0.03-0.1 μg/kg, respectively, and the interday relative standard deviation was less than 12% at concentrations of 2.0 and 50 μg/kg. MC and EC were measured from 0.4 μg/kg to 85.8 μg/kg in sixteen Korean fermented foods and eleven beverages. CONCLUSION: A simple, sensitive method to detect MC and EC in several solid foods and liquid foods was developed based on derivatization with 9-xanthydrol for 10 min at an ambient temperature. PlanFitting: Tailoring Personalized Exercise Plans with Large Language Models
A personally tailored exercise regimen is crucial to ensuring sufficient
physical activities, yet challenging to create as people have complex schedules
and considerations and the creation of plans often requires iterations with
experts. We present PlanFitting, a conversational AI that assists in
personalized exercise planning. Leveraging generative capabilities of large
language models, PlanFitting enables users to describe various constraints and
queries in natural language, thereby facilitating the creation and refinement
of their weekly exercise plan to suit their specific circumstances while
staying grounded in foundational principles. Through a user study where
participants (N=18) generated a personalized exercise plan using PlanFitting
and expert planners (N=3) evaluated these plans, we identified the potential of
PlanFitting in generating personalized, actionable, and evidence-based exercise
plans. We discuss future design opportunities for AI assistants in creating
plans that better comply with exercise principles and accommodate personal

Electrical Investigation of the Oblique Hanle Effect in Ferromagnet/Oxide/Semiconductor Contacts
We have investigated the electrical Hanle effect with magnetic fields applied
at an oblique angle ({\theta}) to the spin direction (the oblique Hanle effect,
OHE) in CoFe/MgO/semiconductor (SC) contacts by employing a three-terminal
measurement scheme. The electrical oblique Hanle signals obtained in
CoFe/MgO/Si and CoFe/MgO/Ge contacts show clearly different line shapes
depending on the spin lifetime of the host SC. Notably, at moderate magnetic
fields, the asymptotic values of the oblique Hanle signals (in both contacts)
are consistently reduced by a factor of cos^2({\theta}) irrespective of the
bias current and temperature. These results are in good agreement with
predictions of the spin precession and relaxation model for the electrical
oblique Hanle effect. At high magnetic fields where the magnetization of CoFe
is significantly tilted from the film plane to the magnetic field direction, we
find that the observed angular dependence of voltage signals in the CoFe/MgO/Si
and CoFe/MgO/Ge contacts are well explained by the OHE, considering the
misalignment angle between the external magnetic field and the magnetization of

Different Modulation of the Cortical Silent Period by Two Phases of Short Interval Intracortical Inhibition
PURPOSE:
To investigate the influence of 2 phases of short interval intracortical inhibition (SICI) on the cortical silent period (SP).
MATERIALS AND METHODS:
Single- and paired-pulse transcranial magnetic stimulations (TMSs) at 1 and 2.5ms interstimulus intervals (ISIs) were applied to the left motor cortex in 12 healthy subjects while their right hand muscles were moderately activated. Conditioning stimulation intensity was 90% of the active motor threshold (AMT). Test stimulation intensities were 120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 220, 240, 260% of the AMT and at 100% of the maximal stimulator output, the order of which was arranged randomly. The rectified electromyography area of motor evoked potential (MEP) and duration of the SP were measured off-line using a computerized program.
RESULTS:
At high-test stimulation intensities, MEP areas were saturated in both single- and paired-pulse stimulations, except that saturated MEPs were smaller for the paired-pulse TMS at 1ms ISI than for the other conditions. As the test stimulation intensity increased, SP was progressively prolonged in both single- and paired-pulse stimulations but was shorter in paired-pulse than single-pulse TMS. Overall, the ratio of SP duration/MEP area was comparable between single- and paired-pulse TMS except for the paired-pulse TMS at 1 ms ISI with a test stimulation intensity at 140-180% of the AMT, in which the ratio was significantly higher than in the single pulse TMS.
CONCLUSION:
These results suggest that 2 phases of SICI modulate MEP saturation and SP duration differently and provide additional evidence supporting the view that 2 phases of SICI are mediated by different inhibitory mechanisms.ope
