Quark and gluon contributions to the QCD trace anomaly

We show that, in dimensional reguralization in the minimal subtraction scheme, the QCD trace anomaly can be unambiguously decomposed into two parts coming from the renormalized quark and gluon energy momentum tensors. We carry out this decomposition at the two-loop level. The result can be used to constrain the renormalization group properties of the nucleon's twist-four gravitational form factor Cˉq,g\bar{C}_{q,g}.Comment: 13 page

“Mystery” of the House of Councilors and Political Turmoil: Constitutional Issues Posed by the Reiwa Rotation

    Get PDF
What is the House of Councilors in Japan? Most Japanese people would promptly reply that it is the “chamber of wisdom”. However, what does this “chamber of wisdom” mean? Few are able to answer this question. In fact, the Reiwa Shinsengumi party’s announcement of their Reiwa rotation system sparked a chaotic wave of legal and political commentaries, both in favor and opposed. These discussions on the Reiwa rotation symbolically implied that there were not the essential considerations of the House of Councilors in Japan. This article provides an opportunity to consider the essential issues of the House of Councilors and the bicameral system in Japan in the context of the Reiwa rotation. It consists of three sections. The first section explains the constitutional issues inherent in the Reiwa rotation. The second section explores the background of the constitutional issues presented by this Reiwa rotation system. In a sense, this issue is obliging us to resolve constitutional problems that we seem to have unconsciously neglected and left unaddressed. Finally, the third section offers a response to the inquiry of how the House of Councilors should be constitutionally positioned. Now is the time to delve into the mystery of the House of Councilors through these discussionsdepartmental bulletin pape

GIS-based Forecast of Landscape Changes with the Ito Land Readjustment Project

    Get PDF
The purpose of the present research is to attempt consolidation of geographic information into the GIS regarding the Ito Land Readjustment Project presently being implemented in northern Kyushu in Japan, and forecast the landscape changes before/after comparison of the project. First, the topographic map, 50-meter mesh digital map (elevation), aerial photograph, land use map, project plan, land use zone plan, district plan, substitute lot plan and other geographic information of the project district were collected from various sources and systematized. Thereafter the data were aggregated using ArcGIS. Next, building and structure data before and after the project were prepared and height data of these buildings and structures were combined with the land elevation data. Then, the major view point fields in the district were selected, to examine the extent of the change of the visibility areas from these view point fields before and after the project. Moreover, focusing on the mountains in the visibility areas, we forecasted how much the visibility area of the mountains would decrease at each view point field after construction of the buildings and structures in the project implementation. Finally, we showed 3-D images of the project district using ArcScene, and investigated the extent of visibility of the mountain range sky line from each view point field as before/after comparison of the project.

Photoinduced reactions of chloroacetone in solid Ar: Identification of CH2=COCICH3

    Get PDF
The UV light-induced reactions of chloroacetone in a cryogenic Ar matrix were investigated using infrared spectroscopy. The photoinduced isomerisations of gauche-chloroacetone to syn-chloroacetone and hypochlorous acid 1-methylethenyl ester were confirmed by comparing the experimental and calculated spectra. In addition, the photolysis products were found to be CH2double bond; length as m-dashCdouble bond; length as m-dashO and a cyclopropanone⋯HCl complex. The cyclopropanone⋯HCl complex was further decomposed into CH2double bond; length as m-dashCH2, CO and HCl. The hypochlorous acid 1-methylethenyl ester was further isomerized to 2-chloro-2-methyloxirane.ArticleCHEMICAL PHYSICS LETTERS. 614:258-262 (2014)journal articl

    Attention-Grabbing ESG

    Get PDF
This study examines whether the market can recognize the financial materiality of socially impactful corporate disclosures. Using data to demonstrate reactions on social networking sites (SNS) to ESG news in the United States from 2010, our findings reveal a positive correlation between unconditional excess stock returns and the polarity of the financially material ESG events. On the contrary, we observe that stock returns exhibit a short-term reaction rather than a long-term impact towards ESG events that are socially salient but less value-relevant. These tendencies seem more evident in corporations with limited information disclosure with investors concerning ESG. Moreover, conditional on the social impact of the event and the level of transparency in the company's ESG information, our findings suggest that the association between materiality and stock returns is not particularly substantial

Observation of finite excess noise in the voltage-biased quantum Hall regime as a precursor for breakdown

    Get PDF
We performed noise measurements in a two-dimensional electron gas to investigate the nonequilibrium quantum Hall effect (QHE) state. While excess noise is perfectly suppressed around the zero-biased QHE state reflecting the dissipationless electron transport of the QHE state, considerable finite excess noise is observed in the breakdown regime of the QHE. The noise temperature deduced from the excess noise is found to be of the same order as the energy gap between the highest occupied Landau level and the lowest empty one. Moreover, unexpected finite excess noise is observed at a finite source-drain bias voltagesmaller than the onset voltage of the QHE breakdown, which indicates finite dissipation in the QHE state and may be related to the prebreakdown of the QHE.Comment: 8 pages, 8 figure
