Study about the dissatisfactions in the basic psychosocial needs fulfillment perceived by the contagious patients confined in Isolation Units. Dissatisfactions level is evaluated concerning to information, safety, consideration, self-actualization, autonomy and social needs. Results led to the conclusion that deficiencies level is high, mainly when the patients are new hospitalized and the fulfillment of those needs is perceived as very important by them.Estudo preliminar sobre as deficiências na satisfação de necessidades psico-sociais básicas percebidas pelos pacientes de hepatite infecciosa internados em Unidades de Isolamento. É avaliado o nível de insatisfação em relação às necessidades de: informação, segurança, consideração, auto-realização, autonomia e necessidade social. Os resultados demonstram que essas necessidades encontram-se intensamente afetadas, principalmente em recém-admitidos e que o seu atendimento é percebido como muito importante pelos doentes hospitalizados

PERCEPÇÃO DOS PACIENTES DE UNIDADE DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA Problemas sentidos e expectativas em relação à assistência de enfermagem

A survey made with adult patients, submitted to cardiac surgery, who stayed in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) between 24 to 72 hours. The main point of the survey was to verify the most frequent problems felt by the patients in ICU and their expectations in relation to nursin care. It was found that, the majority of the problems felt and of the expectations related to nursing assistance belong in the basic area, more so than in the technical area.A investigação foi efetuada em pacientes adultos, submetidos à cirurgia cardíaca e que permaneceram na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), no mínimo, durante 24 horas e, no máximo, durante 72 horas. O objetivo do trabalho foi verificar os problemas mais freqüentemente sentidos pelos pacientes em UTI e suas expectativas quanto à assistência de enfermagem. Concluiu-se que, mesmo no caso de pacientes em estado crítico, os problemas sentidos e suas expectativas em relação à equipe de enfermagem recaem mais na área expressiva do que na instrumental
