Three Moving Groups Detected in the LAMOST DR1 Archive
We analyze the kinematics of thick disk and halo stars observed by the Large
sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope. We have constructed a
sample of 7,993 F, G and K nearby main-sequence stars (\textit{d} 2 kpc)
with estimates of position (x, y, z) and space velocity (, , ) based
on color and proper motion from the SDSS DR9 catalog. Three `phase-space
overdensities' are identified in [\textit{V}, ] with
significance levels of 3. %[L, eccentricity], [L,
L], and [V, V].
Two of them (Hyades-Pleiades stream, Arcturus-AF06 stream) have been
identified previously. We also find evidence for a new stream (centered at
\textit{V} -180 km s) in the halo. The formation mechanisms of
these three streams are analyzed. Our results support the hypothesis the
Arcturus-AF06 stream and the new stream originated from the debris of a
disrupted satellite, while Hyades-Pleiades stream has a dynamical origin.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figure
4,4′-(Phenylimino)dibenzaldehyde
The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C20H15NO2, contains one half-molecule with the central N atom and two C atoms of the benzene moiety lying on a twofold rotation axis. Weak C—H⋯O interactions join the molecules together into an infinite three-dimensional network
Study on the Safety Management of Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Test Roads Based on the Evaluation of Traffic Safety Facilities
More and more connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) open test roads reconstructed on the basis of traditional roads have appeared in China. However, the management policies vary, which makes the traffic environment complicated. This paper takes CAV test road safety management as the research aim and investigates the open test condition through the evaluation of the traffic safety facilities. Indicators were rigorously screened, then the game theory model was used to determine the combination weight of the indicators, and the set pair analysis was applied to solve the uncertain problems. A case study for the CAV test road network of a city in central China was implemented and the results show, regarding the traffic safety facilities’ condition, among the 20 sections of the city’s CAV test road network, 15% of which are at an excellent level, 75% of which are at a good level and 10% of which are at a moderate level; road signs, guardrail facilities, isolation facilities and road features are the main limiting factors affecting the level of traffic safety facilities. Based on the results, recommendations have been made for the transport management authorities in the aspects of safety management policy-making and facilities maintenance
Photon-number-solving Decoy State Quantum Key Distribution
In this paper, a photon-number-resolving decoy state quantum key distribution
scheme is presented based on recent experimental advancements. A new upper
bound on the fraction of counts caused by multiphoton pulses is given. This
upper bound is independent of intensity of the decoy source, so that both the
signal pulses and the decoy pulses can be used to generate the raw key after
verified the security of the communication. This upper bound is also the lower
bound on the fraction of counts caused by multiphoton pulses as long as faint
coherent sources and high lossy channels are used. We show that Eve's coherent
multiphoton pulse (CMP) attack is more efficient than symmetric individual (SI)
attack when quantum bit error rate is small, so that CMP attack should be
considered to ensure the security of the final key. finally, optimal intensity
of laser source is presented which provides 23.9 km increase in the
transmission distance. 03.67.DdComment: This is a detailed and extended version of quant-ph/0504221. In this
paper, a detailed discussion of photon-number-resolving QKD scheme is
presented. Moreover, the detailed discussion of coherent multiphoton pulse
attack (CMP) is presented. 2 figures and some discussions are added. A
detailed cauculation of the "new" upper bound 'is presente
Common promoter variants of the NDUFV2 gene do not confer susceptibility to schizophrenia in Han Chinese

Abstract

Background

The NADH-ubiquinone oxidoreductase flavoprotein gene (<it>NDUFV2</it>), which encodes a 24 kD mitochondrial complex I subunit, has been reported to be positively associated with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in different populations.

Methods

We genotyped the promoter variants of this gene (rs6506640 and rs1156044) by direct sequencing in 529 unrelated Han Chinese schizophrenia patients and 505 matched controls. Fisher's Exact test was performed to assess whether these two reported single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) confer susceptibility to schizophrenia in Chinese.

Results

Allele, genotype and haplotype comparison between the case and control groups showed no statistical significance, suggesting no association between the <it>NDUFV2 </it>gene promoter variants and schizophrenia in Han Chinese.

Conclusion

The role of NDUFV2 played in schizophrenia needs to be further studied. Different racial background and/or population substructure might account for the inconsistent results between studies.</p
