    Deforming black holes with even multipolar differential rotation boundary

    Motivated by the novel asymptotically global AdS4_4 solutions with deforming horizon in [JHEP {\bf 1802}, 060 (2018)], we analyze the boundary metric with even multipolar differential rotation and numerically construct a family of deforming solutions with quadrupolar differential rotation boundary, including two classes of solutions: solitons and black holes. In contrast to solutions with dipolar differential rotation boundary, we find that even though the norm of Killing vector ∂t\partial_t becomes spacelike for certain regions of polar angle θ\theta when ε>2\varepsilon>2, solitons and black holes with quadrupolar differential rotation still exist and do not develop hair due to superradiance. Moreover, at the same temperature, the horizonal deformation of quadrupolar rotation is smaller than that of dipolar rotation. Furthermore, we also study the entropy and quasinormal modes of the solutions, which have the analogous properties to that of dipolar rotation.Comment: 18 pages, 21 figure

    Weak cosmic censorship in Born-Infeld electrodynamics and bound on charge-to-mass ratio

    We construct a class of counterexamples to cosmic censorship in four dimensional Einstein-Born-Infeld theory with asymptotically anti-de Sitter boundary conditions, and investigate the effect of the Born-Infeld parameter bb in comparison with the counterpart of Einstein-Maxwell theory. When a charged massive scalar field is included into the action, we find that this class of counterexamples to cosmic censorship would be removed if the charge of scalar fields is above the minimum value of charge qminq_{min}. In particular, the minimum value of charge required to preserve cosmic censorship increases with the increasing of Born-Infeld parameter. Meanwhile, we also show the lower bounds on charge-to-mass ratio with the different values of Born-Infeld parameter.Comment: 14 pages, 9 figure

    Photodynamic therapy combined with the Sanqi Panax Notoginseng for patients with age-related macular degeneration and choroidal neovascularization

    AIM: To investigate the clinical effect of photodynamic therapy(PDT)combined with Traditional Chinese medicine Sanqi Panax Notoginseng therapy for age-related macular degeneration(AMD)and choroidal neovascularization(CNV). <p>METHODS: Seventeen patients(17 eyes)with AMD and CNV were diagnosed by visual acuity, ocular pressure, fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA), idocyanine green angiography(ICGA)and optic coherence tomography(OCT), and male 7 cases, female 10 cases, age 53-72 years old. PDT was performed using the recommended standard procedure. The patients were treated with PDT for 5 days, and Sanqi Panax Notoginseng 500mg injection by intravenous drip for 10 days, once a day, 15 days as one course. One month, 3, 6 months of follow-up after treatment. <p>RESULTS: Of 17 patients after 6 months treatment, visual acuity improved in 8 cases(47%, 8/17), remained stable in 6 cases(35%), and decreased in 3 cases(18%); and 12 cases(71%)with CNV closure and leakage stopped completely, 5 cases(29%)with most of the CNV's closure, 1 patient experienced blurred vision. <p>CONCLUSION: The results show that PDT combined with traditional Chinese medicine Sanqi Panax Notoginseng in treatment of ADM-CNV is simple and has reliable effect, it can be used in clinical application

    Analytical analysis for horizontal displacement of pile anchor support structure considering prestress

    The pile-anchor supporting structure is widely used in foundation pit engineering, it is particularly necessary for calculating lateral displacement of the pile-anchor supporting structure. The soil stress state is transformed by the additional stress caused by the prestress, thus the lateral displacement can be decreased own to pile-anchor supporting structure bearing active earth pressure had changed. Prestress as a concentrated force is decomposed into the horizontal component and vertical component, calculating the additional stress caused by the prestress and getting the formula of active earth pressure of considering the additional stress, setting up calculation model of the pile-anchor supporting structure. For typical examples of foundation pit engineering, the parameters are substituted into a program written based on derived formulas, and the elastic deformation superposition method is used to calculate the horizontal displacement of the pile anchor support structure. The comparison and verification is carried out by Finite element analysis. The influence of cohesion and friction angle on pile displacement, bending moment, and shear force has been studied. This study found that cohesion and friction angle have a significant impact on the displacement of pile anchor support structures

    MicroRNA-186 suppresses cell proliferation and metastasis in bladder cancer

    Purpose: Bladder cancer (BCa) is a common malignancy in the urinary system. This study aims to explore the role of miR-186 in BCa tumorigenesis. Methods: The expression of miR-186 and ADAMTS12 in clinical BCa tissues and cell lines was detected. BCa cell lines T24, 5637 and EJ were used to transfect miR-186 mimics or inhibitors. Luciferase reporter gene detection confirmed the correlation between miR-186 and ADAMTS12. MTT method and flow cytometry were used to detect cell viability and apoptosis. Cell migration and invasion ability was detected by transwell assay. The protein level of ADAMTS12, β-catenin, GSK-3β and p-GSK-3β was determined using western blot analysis. Results: MiR-186 was negatively correlated with the expression of ADAMTS12 in BCa tissues. Further research confirmed that ADAMTS12 is the direct target of miR-186. In addition, overexpression of miR-186 down-regulated the expression of ADAMTS12,inhibiting cell viability and apoptosis, while knockout of miR-186 led to the opposite result. miR-186 also inhibits the phosphorylation of GSK-3 β and β-catenin without changing the total GSK-3β level. Our study shows that miR-186 has a negative regulatory effecton the expression of ADAMTS12 in clinical specimens and in vitro. miR-186 can inhibit the proliferation and invasion of BCa cells.
