Global asymptotical behavior of the Lengyel-Epstein reaction-diffusion system
The Lengyel-Epstein reaction-diffusion system of the CIMA reaction is revisited. We construct a Lyapunov function to show that the constant equilibrium solution is globally asymptotically stable when the feeding rate of iodide is small. We also show that for small spatial domains, all solutions eventually converge to a spatially homogeneous and time-periodic solution. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved
Bifurcation and spatiotemporal patterns in a homogeneous diffusive predator-prey system
A diffusive predator-prey system with Holling type-II predator functional response subject to Neumann boundary conditions is considered. Hopf and steady state bifurcation analysis are carried out in details. In particular we show the existence of multiple spatially non-homogeneous periodic orbits while the system parameters are all spatially homogeneous. Our results and global bifurcation theory also suggest the existence of loops of spatially non-homogeneous periodic orbits and steady state solutions. These results provide theoretical evidences to the complex spatiotemporal dynamics found by numerical simulation. (c) 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved
A High Isolation Series-Shunt RF MEMS Switch
This paper presents a wide band compact high isolation microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) switch implemented on a coplanar waveguide (CPW) with three ohmic switch cells, which is based on the series-shunt switch design. The ohmic switch shows a low intrinsic loss of 0.1 dB and an isolation of 24.8 dB at 6 GHz. The measured average pull-in voltage is 28 V and switching time is 47 μs. In order to shorten design period of the high isolation switch, a structure-based small-signal model for the 3-port ohmic MEMS switch is developed and parameters are extracted from the measured results. Then a high isolation switch has been developed where each 3-port ohmic MEMS switch is closely located. The agreement of the measured and modeled radio frequency (RF) performance demonstrates the validity of the electrical equivalent model. Measurements of the series-shunt switch indicate an outstanding isolation of more than 40 dB and a low insertion loss of 0.35 dB from DC to 12 GHz with total chip size of 1 mm × 1.2 mm
Parton shower algorithm with saturation effect
We extend the previously developed small parton shower algorithm to
include the kinematic constraint effect and resummation effect. This work
enables the Monte Carlo generator to simultaneously resum large and small
logarithms in the saturation regime for the first time. It is an important
step towards simulating processes involving multiple well separated hard
scales, such as di-jet production in eA collisions at EIC.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures. arXiv admin note: text overlap with
