Order-Preserving Abstractive Summarization for Spoken Content Based on Connectionist Temporal Classification
Connectionist temporal classification (CTC) is a powerful approach for
sequence-to-sequence learning, and has been popularly used in speech
recognition. The central ideas of CTC include adding a label "blank" during
training. With this mechanism, CTC eliminates the need of segment alignment,
and hence has been applied to various sequence-to-sequence learning problems.
In this work, we applied CTC to abstractive summarization for spoken content.
The "blank" in this case implies the corresponding input data are less
important or noisy; thus it can be ignored. This approach was shown to
outperform the existing methods in term of ROUGE scores over Chinese Gigaword
and MATBN corpora. This approach also has the nice property that the ordering
of words or characters in the input documents can be better preserved in the

Vertical Integration in the Taiwan Aquaculture Industry
The study aims to improve the distribution channels in the Taiwan aquaculture industry through a better vertical integration. This study is derived from a need to improve the distribution performance of agricultural-based industries in response to increasing food demands in Asia and elsewhere. Based on a four-by-eight matrix derived from both a value chain and a service profit chain, thirty different strategies are developed. This development is based on key success factors and strategies for vertical integration interviewed and cited in the literatures. The findings are identified by applying the Gray Relational Analysis (GRA). For this study, the key success factors for aquaculture wholesale markets include the communication, integration and cohesion of opinion within the wholesale market; government support; andmutual trust between members of the vertical integration scheme. AdapterBias: Parameter-efficient Token-dependent Representation Shift for Adapters in NLP Tasks
Transformer-based pre-trained models with millions of parameters require
large storage. Recent approaches tackle this shortcoming by training adapters,
but these approaches still require a relatively large number of parameters. In
this study, AdapterBias, a surprisingly simple yet effective adapter
architecture, is proposed. AdapterBias adds a token-dependent shift to the
hidden output of transformer layers to adapt to downstream tasks with only a
vector and a linear layer. Extensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate
the effectiveness of AdapterBias. The experiments show that our proposed method
can dramatically reduce the trainable parameters compared to the previous works
with a minimal decrease in task performances compared with fine-tuned
pre-trained models. We further find that AdapterBias automatically learns to
assign more significant representation shifts to the tokens related to the task

Investigation of inversion, accumulation and junctionless mode bulk Germanium FinFETs
The characteristic performance of n-type and p-type inversion (IM) mode, accumulation (AC) mode and junctionless (JL) mode, bulk Germanium FinFET device with 3-nm gate length (LG) are demonstrated by using 3-D quantum transport device simulation. The simulated bulk Ge FinFET device exhibits favorable short channel characteristics, including drain-induced barrier lowering (DIBL<10mV/V), sub threshold slope (SS∼64mV/dec.). Electron density distributions in ON-state and OFF-state also show that the simulated devices have large ION/IOFF ratios. Homogenous source/drain doping is maintained and only the channel doping is varied among different operating modes. Also, a constant threshold voltage |VTH|∼0.31V is maintained. Moreover, the calculated quantum capacitance (CQ) values of the Ge nanowire emphasizes the importance of quantum confinement effects (QCE) on the performance of the ultra-scaled devices
Measuring the Quality of Financial Electronic Payment System: Combined with Fuzzy AHP and Fuzzy TOPSIS
The study aims to apply Fuzzy AHP in TOPSIS to discuss the key factors that foster the success of current third-party online payment platforms. This study organized the quality measurements into four categories and eleven sub-categories. The AHP in TOPSIS is applied to calculate the weighted averages of all categories and sub-categories to measure the quality of third-party online payment platforms. This study finds that “safety quality” is the most emphasized category, “system quality” is the second, “communication quality” is the third, and “service quality” is the least emphasized

Mixed Spices at Culinary Doses Have Prebiotic Effects in Healthy Adults: A Pilot Study.
Spices were used as food preservatives prior to the advent of refrigeration, suggesting the possibility of effects on microbiota. Previous studies have shown prebiotic activities in animals and in vitro, but there has not been a demonstration of prebiotic or postbiotic effects at culinary doses in humans. In this randomized placebo-controlled study, we determined in twenty-nine healthy adults the effects on the gut microbiota of the consumption daily of capsules containing 5 g of mixed spices at culinary doses by comparison to a matched control group consuming a maltodextrin placebo capsule. The 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing data were used for microbial characterization. Spice consumption resulted in a significant reduction in Firmicutes abundance (p < 0.033) and a trend of enrichment in Bacteroidetes (p < 0.097) compared to placebo group. Twenty-six operational taxonomic units (OTUs) were different between the spice and placebo groups after intervention. Furthermore, there was a significant negative correlation between fecal short-chain fatty acid propionate concentration and Firmicutes abundance in spice intervention group (p < 0.04). The production of individual fecal short-chain fatty acid was not significantly changed by spice consumption in this study. Mixed spices consumption significantly modified gut microbiota, suggesting a prebiotic effect of spice consumption at culinary doses
Novel polythiophene derivatives functionalized withconjugated side-chain pendants comprisingtriphenylamine/carbazole moieties for photovoltaic cellapplications†
We synthesized a series of polythiophenes (PTs) featuring 2-ethylhexyl-substituted terthiophene (T) orquaterthiophene (BT) as the conjugated unit in the polymer backbone with pendant conjugated tertbutyl-substituted triphenylamine (tTPA)- or carbazole (tCz)-containing moieties as side chains, namelyPTtTPA, PBTtTPA, PTtCz and PBTtCz. Incorporating T and BT moieties into the polymer backbone andattaching tTPA or tCz units promoted efficient conjugation within the extended conjugated frameworksof the polymers, resulting in lower band-gap energies and red-shifting of the maximal UV-Visabsorption wavelength. The higher electron-donating ability of tTPA resulted in broader absorptionbands and lower band-gap energies of PTtTPA and PBTtTPA as compared with PTtCz and PBTtCz.Incorporation of the T and BT moieties into the polymer backbone enhanced the compatibility of PTand the fullerene derivative by reducing the side-chain density of PT, thus providing sufficient freevolume for efficient incorporation of [6,6]phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) into thepolymer chains. Polymer solar cells (PSCs) were fabricated by spin-coating a blend of each PT with thefullerene derivative (PC61BM) as a composite film-type photoactive layer; PBTtTPA/PC61BM-based PSCsshowed superior photovoltaic (PV) performance to PTtTPA/PC61BM-based PSCs in terms of conjugationand absorption band broadness. However, PBTtCz/PC61BM-based PSCs showed inferior PV performanceto PTtCz/PC61BM-based PSCs. The lower HOMO level led to a higher open-circuit voltage (Voc; 0.74 V)and larger photo-energy conversion efficiency (h; 2.77%) of PTtCz/PC61BM-based PSCs
Virtual Guidance as a Mid-level Representation for Navigation
In the context of autonomous navigation, effectively conveying abstract
navigational cues to agents in dynamic environments poses challenges,
particularly when the navigation information is multimodal. To address this
issue, the paper introduces a novel technique termed "Virtual Guidance," which
is designed to visually represent non-visual instructional signals. These
visual cues, rendered as colored paths or spheres, are overlaid onto the
agent's camera view, serving as easily comprehensible navigational
instructions. We evaluate our proposed method through experiments in both
simulated and real-world settings. In the simulated environments, our virtual
guidance outperforms baseline hybrid approaches in several metrics, including
adherence to planned routes and obstacle avoidance. Furthermore, we extend the
concept of virtual guidance to transform text-prompt-based instructions into a
visually intuitive format for real-world experiments. Our results validate the
adaptability of virtual guidance and its efficacy in enabling policy transfer
