Meeting Future Energy Needs in the Hindu Kush Himalaya

    Get PDF
As mentioned in earlier chapters, the HKH regions form the entirety of some countries, a major part of other countries, and a small percentage of yet others. Because of this, when we speak about meeting the energy needs of the HKH region we need to be clear that we are not necessarily talking about the countries that host the HKH, but the clearly delineated mountainous regions that form the HKH within these countries. It then immediately becomes clear that energy provisioning has to be done in a mountain context characterized by low densities of population, low incomes, dispersed populations, grossly underdeveloped markets, low capabilities, and poor economies of scale. In other words, the energy policies and strategies for the HKH region have to be specific to these mountain contexts

<p>After the realization of a new prototype of concentrator through, we have study the realization of a sun tracking system in order to assure the best system efficiency throughout the day. We started in the first step by the blind sun tracking where we have acquired the good results. In this paper we try to speak about the realization of a new system of sun tracking who is the sensitive sun tracking. In this sort of tracking we have used a special telescope, like a sensitive element in for the detection of sun position. An electronic Card based PIC microcontroller is realized to pilot the mechanic system of the san tracking. In order to controlled the prototype we have put on a chain of data acquisition. The results were compared with the results of the blind sun tracking system and the stationary position, it was noted that the results were better this time and the efficiency is very important.</p

Copper is one of the constituents of alloys for structural components and a dosimetry material. In this study, we calculated the proton emission spectra and the excitation function produced by (n, xp) and (n, p) reactions respectively by using the Exciton model predictions combined with the Kalbach angular distribution systematics and the Hybrid Monte-Carlo Simulation (HMS). The sensitivity studies on the input parameters from optical model, level density, spin cut-off parameter and mean free path have been investigated for our calculations with the code EMPIRE and the code TALYS. The proton emission spectra and the excitation function for 65Cu nucleus were discussed and found in good agreement with the available experimental data
