Β© 2016 by iSER, International Society of Educational Research. The urgency of the problem stated in the article is stipulated by the fact that the organizational and methodical conditions of effective education projects risk management being adequate to the current stage of the society development are not developed perfectly. It is related to the fact that the circumstances actualizing the concept of "risk" in the modern educational environment is as a rule neglected and instead of it is used only its economic component, which results in effectiveness reduction. The purpose of the present article is the identification of the circumstances, actualizing the concept of "risk" in the modern educational environment and formulation of organizational and methodological conditions for effective risk management of educational projects. The leading approach to the study of this problem is systematization that allows to consider the problem as a whole system necessary for effective risk management of educational projects. The present article identifies the circumstances actualizing study of the "risk" phenomenon in the modern educational environment, formulates the basic contradiction in the study of the risks of educational projects and formulates organizational and methodical conditions of effective risk management of education projects. Organizational and methodical conditions of the effective risk management of educational projects are designated for creating a more efficient models and practices of risk management of the educational project. They may be useful in the sphere of educational employees who design, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate educational projects of different levels

Β© Serials Publications. This article discusses the issue of moral education and the formation of ethical principles in teenagers through teaching humanitarian subjects. The importance of this issue stems from those cultural and spiritual changes that Russian society is currently experiencing and from the current priority to preserve and develop the Russian traditions of moral education, patriotism and humanitarianism needed to instill highest moral principles in new generations and to support the academic and cultural development of the human capital. This article aims to develop the issue in view of the fact that education today prioritizes moral education that is orientated towards raising children to be rich in fairness, kindness, generosity, tolerance, humility and patriotism. Over the course of the study we used both theoretical (comparative and logical analyses, synthesis, generalization, modeling) and empirical methods (studying achieves, regulatory documents, innovative practices in ethical education and organizing discussions, observations, surveys, questionnaires, statistical analysis and the pedagogical experiment aimed at instilling ethical principles in teenagers in the process of teaching humanitarian subjects). All in all, the results of our empirical work suggest that our hypothesis in regards to moral education is correct. Teachers and student teachers might find the materials of this article useful

A plastic stress intensity factor approach to turbine disk structural integrity assessment

    Get PDF
This study based on a new fracture mechanics parameter is concerned with assessing the integrity of cracked steam turbine disk which operate under startup-shutdown cyclic loading conditions. Damage accumulation and growth in service have occurred on the inner surface of slot fillet of key. In order to determine elastic-plastic fracture mechanics parameters full-size stress-strain state analysis of turbine disk was performed for a quote-elliptical part-through cracks under considering loading conditions. As a result distributions of elastic and plastic stress intensity factors along crack front in slot fillet of key of turbine disk depending on surface crack form are defined. An engineering approach to the prediction of carrying capacity of cracked turbine disk which is sensitive to the loading history at maintenance is proposed. The predictions of the rate of crack growth and residual lifetime of steam turbine disk are compared for elastic and elastic-plastic solutions. It is shown that the previously proposed elastic crack growth models provide overestimate the lifetime with respect to the present one. An advantage to use the plastic stress intensity factor to characterize the fracture resistance as the self-dependent unified parameter for a variety of turbine disk configurations rather than the magnitude of the elastic stress intensity factors alone is discussed

© 2018, Akadémiai Kiadó, Budapest, Hungary. The problem of utilization of the compounds present in the effluents of the production of cellulose nitrates (NC) is very important and complicated, and its decision is inextricably related to the environment. The process of heat release in the samples of nitrocellulose subjected to biological processing of different types was studied. Biological processing was conducted by incubation with sulfate-reducing bacteria Desulfovibrio desulfuricans BКMB-1388, microscopic fungi Fusarium solani BKM F-819, and their mixed culture. The studies were carried out on the native NC (13.38% nitrogen) and the NC processed (NCproc) using ultraviolet radiation and ozone (UV + ozone). It has been shown that the pretreatment of the NC by UV + ozone significantly increases the degree of decomposition of the NC during its subsequent biodegradation assisted by symbiotic microorganisms of D. desulfuricans and F. solani. A substantial result was achieved on the fifth day of NCproc incubation, which is promising from the viewpoint of practical applications

Β© 2017 Serials Publications. The relevance of the problem under investigation is due to the fact that distance education in mass, especially in a professional higher school, is of particular importance in terms of fundamental changes in the needs of society in a variety of professions and requirements imposed on graduates of modern educational institutions. This form of training together with the expansion of information technologies can effectively solve the problem of training students and life-long learning throughout a person's life. It should be noted that it follows the logic of the development of the education system and society as a whole and can act as a tool not only to meet, but also to form educational needs of a person, in accordance with the interests of society and the state. Distance education broadens the mind of the person giving the sense of belonging to the world of humanistic ideas and the information society, creating a sense of responsibility, is able to solve the problem of teacher training more than any other method of education. In the same context, the opportunities of distance education to develop verbal and cogitative activities and information culture are considered. The promising option for training future teachers for the work in the "person-toperson" (face-to-face) system is the network of educational institutions that offer distance learning courses. Under the functioning of this system the integrity of content and methodological training environments of geographically disparate educational institutions is ensured. As a result of the use of network principles the integrity of educational institutions can be effectively guaranteed and realized in continuity of principles and approaches to the management of different functional and territorial subsystems, and in the more distant future - its equitable integration into the world community

Β© 2017 Elsevier B.V. Toxoplasmosis, a most common zoonosis, is caused by the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii. However, there is little epidemiological information on T. gondii infections in humans and livestock animals in Russia. Therefore, in this study, the seroprevalence of T. gondii in goats in Russia was investigated. A total of 216 goats from 32 farms were investigated and 95 of them were seropositive for T. gondii. The difference in seroprevalence between the examined regions was not statistically significant. We next collected serum samples from 99 cats and 181 humans in Kazan city, the state capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, and examined their T. gondii seroprevalences. Thirty-nine of the 99 cat samples and 56 of the 181 human samples showed seropositivity. Logistical regression analysis revealed that the cat breeding history of the human subjects, but not their sex or age is a significant risk factor for T. gondii seropositivity. These findings suggest that the natural environment in Russia may be widely polluted with T. gondii oocysts shed by cats, and ingestion of these oocysts provides a major route for human infection with this parasite

Biological properties of coronaviruses of farm, domestic animals and birds: comparative characterization of pathology they induce (review)

    Get PDF
Coronavirus induced diseases can cause significant damage to agriculture that is associated with high (up to 100%) lethality in young animals. Members of the family Coronaviridae are characterized by the fact that they infect a wide range of animals and birds with expressed species-limitedΒ  pathogenicity.Β  One more coronavirus specificity involves their ability to simultaneously affect more than one organ. The disease severity is also strongly correlated with the age of the susceptible animal and degree of pathology. Thus, the coronavirus induced diseases are most often acute in newborn and young animals, while such diseases often develop into chronic and latent forms in adult animals. The general property of all coronavirus-induced diseases involves acute impairement of capillary circulation in the affected organ thus leading to the development of further pathology. The proposed review demonstratesΒ  brief overview of the history of discovery and examination of the viruses of Coronaviridae family and describes the coronavirus taxonomy. The paper reviews the virus structure, physico-chemical and biological properties; it describes specific featuresΒ  of their cultivation in vitro, some biochemical aspects of the virus replication and analyses the process of their propagationΒ  in the sensitive cells. Some data on the virus antigen structure and immunogenicity, on the presence of related antigens in the coronaviruses infecting humans, animals and birds are demonstrated as well. The paper provides data on the significant role the coronaviruses play in the pathology of farm animals and stresses their economic relevance, in particular for the commercial pig and poultry production
