Large Zero Autocorrelation Zone of Golay Sequences and -QAM Golay Complementary Sequences
Sequences with good correlation properties have been widely adopted in modern
communications, radar and sonar applications. In this paper, we present our new
findings on some constructions of single -ary Golay sequence and -QAM
Golay complementary sequence with a large zero autocorrelation zone, where
is an arbitrary even integer and is an arbitrary integer.
Those new results on Golay sequences and QAM Golay complementary sequences can
be explored during synchronization and detection at the receiver end and thus
improve the performance of the communication system
Identification of biomarkers for ischemic cardiomyopathy based on microarray data analysis
Background: The aim of this study was to explore the biomarkers and potential mechanism underlying ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM).
Methods: Using the GSE42955 Affymetrix microarray data accessible from the Gene Expression Omnibus database, the differentially expressed genes between 12 ICM tissue samples and 5 normal controls were identified. To investigate the function changes in the course of disease progression, Gene Ontology (GO) annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis were performed on the differentially expressed genes, followed by analysis of the protein–protein interaction (PPI) network and modules.
Results: A total of 50 up-regulated and 179 down-regulated genes were identified. The biological processes of immune response, response to virus, and cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) were significantly altered by the differentially expressed genes. The PPI network revealed certain hub nodes such as CXCL10, IRF1, STAT1, IFIT2, and IFIT3.
Conclusions: Candidate biomarker genes such as CXCL10, IRF1, STAT1, IFIT2, and IFIT3 may be suitable therapeutic targets for ICM. Further study of the CAMs pathway and immune response biological processes will be helpful in understanding the pathogenesis of ICM
Ego-Downward and Ambient Video based Person Location Association
Using an ego-centric camera to do localization and tracking is highly needed
for urban navigation and indoor assistive system when GPS is not available or
not accurate enough. The traditional hand-designed feature tracking and
estimation approach would fail without visible features. Recently, there are
several works exploring to use context features to do localization. However,
all of these suffer severe accuracy loss if given no visual context
information. To provide a possible solution to this problem, this paper
proposes a camera system with both ego-downward and third-static view to
perform localization and tracking in a learning approach. Besides, we also
proposed a novel action and motion verification model for cross-view
verification and localization. We performed comparative experiments based on
our collected dataset which considers the same dressing, gender, and background
diversity. Results indicate that the proposed model can achieve
improvement in accuracy performance. Eventually, we tested the model on
multi-people scenarios and obtained an average accuracy
Bankruptcy Situation Model in Small Business: The Case of Restaurant Firms
The purpose of this paper is to describe and discuss the current bankruptcy prediction models. This is done in the context of pros and cons of proposed models to determine the appropriate factors of failure phenomenon in cases involving restaurants that have filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11. A sample of 11 restaurant companies that filed for bankruptcy between 1993 and 2003 were identified from the Form 8-K reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). By applying financial ratios retrieved from the annual reports which contain, income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flows, and statements of stockholders’ equity (or deficit) to the Atlman’s mode, Springate model, and Fulmer’s model. The study found that Atlman’s model for the non-manufacturing industry provided the most accurate bankruptcy predictions
Recomposing of Industrial Supply Chain and Constructing of Digital CBD
Drawing lessons from the development of cities at home and abroad success and lost experience, through practice research, this paper systemically analysis the evolution of urban economy space. In the scope of global industrial supply chain’s recomposing, it is discusses that modern city’s function structure characteristic, focusing “integrative logistics management service”. According to Dalian’s geography and resource advantage in district industry supply chain, this paper also proposes the digital CBD planning of Dalian which focuses integrative logistics management service
